DietCokeMan500 says "Fast food on a budget!" about Del Taco - Burbank,, CA

Del Taco is a fast food restaurant chain here in Southern California and they can be found everywhere. The first time I ever ate at Del Taco in 1978 I didn't like their food much. But over the years I gave them another try and when I have needed to take a break from the golden arches or the other mexican fast food chains I stop at Del Taco.

Every Tuesday night Del Taco has Taco night offering three tacos for $1.09. Their classic tacos which are normally $1.00 each are 3 for $2.09 on Taco Night. While Del Taco tacos are not the best tasting tacos, you can get a whole bunch on taco night for the entire family.

I like their hamburgers because they are more than well done. They are almost crispy and they are on their value menu for a buck each.

Del Taco also offers quesadillas which are quite good. A bit expensive but Del Taco offers coupons through the mail where you can buy one get one free. I usually buy them then when I have a coupon.

DietCokeMan500 says "Great tasting meat!!" about McDonalds angus burger

McDonald's new Angus burger, which was introduced here in California first before the rest of the country, is a great tasting burger. It's an expensive hamburger but when you need a change in taste from other burgers the angus burger from McDonald's will take care of that problem for you.

I always get mine plain because I've always been that way when it comes to burgers. I always just prefer the meat and the cheese, and sometimes an occasional mustard and catsup spread on. As a big guy I need two of these to get filled up which runs close to ten dollars. But as I said if you need a break from an everyday hamburger this one will do the trick.
...

DietCokeMan500 says "One of my favorites!" about Verbatim (95037) 16x DVD+R Spindle (50 Pack)

Next to TDK and Maxell DVD-R blank media discs, Verbatim is one of my favorites. The discs are of high quality which always gives me a great recorded picture on my home DVD recorder. They are reliable discs and they also seem to burn faster than any other when used in my computer. Why that is I don't know.

My only complaint is that they need to change their appearance. For as long as I can remember now their blank DVD-R discs have always been just plain silver with their logo. I'd like to see Verbatim come up with a new design and maybe some colored discs.
...

DietCokeMan500 says "Interesting design, reliable" about LG DVD-R 50 pack

I have never seen blank DVD-R discs from LG before. But when I saw some being offered by Circuit City.com which is under new ownership, I was intrigued. I especially like the light blue design on the discs which are fishes swimming. So, I though I would buy a pack and try them out.

The design on the discs is nice and quite different. But what really matters when it comes to blank DVD-R media is the quality. I am pleased to report that the discs hold up fine and I encountered NO problems with the discs so far.

DietCokeMan500 says "Inexpensive and good, once in awhile." about On-Cor Family Size Lasagna

On-Cor frozen family dinners have always been very inexpensive. For just a couple of dollars per package you get a hefty size portion of your favorite meal that if family sized oriented. For example. The Family size Lasagna dinner is very affordable and there's enough for a family of four. However, as good as it might be it does taste like the pasta you buy out of a can. For true lasagna lovers that might be a problem. For me I don't have a problem with pasta in a can. I'm on a budget and I have to buy what I can afford. This family size frozen dinner is good and I do recommend it if you buy canned pasta like Chef Boy-ar-dee and Franco American.
...

DietCokeMan500 says "Tastes really good!" about Hawaiian Punch - Sugar Free Hawaiian Punch Juicy Red

This turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I can't drink regular Hawaiian punch as I am a diabetic. So I have to be careful avoiding sugar in beverages. Since this is sugar free and is made with bottled water I though I would give it a try. This was one of the best decisions I ever made. I absolutely love it! It's got a great, sweet taste and doesn't taste sugar free at all! Plus, it's fun to take one of your regular bottled waters, open the skinny, long powder mixes and pour it in. Shake well and before you know it your chilled water is juicy red sugar free Hawaiian punch! The powder mix tastes so good that I bet this makes great freezer pops and other treats.

The box of 10 mixes only costs a dollar so for under a buck you get 10 sparkling bottles of sugar free Hawaiian punch bottled water. I love it so much that I am drinking it all the time and saving money from buying sugar free 2 liter bottles of soda. I highly recommend!
...

DietCokeMan500 says "A good bargain for a quick meal" about Banquet Select Receipes Classic Fried Chicken

Frozen TV dinners have been a way of life for me and my family for over twenty years now. They are economical and easy to prepare.

Being budget conscience one has to buy what he/she can afford. One brand of frozen TV dinners we buy often for a dollar on average are the Banquet frozen dinners. The Banquet Select Recipes Fried Chicken dinner is usually 50 cents more, but is worth it for the nice size chunk of chicken breast you receive with each dinner.

This particular frozen dinner was recently reviewed in an article for AOL and the reviewer basically called it garbage. However, I must disagree. While KFC it isn't, it's still fried chicken and Banquet gives you a nice size portion for a buck fifty, and if cooked right, the golden batter is crispy and tasty. I always prepare all my frozen dinners in a toaster oven. TV dinners cooked in a microwave oven will lessen the quality and flavor.

With this particular frozen dinner you also receive a well of corn and a well of mashed...
...

DietCokeMan500 says "Disappointing film prints of the episodes" about Room 222 - Season One

"Room 222" was a great show for its time and rarely seen in syndication the last 30 years. So when I heard that Shout Factory was releasing Season One I immediately puchased it from Amazon.com as a pre-release purchase.

When I got the set and began watching episode Number One I was shocked. There was no restoration done for these 40 year old prints. The color was washed out and worst, the picture was grainy and fuzzy, which became a distraction to follow the episode's storyline. I thought maybe this was the pilot episode and that was the reason for the poor quality. But no. The remaining episodes were all in the same shoddy condition.

I am a big collector of TV shows on DVD and have many 40+ year old television series in my collection like "Good Morning World" (1967) and "Gidget" (1965) which were shot on film (not videotape). "Room 222" was shot on film and therefore a negative of each episode must exist somewhere. But no new prints were made which makes me wonder why...
...

After buying eeboo's Classic Matching game and being impressed with their standard of high quality craftsmanship, we decided to add another matching game to the family game chest. This one being the Candy Matching game, which contains 24 pairs of classic candy images such as: lollipops, gumballs, Smarties, candy necklace, carmels, Good N Plenty, and many other delightful candy pictures.

The 24 pairs are made of high quality, durable cardboard and therefore easy for hands to pick up, flip over and match. The box itself is a work of art which has us out running for more eeboo products.

The product is a bit more expensive than other matching games but when considering its high attraction factor and durability, its worth it for the family. The product can be found at Amazon.com for free shipping so in the end its all good.

Definitely consider trying eeboo. They have many matching games to choose from with various subject images like dinosaurs, insects and circus animals.
...

I bought this to replace my 1971 Milton Bradley edition of "Memory" which I had as a young child and introduce it to my family I am glad I did as this turned out to be a wonderully made product from eeboo. There are 24 pairs, each with delighful pictures of simple images like heart, car, house, mouse, crayons, chocolate cake and others. The squares are of high quality and they are very durable, easy to pick up.

Once you have the game in your hands you know that eeboo puts a great deal of care and quality into their games. This will last a lifetime and is sure to become a family keepsake. The kids love the pictures and everyone has fun finding the pairs. I highly recommend this game.
...

Snapfish has become one of my new favorite online sites. I bought a 12 MP digital camera from Kodak a year ago, and I find it ridiculous to spend money on ink for my printer when I can get printouts online for just pennies. Snapfish, one of a few online photo sites that I have tried, enables me to buy all kinds of prints from my photos at a very affordable price. Plus, they offer many sales throughout the year on prints and I, of course, take every opportunity to use the online coupons they send out.

My digital prints come out beautifully. Their prices are so affordable that I can often get double and sometimes triple prints to send to family and friends.

I would give Snapfish a try if you haven't already. I'll be doing business with them for a long time to come.
...

This series came out when I was around five years old, and for some reason I still remember it. It certainly wasn't because I liked it but maybe because the following year Sally Field returned to ABC with "The Flying Nun," a series I and other kids enjoyed at the time. When I saw that there was only one season for "Gidget" and that it was being released on DVD in its entirety I decided to get it for my TV shows on DVD collection.

Well, forty some years haven't changed my overall opinion of the show. It is a struggle to get through each episode because the show simply isn't that funny or entertaining. However, one can appreciate the fact that the 1960s are forever captured in these episodes. You can enjoy everything from the bikinis and swimsuits of the day, to right down to the food products Gidget eats like Golden Creme ice cream, a half gallen round container we used to buy for ourselves back in the day with that same same design.

I know "Gidget" is popular with a lot of people...
...

DietCokeMan500 says "My kitties won't eat anything else!" about Meow Mix Original Choice

I became a cat lover about 14 years ago in my early thirties and so when it came to buying cat food for my precious GG, a wonderfully feminine black cat, I eventually turned to Meow Mix thanks to their longtime running cat commercials I had seen since my teens. Not only does GG love it but she won't touch anything else! And hasn't for most of these fourteen years.

Also, the stray cats who explore my yard love it, and so do the birds and their friends who swoop down on it. The squirrels show up and eat it, the possoms at night looking around for food come and munch it, and even our neighbor's dog sneaks into our yard and eats it. I don't know what they put in Meow Mix but GG and company love it.

I highly recommend this cat food.
...

One of the reasons I always shyed away from buying a second printer is the high cost of ink cartridges. So until recently in 2008 I had been without a printer for almost eight years.

When I saw the 30 minute infomercial late one night about the EasyShare 5300 Kodak printer offering black & white ink cartridges at $9.95 each and $14.95 each for color, my ears perked up. I watched the infomercial, watched the comparisons and ended up buying one later in the week.

Yes, it is true. This printer from Kodak uses ink cartridges from the prices I stated above, sold in most retail stores. Their claim is that not only is their Kodak ink cheaper but will last on photos and documents for years longer than regular inkjet cartridges, due to an ink that Kodak has developed. You also get about 50% more photos/documents than you would with the expensive ink cartridges most stores sell today. That is their selling point and it is all true.

So, I am writing this review to say this was a smart...
...
