Deevamom511 says "BEST Tan Ever" about L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Gelee

I had decided that I would do the "tan in a bottle" this year as opposed to paying to tan. Besides, I figured I'm less likely to get skin cancer going this route. I was skeptical to say the least. I did a lot of homework and read as many reviews as I could find about the products that I thought I'd want to try.

After reading about the Loreal Sublime Bronzer in Real Simple magazine and viewing reviews here I decided to give this one a try because it was rated one of the best bronzers among those that the panelists had tried at Real Simple.

Initially Sublime Bronze appealed to me because while doing my research I'd found out that this didn't have the "orange glow" so common with the tan in a bottle. I picked the gelee over the lotion available because I have oily skin and lotion always seems to feel heavy to me.

I tried the bronzer for the first time Mother's Day morning. I was amazed, by 4 PM that dayI was already developing color that you could see. I've continued to...
...

Deevamom511 says "Better then nothing" about Sprint Nextel

I live in a rural area. Prior to deciding to get away from the Tracphone I had at the time, I decided to do some homework about which national providers were available and provided decent coverage in our area. I settled on Sprint because I had tried out the coverage got decent reception. Also, they were affordable, had free long distance and also offered free home long distance (up to 50 minutes per month). Due to the fact that I traveled quite frequently at that time to the Arlington Heights IL area I felt Sprint would be the best choice for me. I went to the local Sprint store and got all set up.

For the first 2 years everything went OK. I'd never had a need to contact customer service and the only dropped calls I had were due to my location. 18 months ago, I added 2 additional phones to the family plan I already had. I was told that I could add up to an additional 5 phones at 9.99 each per month. My mom decided it was cheaper to pay me $10 per month then it was to...
...

Deevamom511 says "We were fooled" about Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina - San Diego, CA

Pick a different place to stay!

My 18 YO daughter and I decided to take a mother-daughter trip last summer. We wanted to go somewhere neither of us had been before and finally settled on San Diego. When we began looking at where to stay we saw the beautiful pictures and found out that we were able to get what we thought would be a great room on the club floor for a steal. We couldn't have been more wrong and disappointed.

In one of the descriptions we read that the hotel had a free hotel shuttle within 5 miles of the hotel. When we inquired about this we were offered a rental car for the day at a reduced rate. And by the way, if we wanted to keep it we would have to pay $26 to park it overnight. We really didn't want a rental car but felt we had no choice and reluctantly did it for that first day. We weren't told that one of the trolley's would pick us up and had stops at several of the tourist hot spots we'd planned on visiting. The concierge never told us about this trolley...
...

Deevamom511 says "Reminds me of San Diego" about Yankee Candle Sun & Sand Housewarmer Candles

Sweet memories of the beach

I love ALLYankee Candles but this one is by far the best. I picked up one of these for myself and my sister. Each time that I light this it reminds of a trip my daughter and I took to San Diego last summer and the afternoon we spent on the beach at Coronado Island.

I am a self-professed candle freak and Yankee are the only candles I will burn. They are the only candles I've found that keep their scent. Most often it seems you smell a candle in the store, bring it home, light it and the scent doesn't last. My husband who is the "King of cheap" will only let me buy Yankee Candles. (When they're on sale of course!)

This scent is my absolute favorite. I even bought the car air freshener version for my truck.
...

Deevamom511 says "Worth Seeing" about Fool's Gold

Worth the money to see

I could'nt wait for this to come out. I thought that the chemistry between Matthew and Kate in How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days was fantastic. I was so pumped when I knew that they'd be working together again.

The first 20 minutes was Matthew topless who could not like that. I think that the surfer look works for him. For us this was non-stop laughs. There wasn't a whole lot of swearing or anything which I felt was refreshing in a PG13 movie.

Donald Sutherland was very refreshing in his role as well. For us, it was non stop laughs. I can hardly wait for these 2 to work together again. They are the new Meg Ryan/Tom Hanks.

See this movie in the theather and then buy it on DVD. You'll be glad you did.

...

Deevamom511 says "Best Magazine EVER!" about Real Simple Magazine

No home should be without a subscription to this magazine!

I can't remember when I first picked this magazine up, but from that moment on I became a loyal subscriber. Real Simple has something for everyone. It's easy to read, always covers a large variety of topics and has beautiful pictures.

My favorite monthly feature are the product reviews. They always pick several things from clothes to make-up and food. The brands that they review range from the inexpensive to the expensive. They actually have staff members and readers use the products and then provide opinions. In the review they rank the top 3 as good, better, and best. They almost always include a few honorable mentions as well. To me, this means all the reviews are unbiased. You can't get a more honest review then from someone with nothing to gain.

The organizational tips are also incredible. I've actually made a few changes to my life based on tips and suggestions that I garnered from the articles. I...
...

Deevamom511 says "Only read this IF you borrow it." about It's All About Him Finding The Love of My Life

Buyer Beware!

I had heard about this book coming out on my local country station. I thought it would be nice to get some insight into what it's like to be the wife of a country music superstar and learn how she coped during their seperation. I could not have been more disappointed by what I read.

This book is about Denise Jackson and her life since she met Alan Jackson when she was 16. She does covers the down and out times before Alan made it big but only briefly. She also talks about life today but only from a distance. A lot of the book focuses on scripture and how she relates various scripture passages to her life today. Included are several pictures on her and Alan as children, pictures from their personal album today and some nice pictures of their 3 girls.

Within the first few pages I had lost interest. I did finish the book hoping it would get better, but no luck. For most of the book Mrs. Jackson talked about her faith and how to pray and actually included...
...

Deevamom511 says "ESCAPE rules!" about Ford ESCAPE XLT - 2008

I got my new Escape in October. Living in rural Wisconsin a vehicle like this is a MUST. I traded in my van for this. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS VEHICLE. I can't say enough good about it. The Escape will go through any amount of snow. Because I have a commute on major highways, I knew that it was time to trade in the van for something with better ground clearance. My husband drove it during a snowstorm recently and was pleasantly surprised at how well it handled. Track control is a wonderful feature. Sadly, we didn't get the 4 wheel drive and I do wish we would have. I will definately think about it for the next Escape.

At the time we purchased this, Ford was offering the Moon & Tune package. I got a moonroof and a one year subsricption to Sirius satalite radio. I will never again go back to local radio. Satalite is fantastic. We had the same radio station on all the way accross the state. The reception is incredible.

My Escape is Vista Blue and I get more...
...
