DandSGrandma says "Don't know what I would do without it!" about Bissell Proheat Deep Cleaner Vacuum

This is a terrific machine! It not only shampoos the carpet - it pulls stuff out that the vacuum missed!

Lightweight - no, but it is maneuverable. And the hand tools that come with it are really great on the furniture.

The one - and only - downside is that the "dirty water" tank is hard to clean out completely. The last time I used the machine, my husband and I just about took it totally apart to get the sand and grit out of the *catch* tank.
...

DandSGrandma says "Can you say "RIP-OFF"?" about Pasta Magic

Ishtar is so RIGHT! This thing is a rip-off!

Also correct is the statement about the amount of time it takes; more than the time to cook it on the stove! Granted, there is less to wash, but the time - and QUALITY - of the pasta make this item a Stay-Away-From!
...

DandSGrandma says "GREAT phone!" about Motorola - V3 Cell Phone

We got the Motorola V3Razr phones about 2 years ago, and they have been nothing but GREAT! The size is perfect, the batteries last forever before needing to be recharged, and they REALLY take a beating (my husband drives a truck, and is always laying on it while tieing down his loads!).

I don't know how many times I have dropped mine (multi-tasking!), but it always works! When we first got these, our puppy "borrowed" mine to play with, and took it outside; after 1 1/2 days - I was outside, and heard my phone ringing! There it was on the ground, with the back missing (never did find that - had to get a new one!), and after being used as a puppy toy, sprinklered on (back lawn), and whatever else - I picked it up and answered it!!!!!!

This phone will take anything that you can dish out and come back for more!

BTW - YES, I have the pink one (with matching Bluetooth!)...............
...

DandSGrandma says "AMEX has always done right by us" about American Express - Blue

We have never had a major problem with AMEX, and we have had various cards from them over almost a 25-year period. Their customer service has always been helpful and polite - and they have REAL PEOPLE answering the phones!!!! (Yes - you have to go through the computer thing, first! But I have never had to wait more than a few minutes.....)

Recently, their security office called me to ask about some *strange* activities on my card, and - come to find out - someone had stolen my number! As soon as I verified that I had not made the purchases, their customer service took over, and took care of everything!

But - that's the kind of service I have come to expect from American Express..............
...

DandSGrandma says "We're lucky to have a WINCO Foods" about Cascade Pride All flavors

I used to LOVE Dunkin Donuts whole bean coffee - then I discovered Winco Foods, and their store-brand! Cascade Pride has the BEST coffee beans I have ever used, and the price can't be beat - at $5.99/pound!

I have tried all of their "regular" (NOT decaf) flavored coffees, and they are the BEST! The chocolate macadamia nut is my favorite, followed by - in no particular order - creamy caramel, vanilla bean, coconut cream.....Oh, heck - PICK ONE!!!!! They are all good!

For those of you who are not familiar with Winco - they are only here on the West Coast. But I do hope - for all of my East Coast friends - that they will spread across the country very shortly!
...

DandSGrandma says "Grind & Brew - the BEST coffee, EVER!" about Cuisinart Grind and Brew - Thermal Coffee Maker

Although I do not have this particular model - I do have a Grind & Brew (10-cup, non-thermal carafe), and I ADORE IT!!!!!!! You simply put water in the tank, beans in the grinder, turn it on, and come back to the FRESHEST cup of coffee you can get!

Clean-up is a snap; I generally rinse out the grinder and basket parts - with maybe just a little help from my sponge - and set it aside to let the parts air-dry. I put it into the dishwasher about once per week - top shelf - and it is still working after 4 years!

Okay - it's a tiny bit noisy - but no more so than any other coffee grinder. And there is only one thing to clean up after, rather than the grinder AND the pot!

It is a little pricier than other coffeemakers out there, but for the quality and convenience offered - I think it's a terrific buy!

Seriously - this is the BEST thing that Cuisinart makes!!!! And I own a LOT of Cuisinart!
...

I have used ProFlowers on a number of occasions, and have never had a problem. At one time, I even called them to change the delivery date, and got nothing but great service.

The flowers have usually been for my Mother-In-Law, for various occasions, and she has always reported back that the flowers were fresh and beautiful (and she should know - she grows many of her own!).
...

We have had Safeco for more than 30 years. Over that period of time - we have had several claims, and all were taken care of in a VERY timely manner, and with no worries or fussing on our part.

As for the rates going up ---------What ISN'T?????

Still haven't found a company that can beat the rates we have with SAFECO.
...

We got this movie for our grandchildren, and we expected "cute"....What we got was "CUTE"! We all just about fell off our chairs over Alvin in the dishawasher ("....waiting for the rinse cycle!"), Alvin trying to "help" Dave with his date, and all the other Alvin stuff. (I was kinda hoping that Simon and Theodore would have bigger parts, but it is - after all "Alvin and the Chipmunks").

Since we got the DVD - we have had MANY "movie nights", and this DVD is right at the top of the list!
...

Who knew that you could become a "forensic expert" by watching TV?

The cast is really great together, and seem to play off well against one another.

However - now I find myself watching the news way too much, and wondering why so many crimes are going "unsolved"! If they can figure all this stuff out in just one hour in Las Vegas - why can't they do the same thing in LA, San Francisco, or Chicago (they do it in Miami and New York, too!)?
...

I think this show is *somewhat* interesting - but I could never eat in one of his restaurants! I would be constantly wondering if he treats his staff like he does the "contestants" - the verbal abuse, sarcastic (mean) comments, and the constant yelling and swearing!

I have watched the show a few times, but can't watch the whole thing, as I find Ramsay disgusting!
...

DandSGrandma says "Terrific site to do business with!" about Overstock.com

I have been shopping at Overstock.com for several years. I don't remember what my first purchase was, but I remember that I had been looking everywhere for it, and that Overstock offered it for a LOT less than anyplace else!

I have since purchased several items from them, and have only had to make a return once - and that was handled in a speedy and courteous manner by their customer service department. And the reason for the return? I didn't like it..........Not too many companies would have sent a "Return Service Order" for that kind of reason!

They have a really great reputation (IMHO) for shipping promptly. I have never had to wait more than 10 days for anything to be delivered. Considering that they have a $2.95 flat rate shipping fee - that's pretty good. I have paid considerably more at other places, and have had to wait and wait for delivery.
...

This is the best phone I have ever had....Works whenever needed, charges in no time (when turned off), and is of excellent overall quality. The fact that it also takes pictures is a BIG PLUS, as I have grandchildren - can't carry around a camera EVERYWHERE I go......But the cell phone is always with me when I go out.

I have the PINK one with the PINK bluetooth, and I really enjoy the "hands-free" aspect. I am one of "those people" who always pulled over before using my cell, whenever I was driving, and it's nice to know that I can just keep on truckin'. Add to that the fact that *most* states are now or soon will be requiring hands-free communications, and I figure that I'm ahead of the game..............

...
