Dragonfire870 says "Perfect GPS for Budget-Conscious Geocacher" about Garmin - eTrex Legend HCx GPS

The Garmin eTrex Legend HCx is a great GPS to have if you're a geocacher, but at the same time looking for a great deal. It's cheaper than the other fancier GPSes out there, but has features that are a must-have if you geocache a lot.

One of the best features is the ability to download waypoints from the computer. If you're a frequent cacher you don't want to spend time inputting all the waypoints manually, so this helps. The preloaded maps are also pretty great, except they don't have all of the roads, and a detailed map costs more money.

In addition, the GPS is quick to acquire the satellites, and is pretty accurate due to the high-sensitivity receiver built in.

Overall, if you don't mind paying a little extra for some useful features, this GPS is right for you.
...

Dragonfire870 says "This Onion will make you laugh until you cry" about The Onion

The Onion is a hilarious twist on the dull everyday news. This newspaper is published every week and instead of reporting on real news, it reports on fake news, inspired by real news stories. It uses a lot of sarcasm and satire, and will make you laugh so hard you'll cry -- I did! They also have an online version at theonion.com, with

This paper is definitely not for everyone, as it does use foul language and some of the stories may be offensive to some. It's also not intended for readers under 18, so it's not kid-friendly. But if you're looking a good laugh, it's perfect. They also have offices in some major cities nationwide, and while it can be pricey, I don't subscribe as the local college has them for free. The entertainment section is usually localized, so local movie showtimes and band reviews are there.

Overall, while this paper is not for everyone, its use of satire and sarcasm is sure to keep you glued and reading....

Dragonfire870 says "Becoming more and more like MySpace" about Facebook

Facebook is one of the many social networking sites out there. In just a few months it has grown from a small unknown site into a powerhouse competing with MySpace.

I'm a college student, and I use Facebook frequently to keep in touch with my friends. However, recently the site has taken a turn for the worse. Don't get me wrong, I still like the site and will still use it, but many of the new features are bad. Every week it's becoming more and more like MySpace, and I joined Facebook to get away from MySpace! The applications are very confusing and annoying, even for a student. There are way too many of them, and it's turning people's pages into a circus. I also hated when the owner opened up the site to everyone, because part of the reason why I joined the site was that it was relatively private and protected from the rest of the world, and now that's gone.

It's definitely not for everyone, but it's easier for older people to use than MySpace. But it's quickly becoming the "go to" place,......

Dragonfire870 says "Classic children's book about Christmas" about The Polar Express

The Polar Express is a classic children's book about Christmas, that has been loved by thousands of children since it came out over 20 years ago. The story is about a young boy who begins to lose his belief of Santa Claus. The night before Christmas a magic train called the Polar Express pulls up in front of his house and he is invited to the North Pole. At the North Pole he experiences many wonderful things and at the end he begins to believe in Santa Claus again.

This book is wonderful, with its storyline and its illustrations. It's a great book to read to children during the holiday season, and they are sure to love it. I'm 19 years old, and I still love reading this book during Christmas because not only is it a classic, but it gets everyone in the Christmas spirit. The movie is good as well, but it's not nearly as good as the book....

Dragonfire870 says "iTunes struck the right chord" about Apple iTunes

Apple's iTunes is by far one of the best music players and music stores for the computer today. The music player side is very easy to use and it's easy to import songs from files on the computer or from CDs, and it's easy to burn music onto CDs.

The music store side is great too. It has a huge inventory of songs and albums from many artists and bands, and it's usually cheaper than buying the CD. One of the best things about the store is that you can purchase songs individually. I especially like this because there are certain artists who have only one or two songs that I like. It's also a great way to explore new artists because not only do you have the 30-second preview, but if you buy a song or two and really like it, you can use the "Complete My Album" feature which lets you buy the rest of the album for a discounted price.

There are a few drawbacks to the software and music store... The store doesn't have some big-name artists so you still have to either buy their CDs or go to another......

Dragonfire870 says "The one internet browser to rule them all" about Mozilla Firefox 2.0

Mozilla Firefox is quite possibly one of the best things that could have happened to computers. It's destroyed the belief that Microsoft's Internet Explorer is the one and only browser and has opened up the world of alternative software to not only computer geeks, but to normal everyday people.

This software is better than Internet Explorer (IE) because it's faster, safer, and best of all, it's completely customizable. Its open-source architecture makes all of these things possible. The customization is endless; you can install various plugins (known as add-ons), to make Firefox your very own. You can customize the theme, the search engines, and the extensions, which are like mini-applications in the browser. For example, I have FoxyTunes, which lets my control my music player through the browser; ChatZilla, so I can chat on IRC through the browser; StumbleUpon, so I can find new and interesting websites; and FlashGet, so I have more control over my downloads. The possibilities are endless.......

Dragonfire870 says "Just as delicious as the Oats & Chocolate" about General Mills - Fiber One Oats and Peanut Butter Chewy Bars

This bar is just as good as Fiber One's other variety, Oats & Chocolate. It's sweet yet satisfying, it has the real peanut butter taste (as most other nutrition bars use different flavoring and it doesn't taste like real peanut butter). It's very satisfying and good for those who need fiber as it has a lot of it. It fills you up, and if you're on Weight Watchers it's only 2 points.

It's not quite as sweet as the Oats & Chocolate, but it all depends on which one you like more. I like both and eat at least one a day for breakfast (along with cereal). It's also good for those on the run because it's not messy and easy to eat.
...

Dragonfire870 says "Nuts about Nutella" about Nutella Hazelnut Spread 13oz

Nutella is one of those products that not everyone knows about even though it's right on the shelf next to peanut butter. It's similar to peanut butter as they have about the same calories and fat, and it's creamy like peanut butter. However, Nutella is made from hazelnuts, and is made with chocolate, so it's creamier and sweeter than peanut butter.

I first discovered this creamy spread from French class, when they made crepes to raise money. Europeans LOVE this stuff, and there's a good reason. It's great on bread, croissants, plain cookies, crepes, etc. It's rich and creamy and delicious. It's good as part of breakfast, it's good as part of a snack in the middle of the day, and it's good as part of a dessert after dinner.

The problems with Nutella is that it's more expensive than peanut butter and almost never on sale. It's also slightly less healthy than peanut butter, although they are comparable. And it's addicting! But depending on your point of view, that can be a good thing.
...

Recently I found these bars in the grocery store and they looked good, so I had to try them. Wow! I was very impressed. They have a great taste and are packed with fiber. This bar is good as a snack, and is good if you want something sweet because the chocolate has the right amount of sweetness. Because of the high fiber, these are good to keep hunger at bay if you can't eat breakfast/lunch immediately.

These bars are also good if you're on a diet, because they have high fiber and are nutritious (they're only 2 points a bar on Weight Watchers). The Peanut Butter flavored one is good too, but not as good as the chocolate one....

Dragonfire870 says "Great food in a local restaurant!" about Hut's Hamburgers - Austin, TX

Hut's Hamburgers is a restaurant that belongs in Austin. It's west of downtown on the famous 6th Street, though it's not within the 6th Street Entertainment District. It looks like a diner on the outside and inside. Sports team pennants line the walls inside along with other memorabilia, including articles about the restaurant.

This place has great food that you'll remember for a long time. They have a various hamburgers named after different things, and many of their other offerings are delicious. Their onion rings are face-sized -- seriously! -- and their milkshakes are amazing.

The only downside to this local eatery is it's very small and fills up quickly for lunch and dinner, and it's kind of hard to get to.

Hut's Hamburgers is a cheap restaurant with delicious food and a fun atmosphere -- and it's local!
...

Dragonfire870 says "Big fun in a small package" about Nintendo - DS Lite Console

I got the Nintendo DS Lite (white version) for Christmas last year. I wanted one badly since I'm a fan of Nintendo. When I got the DS Lite I was amazed at how small it was, and I loved the white color.

The touch screen capability is great, although many of the games I play I have to use the controls since the stylus makes controlling it worse or the game isn't touchscreen capable. The fact that it can play Game Boy games is a plus, as I have 4 previous GBs. The amount of playing time on a charge is outstanding, much longer than many other electronics such as MP3 players. The graphics are pretty good for something this size.

The DS Lite is durable, though I had to get a case to protect it from being dropped and to carry my games.

Overall, this gaming system is a great buy and is sure to last for a long time....

Dragonfire870 says "Great way to lose weight and keep it off" about Weight Watchers

I was a little afraid about trying out Weight Watchers, as I had tried the Atkins and South Beach deits before. But when my mom lost 30 pounds from Weight Watchers, I had to try it. I was also skeptical because I'm a guy, and most people who do Weight Watchers are women.

This program works, unlike many other diets. I've been able to lose weight consistently and keep it off. You may not lose 8 pounds every week -- most people only lose .5 to 2 lbs a week -- but the healthy amount of weight to lose a week is about 1 or 2 pounds. And unlike those diets where you lose 8 pounds in a week, with Weight Watchers you actually keep it off. It all has to do with exercise, eating the right foods, and eating the right amount of food.

The points system is very ease to use, and while it can be a pain to write everything down, it helps. The online eTools is a great alternative; I'm on the computer constantly and I only use the online points tracker, which is easy to use. You can eat normal food on Weight......

I've lived in Texas for about 13 years so I'm used to the local grocery stores such as H-E-B. I've lived in Round Rock for about 7 years, and when the original H-E-B closer to I-35 closed and the new HEB Plus! opened up I was glad, because the old store was always crowded and dirty.

The new H-E-B Plus! is a bad store to go to. It's always crowded, even more than Wal-Mart, and the parking lot isn't big enough for this. The store is large so you can get almost everything, but it's gotten as dirty and as crowded as the old H-E-B. And this store has poor service just like all of the other H-E-B's, and I expect at least mediocre service. And the prices aren't that low compared to other local stores such as Randalls....

Dragonfire870 says "Looks and tastes like white bread, but is nutritious like wheat!" about Nature's Own Whitewheat Bread

I'm on Weight Watchers trying to lose weight, and when I heard about this bread I was skeptical. I didn't understand how white bread could be nutritious. So one day I went to the grocery store and looked at the information. This bread has 5 grams of fiber for two slices! When I calculated how many points it was, it was only 1 point for a serving size, which is two slices. I was still a little skeptical about the taste, so I bought a loaf and took it home.

Later that day I tried it normally and in a sandwich. It looks like white bread, feels like white bread, and tastes like white bread. I was amazed because I never thought white bread could be healthy. The texture is soft and spongy, just like white bread, and it tastes like it too. And best of all, it's nutritious like wheat bread!

The only downside to this bread is that it's only available in certain places (mainly the south/southeast US), and Nature's Own (the company that makes it) won't ship it because they want to preserve the freshness.......

Dragonfire870 says "High quality notebook from high quality company" about Dell Inspiron E1505 PC Notebook

I got this notebook for college from my parents. I had a choice of several brands, but I went with Dell because of past experience (my dad owns a Dell desktop that he's had for 7 years and it's still running great) as well as cost. I went with the E1505 because while it wasn't as fast as the E1705, it was cheaper and it was smaller/lighter (since I'm a college student I have to lug the notebook around the campus).

A couple of not-so-good things to point out... While the E1505 looks great and sleek, after a bit of use it starts to look worn down. I've had this notebook for about 18 months, and the silver paint/coating has worn off in some places, scratches are noticeable on the cover, and the speakers are scratchy. Also, the hinges for the screen are flimsy and don't secure the screen so it can flip back and forth.

Overall, however, this is a high-quality notebook which I expect to last through the rest of my college studies. Dell is one of the better computer manufacturers out there, and......
