Oscar Mayer wieners have been around ever since I was a kid and I am sure about forty years before that. They have great TV ads and you think you're getting a great hot dog. But when you actually put one in your mouth it's a whole different story. I mean, they just never seem to live up to their name. However, I will eat one but I prefer Nathan's...

DietCokeMan500 says "Excellent film prints but ..." about Gidget

This series came out when I was around five years old, and for some reason I still remember it. It certainly wasn't because I liked it but maybe because the following year Sally Field returned to ABC with "The Flying Nun," a series I and other kids enjoyed at the time. When I saw that there was only one season for "Gidget" and that it was being released on DVD in its entirety I decided to get it for my TV shows on DVD collection. — Well, forty some years haven't changed my overall opinion of the show. It is a struggle to get through each episode because the show simply isn't that funny or entertaining. However, one can appreciate the fact that the 1960s are forever captured in these episodes. You can enjoy everything from the bikinis and swimsuits of the day, to right down to the food products Gidget eats like Golden Creme ice cream, a half gallen round container we used to buy for ourselves back in the day with that same same design. —...

You can never go wrong with Maxell blank DVD-Rs. They are reliable and dependable each and every time. I try to buy them in packs of 100 when on sale. My only complaint is the fact that they haven't changed their coffee color design the last 3 or 4 years and it needs to go. The bright yellow color a few years back before this color was best and they really stand out. — I highly recommend! —...

DietCokeMan500 says "Great design but bad product!!" about Memorex (3202-5665) DVD-R Storage Media (10 Pack)

Bought several of these 10 packs at Big Lots thinking I had found something fantastic, because I liked the design on the blank discs very much. Took them home, marveled at how great they look but soon discovered that 3 out of every 10 discs are defective. A friend back east bought them as well and had the same problem. — I don't know why Memorex blank media products have so many problems but this is just another reason why I have always stayed away from their products. —...

I became a cat lover about 14 years ago in my early thirties and so when it came to buying cat food for my precious GG, a wonderfully feminine black cat, I eventually turned to Meow Mix thanks to their longtime running cat commercials I had seen since my teens. Not only does GG love it but she won't touch anything else! And hasn't for most of these fourteen years. — Also, the stray cats who explore my yard love it, and so do the birds and their friends who swoop down on it. The squirrels show up and eat it, the possoms at night looking around for food come and munch it, and even our neighbor's dog sneaks into our yard and eats it. I don't know what they put in Meow Mix but GG and company love it. — I highly recommend this cat food. —...

DietCokeMan500 says "An excellent printer, scanner and copier!" about Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-In-One InkJet Printer

One of the reasons I always shyed away from buying a second printer is the high cost of ink cartridges. So until recently in 2008 I had been without a printer for almost eight years. — When I saw the 30 minute infomercial late one night about the EasyShare 5300 Kodak printer offering black & white ink cartridges at $9.95 each and $14.95 each for color, my ears perked up. I watched the infomercial, watched the comparisons and ended up buying one later in the week. — Yes, it is true. This printer from Kodak uses ink cartridges from the prices I stated above, sold in most retail stores. Their claim is that not only is their Kodak ink cheaper but will last on photos and documents for years longer than regular inkjet cartridges, due to an ink that Kodak has developed. You also get about 50% more photos/documents than you would with the expensive ink cartridges most stores sell today. That is their selling point and it is all true....

I always had problems with their blank VHS videocassettes back in the 80s and 90s, so I wasn't expecting much when I bought Sony's brand of blank DVD-Rs. To my surprise they turned out to be a very good brand, and I have bought several hundred over the last couple of years that I've owned a home DVD recorder. — I like the fact that Sony makes their discs available in speeds 1x thru 16x because I still have a Panasonic DVD recorder that won't accept anything higher than 4x speed. So Sony's come in real handy for this reason. — I definitely recommend this brand to anyone who's shopping around for blank DVD-Rs. —...

DietCokeMan500 says "A nice surprise" about Philips (DM4S6B50F/17) (Pack of 50) (DM4S6B50F17) 16x DVD-R Storage Media

I had been wanting to try this brand of blank DVD-R for the last year or two, being someone who has owned home DVD recorders since 2002 and someone who does an enormous amount of recording. When I bought and began using them I was truly surprised that this is a high quality and reliable brand. I say reliable because the last thing you want to buy is a brand of DVD-Rs that ends up giving you defective discs too often, which is the Memorex brand. I would definitely recommend these to anyone who uses blank DVD-Rs. — I also like the designs on the discs, one of the best, but I'm afraid the design takes up half of the writing space. Philips needs to change this. Otherwise this is an excellent brand. —...

I was finally able to save up the money for this much talked about box set of "I Love Lucy," which includes the much talked about "I Love Lucy Movie" which was filmed but never released. — First of all, this box set includes all 6 seasons of "I Love Lucy" plus the 3 seasons of "The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour," which some say is an extension of the original series after it ended. In addition to owning this classic and much beloved series, an important reason to get this is because it includes one episode in color! The "Lucy In Scotland" episode, you know, the one where Fred and Ethel are dressed up as a two headed dragon in one of Lucy's dream in which they want to eat her. After watching this beautifully colorized episode I hope that someday all 179 episodes will be fully colorized such as this one. It is something else to see Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel in color after so many years in black and white. — There are many bonus features on this set, inluding an...

DietCokeMan500 says "Who needs the verbal abuse?" about Hell's Kitchen

I watched the entire first season of "Hell's Kitchen" when it first came out with my wife because we enjoy reality television. The Fox network always has interesting reality based TV shows. But when it came to watching the second and third seasons I chose not to watch because I can't understand why anybody would want to be verbally abused by chef Gordon Ramsey. He might have been interesting at first because he was "different" but when I think about watching an episode of "Hell's Kitchen" I can only see that mouth of his spewing the nastiest remarks out and I simply change the channel. — Maybe if chef Gordon Ramsey changed his attitude and became a more calmer man, I might watch again. But for me this show is history. —...

I shop at Amazon.com on a regular basis. I'd be pretty much lost without them. — I always shop at Amazon.com for DVDs and CDs. I wouldn't shop anywhere else. I am able to keep all the items I find in my Amazon shopping cart, for which I check on a daily basis for price decreases and increases. When something I like goes on 40% off BOOM I buy it and combining another item I qualify for free shipping on orders over $25.00. — I love shopping at Amazon.com so much that when they do have a sale I bang my head against the wall trying to figure out what to buy, how many to get or what. I really like their prices. This week they offering gift wrap at only 99 cents each! — One good reason why I rave so much about Amazon.com is that I can buy with confidence. If I encounter a problem their customer service is there to help me and ready to resolve any issues.
I have been a MyPoints member for seven years now and since the year 2000 I've have earned many, many $50 gift cards by simply reading the emails and clicking the links provided or by making online purchases via the MyPoints website. It's wonderful! — MyPoints does not sell your email address. However, when choosing to read the emails use your best judgement on who to buy or register with. I go with namely popular and trusted websites such as Circuit City, Office Depot, Kodak, QVC, HSN, and so on. They won't sell my email address either. But once in great while you will register with a website that will sell your email address and the only way to handle the problem is to simply change your email address. But that small risk is worth it to earn $50 gift cards throughout the year.
After waiting more than a few years to buy my first digital camera I recently decided to purchase this EasyShare Kodak camera z1275. It's been one of the best decisions I've ever made! I've had experience with digital cameras before, having worked with or borrowed one from a friend. So I was familiar with what to look for in a digital camera. — Most of my friends had a 3 or 4 megapixel camera. I knew that digital cameras were going as high as 7 megapixels in 2007, so I knew I had done the smart thing by waiting a few years. When I saw this Kodak EasyShare camera having 12 megapixels and I saw the price, I immediately jumped on it. I've owned this camera for under a month now and I use it all the time! — The one thing I love the most about my camera besides the 5 optical zoom lens is that when I take a photo in the 12 MP mode, I can later crop the photo and get a close-up of my subject from over 100 feet away with no...
