this2shallpass19 says "I can't believe Trader Joe's sells this stuff!" about Moskovskaya Russian Vodka

I shop at Trader Joe's pretty frequently and it's very rare that I am totally disappointed in something I bought there, however, Moskovskaya Russian Vodka is a total disappointment!

The majority of the alcohol I drink is either wine, vodka or tequila. Trader Joe's has excellent prices on beer, liquor and wine, so I tend to buy the majority of my alcohol there. The last time I was at Trader Joe's, I decided to try a new bottle of vodka they had, Moskovskaya Russian Vodka. It was only $8.99 and has a label that looks like a knock-off of Stolichnaya, my favorite vodka, so I decided to give it a shot.

Moskovskaya Russian Vodka is 80 proof, 40% alcohol, made with 100% grain and imported into the USA from Russia. The label reads: "Moskovskaya is the most distinctive vodka in the world. Distilled from rich grain and finished with pure glacial waters, Moskovskaya is imported from Russia, the birthplace of great vodka."

I have made several drinks with this vodka, and each and every time...
...

I received a free sample of Huggies Supreme Little Movers Diapers in the mail the other day from one of the online sites I visit for free samples. I currently use Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers, so I was interested in seeing what the difference was between these two kinds of Huggies diapers.

My son's regular diaper, Huggies Snug & Dry, has a pretty straight line from the front to the back when you spread the diaper out flat. The Huggies Supreme Little Movers Diaper has a more hour-glass shape to it so that it is tailored to fit the baby's body better. This diaper has stronger, more durable tabs than my regular diaper and I definitely like these new tabs better.

Besides the contoured shape, I also love that it is nice and thick. My son wore this diaper while playing and also while he was taking a three hour nap and when he woke up, this diaper performed great, just like the Snug & Dry Diapers do.

Basically this diaper has strong, sturdy tabs and a contoured shape to adhere to a moving...
...

AnnaBanana says "A great treat but -- Chocoholics, don't hold your breath!" about Skinny Cow Low Fat Fudge Bars

Just in time for Thanksgiving, I found another "alternate" dessert since one cannot live by Pumpkin Pie alone. If you've eaten a big dinner or it is getting late in the evening and you just want a light sweet snack, you might want to try Skinny Cow Low Fat Fudge Bars which are delicious big hunks of ice cream firmly grounded on a sturdy stick for convenient indulging. These frozen bars don't really taste like a low-fat product -- alas, they do not really taste much like chocolate either! To all the Chocoholics out there, I can save you a lot of time and disappointment by advising you to look somewhere else for your true fudge fix.

STATS:

A 74 gram frozen bar is considered to be a single serving containing 100 calories with 10 calories from fat. There are 1 gram Total Fat, a half a gram Saturated Fat, zero Trans Fat, 3 mg. Cholesterol, 45 mg. Sodium, 22 grams Total Carbs, 4 grams Dietary Fiber, 13 grams Sugars and 4 grams Protein. Also included in each bar are 2% (D.V.) Vitamin A, 4% Iron,...
...

this2shallpass19 says "Love it, love it! I love Skindecent Salt Glow Body Scrub!" about Skindecent Salt Glow Body Scrub

In one of my recent Skindecent orders, I decided to try something new: Skindecent Salt Glow Body Scrub. I have already tried the Skindecent Sheen Appeal Body Scrub which is a sugar-based scrub, but now I wanted to try this one because it is a salt-based scrub.

Not only is Skindecent Salt Glow Body Scrub a salt-based scrub, it is made with dead sea salt, which is known for it's detoxifying properties. As with all Skindecent products, you can pick which scent you want your product to be made with and it will be custom made for you. I chose the scent Orange Sherbert and absolutely love it. It's a creamy, orange scent that is to die for!

What I love about this scrub is how moisturizing it is. When you open the jar, you see salt with a thick layer of oil on top. Those oils are grapeseed oil and coconut oil, which are very moisturizing. Just mix up the salt and oil and lather it on your skin. It will feel pretty oily, but those oils are good for your skin and will replace...
...

There I was the other day, rudely shoving the last leftovers from Thanksgiving around, when to my horror I discovered MORE leftovers in my freezer compartment. Apparently the last time I had bought a roast chicken from Dominick's, I had not finished it and just stuffed what was left in the freezer for "later." Now here I was, with some leftover chicken and also -- as fate would have it -- most of the Del Monte convenience cut onions and celery (which I had used for my stuffing), a half a pound of baby carrots, a half a bag of egg noodles and -- most importantly -- almost an entire 32 oz. carton of Progresso 100% Natural Reduced Sodium Chicken Broth. If ever there was a time to make Chicken Noodle Soup, this was it but first I tried a little of the broth.

A BETTER IDEA

Progresso means what they say when it comes to "All Natural" as this ingredients list bears out: chicken broth, autolyzed yeast extract, sugar, sea salt, carrot puree, salt, natural flavor, chicken powder, chicken...
...

this2shallpass19 says "Hmmm....cats eating human food, what a concept!" about Fancy Feast Elegant Medleys cat food

The slogan for Fancy Feast Elegant Medleys is: "Restaurant inspired food for cats". When you see all the flavor combinations like: White Meat Chicken with Long Grain Rice and Garden Greens or White Meat Chicken w/Cheddar Cheese Souffle with Garden Greens, it makes you think - why am I buying over-priced human food for my cat?

I do buy my cat canned cat food, usually varieties that are all meat, but I had a coupon for two free cans of Fancy Feast Elegant Medleys with the purchase of a bag of Fancy Feast dry cat food, so I couldn't pass them up. I was standing in the pet aisle for quite awhile trying to figure out which of these concoctions my cat would like. These cans are more expensive than other canned cat foods, and like most Fancy Feast cans, smaller too.

Although my cat liked this food just fine, I just don't see the point in buying more expensive cat food because it contains human food. It's not like extraneous ingredients like long grain rice and garden greens were...
...

this2shallpass19 says "I don't like my eye shadow to give me a black eye!" about Ulta Mineral Eye Shadow Duo - Black Orchid

I buy a ton of my beauty products online at several different retailers, so I don't get the opportunity to see the real color of some of the make-up products I buy. Unfortunately, even if I could have seen the colors of Ulta Mineral Eye Shadow Duo in the shade Black Orchid, I still would have bought it because it's gorgeous.

Since Ulta doesn't disclose the ingredients of this product either on their website or on the product itself, I can't tell if the ingredients are worth $12.00. Ulta Mineral Eye Shadow Duo in Black Orchid is a beautiful duo of colors. One side is a frosty lilac and the other is a matte, dark purple. In the case, these colors are absolutely gorgeous and look like they would work well together. Unfortunately, that's not true.

The frosty lilac color looks the same on my skin as it does in the case, which is great. However, the matte, dark purple color was the exact color of a bruise. An eye is one place a person doesn't want their make-up to give the appearance...
...

Jolie says "buyuggsboot.net is a scam! Ugg Boots from China that are fake." about www.buyuggsboot.net

Background on Buyuggsboot.net

A friend of mine at Viewpoints recently passed along a site called www.buyuggsboot.net. She found it online. www.buyuggsboot.net is a web site that sells all styles of Ugg Boots at discounted prices.

We werent certain if www.buyuggsboot.net were the real or not. But after a thorough review of the site, we thought it was legit. Buyuggsboot.net looks like a reasonable reseller of Ugg Boots. The page is designed well, the pictures look authentic and they make claim to having the real deal. They also consistently site throughout the web site having customer satisfaction commitments.

To add to the thought it was authentic, the pricing seemed good but not amazing. As you probably know a typical pair of Ugg Boots cost about $110. On Buyuggsboot.net the cost was $89.00- approximately a $20 savings. Seemed like a good deal, but they werent so cheap that I thought it could be scam. As an aside, last year Nordstrom had a similiar sale on Ugg boots so the pricing seemed...
...

After seeing all the commercials for the new Jack In the Box Southwest Chicken Bowl, I had to have one and see what it was all about. Oh my gosh! I'm in love! Not only is it delicious, but I feel better eating this than I would eating a burger and fries.

The Jack In the Box Southwest Chicken Bowl has fajita-seasoned chicken, peppers, onions, black beans, salsa, cheddar cheese and a delicious cilantro lime sauce, all on top of rice. It smelled so good in the car, I had my husband open the bowl so I could have a bite. It was delicious! The chicken is very flavorful, the veggies are the perfect veggies to have in this bowl and the best part is the sauce. The cilantro lime sauce is a creamy sauce that is exploding with flavor. You can taste cilantro, a spicy type of pepper, maybe a little vinegar, I don't know, but it's wonderful! The chicken, veggies and cheese is all nice, but the sauce makes this bowl.

This bowl is very filling and satisfying and relatively inexpensive...
...

My family goes camping pretty frequently and on one of our last trips, our lantern broke. I bought the Energizer Weather Ready Dual Power Lantern for our most recent trip and really like it. It offers two choices for lighting: alkaline batteries, or if you are somewhere you can plug it in, a 12-volt adapter.

Energizer says that this lantern has a lifetime guarantee in workmanship and materials for the life of the lantern. The packaging states that the lantern: "provides room-filling light for up to 29 hours on one set of alkaline batteries".

I chose the Engergizer Weather Ready Dual Power Lantern over all the others for several reasons: it has two power sources , it was reasonably priced ($25), batteries AND adapter are included, and I wanted a bulb that would be easy to change when it burned out. Luckily, for me this lantern turned out to be perfect...except for one thing.

While walking around at night or using it on a table as a main light, this lantern was perfect. ...
...

As determined as I was not to ever buy anything from Heidi Klum again, I found myself falling into the vortex of the HEIDI KLUM LE HOLIDAY COLLECTION.

I was out of town and needed a nude lipstick badly. I was at a mall that had Victoria's Secret in it, and found that their lipsticks were very good for me. I happened to try on the HEIDI KLUM PERFECT LIPSTICK in EXOTIC SPICE and fell in love with it. It is perfect on my lips.

So, Heidi Klum has jumped on the LE bandwagon and caused a stir with her Limited Edition lipsticks which only come out at Christmas time. If you snooze, you lose.

WHAT IS HEIDI KLUM PERFECT LIPSTICK in EXOTIC SPICE LIKE?

HEIDI KLUM PERFECT LIPSTICK in EXOTIC SPICE is a gorgeous pink nude color. I would say that this color probably works best on cool complexions as it tends toward the pinkish side. However, each person looks so different in lipstick colors, I would not say that is written in stone.

It is rare that I am so turned off by a person that I will actually BOYCOTT something that they sell because I dislike their behavior so much. Recently, however, I had such an experience. Heidi Klum, who has been heralded as some kind of super model for years had demonstrated some of the most disappointing and frustrating behavior on her show PROJECT RUNWAY. Her behavior was SO disturbing that I decided I would not even look at any of her collections of makeup at Victoria's Secret anymore.

I was doing pretty well at this little self appointed boycott, until I was waiting for someone at Victoria's Secret one day and I began to play with the makeup. When I noticed that it was the Heidi Klum collection I quickly put it back and refused to touch it again.

Then I was on a trip and needed a natural lipstick badly. I happened to be at a mall that was selling this, and I tried it on. That was all she wrote.

I have never burned baked goods while using the Pampered Chef Stoneware pieces. In fact, my cookies look as if I bought them at a bakery- perfectly baked to a golden brown. The secret to the way it browns is in the way the stoneware is made- each piece of stoneware is formed from a natural stoneware clay that evenly distributes heat and draws moisture away from the stone. As if that isn't enough of a sell, the stone retains heat so it acts like a warming dish after the items are baked. Somehow, it doesn't burn the baked item.

Seasoning the Stone:

It takes a little getting used to baking with any piece of Pampered Chef Stoneware. After receiving one you first need to wash it with hot water. The next step is called "seasoning" the stone. This is done by either baking a couple batches of high...
...

GigiandAdonai says "Great for dancewear or for layering. " about Intimate Eve Camisole

The Intimate Eve Cami came from Sears and I can't remember the last time I shopped at Sears. I was with a friend on Saturday and she was in search of the perfect petite-sized housecoat with snaps for her 88-year-old mother. None of the anchor stores at the mall sold them so they kept suggesting we go to Sears; which really was our last department store of choice when we had Belk, Dillards and JC Penneys but we headed to Sears and while on the way to the lingerie department I spotted the camisoles. I wasn't really shopping for anything and honestly, I wasn't in need of more camisoles but they were on sale so I got me two, a pink one and a white one.

I don't wear many of the nylon camisoles that were worn 20+ years ago. I like the sporty camisoles with the built-in shelf bra. Why? Because many of the dancers realized we could wear these as the outer garment during practice because it was like a tank-top but still added some support. Those of us who are flatchested aren't really...
...

Meri says "overwhelmed and under manned..." about Sears Appliance Repair Service

We purchased all new kitchen appliances less than five years ago. They were all Kenmore products that we bought through Sears. We have had great luck with Kenmore appliances in the past and so we gave them our loyalty. It was not deserved loyalty however.

Several months ago we had to call the Sears Appliance Repair Service number to make an appointment as our dishwasher was not draining. We were given an appointment nearly three weeks into the future. The day arrived and the service tech man came and repaired the dishwasher at a tune of nearly $400. [if we had not let him repair it we would have had to pay a $65 service call fee] The dishwasher works fine again and all was well until our refrigerator went out.

One night I smelled an electrical fire smell. I went through the house trying to locate the source but couldn't find it. I decided maybe it had come in from outside. I went to bed. I noticed that the fridge was not staying cool and the food in the freezer side was thawing. I called...
...

Meri says "love the concept- service needs improvement" about Primetime on Demand

I have Time Warner Cable, telephone and internet [roadrunner] service. One of the features of the cable service is Primetime on Demand. The concept of the free service is to make primetime television shows available for those who have missed episodes for whatever reason. I LOVE the idea. The service can use some improvement though as not all of the primetime shows are archived. This can get quite frustrating so you have to know which shows will be saved on the service and pick and choose which ones you view on live TV.

The Primetime on Demand service as it exists right now covers FX, NBC, CBS, and USA networks. ABC does NOT participate in the service. The number of shows listed vary between the networks. The great part about the service is that the shows are stored up to four weeks so you could even go back and watch four shows in a row if you wanted to.

In addition to Primetime on Demand TWC also has A&E on Demand, BBC on Demand and a few others. There is also a Free Movies on Demand...
...

this2shallpass19 says "Great Mexican cookbook that's very informative and instructional" about Mexican: Healthy ways with a favorite cuisine

I really have an addiction to cookbooks. I love cooking and eating a huge variety of ethnic cuisines, so the more cookbooks I can reference the better! A cookbook that I have used for several years is Mexican: Healthy Ways with a Favorite Cuisine. I wouldn't necessarily call the recipes in this cookbook healthy, but they are good!

The book starts out with information about Mexico and their different cultures and regions, and the different food that comes out of those cultures and regions. I found that part of the cookbook to be very interesting and informative.

Another great section of this book includes Mexican food staples like: masa harina, rice, tomatillos, salt cod, papayas, black beans, etc.....and how you store, prepare and eat each item. What I really like about this book is that there are tons of pictures. Not only pictures of the finished recipe, but also instructional photos too.

The recipe chapters in Mexican: Healthy Ways with a Favorite Cuisine include:

Salsas...

...

Meri says "worst phone I've ever owned" about Samsung - A737 Slider Cell Phone

A year and a half ago my son and I bought the same phone- the Samsung - A737 Slider Cell Phone in different colors. Neither one of us has been happy with them.

After we had the phones for a two days we took them back into the Best Buy where we had gotten the phones to trade them for different phones. We explained that the reception range was horrible on them and that we had too many dropped calls. The rep installed internal antennas [at our expense] to help with the range problem. It did seem to help for a while.

My son then went back to Utah to college and of course, I stayed here in Upstate, New York. We spent a few phone calls to each other complaining about the phones but decided to suck it up and deal with the problems. As soon as the 30 day exchange period expired the phones started acting up again. My son would complain that his battery would get really hot after speaking for a few minutes. I didn't believe him and thought he was exaggerating until my phone started doing the...
...

Caprig says "WHOA! Don't Fall In The Vorrttteeeexxxxxxxx.........." about Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand Blender w/wisk & chopper attachment

My daughter has been addicted to the food channel since she was a little over a year old. Yes, you read that correctly. I gave birth to a gourmet cook.

One of the things that I would see when she was watching some of her favorite shows was the little immersion blenders. I thought they were stupid, but after seeing those shows over and over, I began to wonder if it was something I could use.

When we had to change from a stainless steel Vitamix container to a plastic one, I began to consider that perhaps I should look into an immersion Blender to avoid blending really hot foods in the new Vitamix Vita Prep 3.

WHAT COMES WITH THE CUISINART SMART STICK?

I was at a BJs Wholesale Club when I saw a SMART STICK HAND BLENDER WITH WHISK AND CHOPPER ATTACHMENT for only $32. I thought it looked like a good deal, so after lots of work combining dimes, nickels and pennies, I managed to purchase it, with the promise that if I did not like it, I could return it.

Here is what the SMART STICK...
...
