Egeria says "Great product!" about Softlips Lip Protectant

I used to use Chapstick all the time but last winter my lips started to get really itchy. At the time I thought it might be because of the cold weather so I started applying more Chapstick but that just got worse so I decided maybe it was time for a change. I switched over to Softlips and have never looked back.

The one that I use is Pure Softlips Honeydew. It glides on very nicely, is lightly scented (I don't like being able to smell whatever's on my lips whenever I inhale), and it's 100% natural. My only complaint is the quantity. Unlike most of the other lip protecting products, Softlips comes in a very skinny tube so you obviously get less product. The pricing was a little over $2, which is probably about twice the cost of Chapstick considering the quantity. Personally, I think it's worth it.

I haven't tried any of Softlips' other products but I would definitely recommend the Pure Softlips.
...

Egeria says "Thumbs up on the packaging! That's about all...." about Almay Pure Blends Lipgloss

I was in the cosmetics section at Walmart earlier today and happened to run into the Almay Pure Blends. The first thing I noticed was the packaging. This lip gloss comes in the standard little tube but the pretty design on the tube really makes it look so sophisticated. The second thing I noticed was the very natural shades this product comes in. I'm not all that into bright or dramatic colors for lips so it seemed like a fairly good match, then the 95.8% natural ingredients was like a bonus. The shade I ended up getting was the peony.

Before I even put this lip gloss on, I smelled the stuff. I guess to keep it as natural as possible, a nicer scent wasn't added in and to be quite honest, it smells none too good. The first thought that came to mind was that it smells faintly like crayons and after a couple whiffs I got a little nauseous.

So anyway, I figured, that's okay it's not like I'm gonna be deeply inhaling this stuff so onwards toward testing! Now, I don't usually...
...

Egeria says "Colonial espionage meets comedy" about Jack of All Trades

I remember watching this series back when it aired on television. It's been quite a while since then but I remember really liking the opening song. After rewatching this series all over again, the opening song still gives me tinglies. As for the series itself it's alot of fun. There's a bit of swordplay in it and lots of clever lines. While there are jokes about the 'proper' role of women in society as the quiet housewife and whatnot, this series pointedly makes a counterpoint with Emilia, who is an inventor, an accomplished exporter of goods, as well as a spy.

The Good. The details that were included, from setting to costume and hair, were pretty good. Characters were enjoyable to watch and there weren't any of those overly annoying characters that usually pop up.

The Bad. My only complaint is that the series is so short. I haven't looked up too much detail about the series but it's likely that it was cut for lack of interest. I really doubt very many people would find...
...

Egeria says "The adventures of a young Hercules" about Young Hercules

I've always been interested in Greek mythology; stories about gods/goddesses and the like have always intrigued me so I'll admit that I am probably less critical about this series than the usual. I grew up watching the Kevin Sorbo version of Hercules so thought that I would probably like this series just about the same.

In truth, Young Hercules fell a bit below expectation. The series is, quite obviously, aimed towards a younger audience so the stories are a lot simpler and the mood for the series as a whole is very fun and laid back. About half the stories are directed towards moral decisions between right and wrong, responsibility, and so on; all the typical underlying themes that usually pop up in a series geared towards teens. As such, my feelings for Young Hercules falls within the 'meh' range.

The Good. The thing I enjoyed about this series is the fun, happy-go-lucky feel. It's got that streak of energy that goes hand in hand with growing up.

The Bad. Boat load of amateur...
...

Egeria says "Western sci-fi with a touch of wit. An amazing find!" about Firefly - The Complete Series

To be honest I'm not usually a great fan of the sci-fi genre in general but I stumbled upon the movie Serenity at the good ol' Red Box a while back and decided to give it a try. I took an instant liking to the movie mostly because of the witty dialogue and great characters. Afterwards, I went to IMDb and started looking at other films some of the actors also appeared in. That's where I found Firefly.

My reaction to seeing the description of Firefly was: Wow! There's a Serenity series too!?

I personally really enjoyed this series. Having seen Serenity, I knew what to expect in the way of setting, mood, and humor in Firefly, so for me it was pretty much the prequel to a story that already had a very meaningful ending.

The Good. What I found to be really great in this series was definitely the fun witty remarks passed between the characters. Much of the dialogue is stuff you can imagine real people saying and none of that scripted sounding exchange between characters. The...
...

Egeria says "The pain was not worth the gain" about Maybelline VolumeXLSeduction

So I went to Walmart a couple months ago and saw this pretty looking lip stuff, this Maybelline VolumeXLSeduction Lip Plumper. I'm not all that into makeup and I wasn't paying attention to it being a lip 'plumper' at the time but I brought it home mostly because it was such a pretty shade of pink.

When I put it on the first time I thought it was kinda weird. The plumper gives your lips this tingly/numbing feeling whenever you put it on but after a little while, maybe 5 minutes or so, the tingly goes away. The color was amazing, was definitely one of the best shades I have ever seen and it gives the lips this nice shine that doesn't look too unnaturally like you just ate chicken and forgot to wipe your lips.

I didn't use the product for a while, kinda just tossed it to the back of my stuff. It's been about 2 months or so now and I pulled the VolumeXLSeduction Lip Plumper back out the other day. Put it on just like before and got the same tingly reaction I got before. Nice stuff. ...
...
