Catman says "MEOW!" about Microsoft - Xbox 360 Premium Console

Tried the PS 3, and it failed to impress. Wanted the Elite, but they were sold out everywhere. "settled" for this model, and it is fantastic! Never had a problem with it, despite having six cats rubbing against it and sleeping on it whenever I'm not looking. If that hasn't caused it to overheat, and running it 24/7 hasn't, I don't know what will. Either that or those "Three lights of Death" are burned out - but wouldn't that mean the box wouldn't work, either? I'm not a Microsoft or Sony fan, but after using both systems and finally giving up forever on the playstation, as PT Barnum said "there's a sucker born every minute!" Bye-Bye PS 3!...

Catman says "Waste of money on a DOA format - blue ray" about Playstation 3 - 40GB

I wanted a system to be able to play online games and keep my mega-computer virus free. Store was sold out of the XBox and I wanted something *now* so I ponied up (sucker!) for the playstation with all the bells and whistles, so I really screwed myself.

I'll be honest. I generally HATE Sony. This only furthered my dislike of that company. If blue ray is the future, then either they are talking about the third millenium, or I'm placing my order for a casket this week, because it is whacked! Three exchanges later it was
"Give me my money back or call my lawyer, because either you've been repacking my old system in a new box (for a new serial number) or none of these are playable." Even my 15 year old granddaughter and her boyfriends thought it sucked. "It's supposed to do that" when they hooked it up and tried to prove it worked - all the while the graphics sputtered and locked up exactly 3 minutes and 20 seconds into their demo game. The sales girl had to walk away because...
...

Catman says "Very nice, affordable laptop" about Toshiba Satellite Laptop

It started out as "something cheap" for my wife to play with, but we wound up stepping up to this Toshiba, and we both use it. We take it with us when we have to go somewhere overnight or longer. <knock on wood> It has never given us a single problem.

While it comes with the standard bunch of "trash-test" software, it doesn't take Bill Gates to remove what you don't want or need. In fact, before we left the store, their "techies" had removed most of the junk for us and had it configured for our home wireless network.

They only thing we've added to it was a cordless mouse. And the best part is, my wife of 14 years has actually been using it, and learning to get on line and use email. We've always bought high-end computers every couple years for each other, but I feel she's getting more out of this one than any other - and we both get to use it.
...

Catman says "Biggest waste of money" about Littermaid LitterMaid Self-Cleaning Litter Box LM900

We thought this might make life a little easier, with several cats in the house. Nothing could have been further from the truth!

The cats enjoyed jumping in and out of it, for fun, but when they'd try to use it, the motor startled them. And it clogged up. The litter had to be "groomed" to a specific level, but cats like to dig holes and bury their "business." That would mess the sensors up.

And try sleeping with it constantly refreshing itself! I'd rather live next to a railroad track.

Then there is the added expense of the "collection baskets." When you can get them, that is. And don't use it on carpet.

One last thing: Even with the "litter pad" this is a messy box. The cats don't always walk nicely up and down the ramp, wiping their paws. They'll jump out where ever they feel like, tracking the litter everywhere.

Save your money.

...

Catman says "Best Litterbox you will ever own!" about Omega Paw Rollaway

This is the greatest litterbox ever made, especially if you have more than one cat. We have saved over $100.00 a month on litter costs after implementing the Omega Paw litter boxes. Roll the box over, the clean litter goes behind the grill and the clumps fall into the pull out tray. We use small trash bags to empty the drawer into, then use the empty drawer to add litter to the box. Less bending, no scooping.

We have three "Jumbo" cats - 20 to 40 pounds. Sadly, Omega Paw has apparently stopped making their biggest model. Should have stocked up when they had them. Over time, they will start to crack, but we've had four of them now for over six years and they are still in great shape.

Most pet stores don't carry them "in house", but you can order them on line at several places. They just save you so much money on litter and other "supplies" I guess the stores felt they were losing too much money in litter sales.

Tried them all. Never buy an "automatic" box - they just don't...
...

Catman says "Cosmic Catnip is the greatest!" about Cosmic Catnip Alpine Scratcher

Ever since we got our first, feral kitten, she loved Cosmic Catnip treats and toys. Fourteen years and eight cats later, every cat that has come to live with us have enjoyed CC's products without exception.

Yes, it can get a little messy, between the cardboard and the catnip. That's what a broom and a vacuum cleaner are for. My wife and I have enjoyed countless hours of laughter watching our "babies" go crazy clawing away and staggering around after a good play session.

They are inexpensive, and they can be easily replace if the block gets worn down. We buy extra catnip to sprinkle on every so often, and it is like a new toy all over again.

The only real drawback is if you have big cats - over twenty pounds. We have three - an overweight Siamese, a dark rescued Bengal, and an abandoned young Maine Coon. But even if the "climber" collapses, the box is still usable and well-loved.

...

Catman says "Helping Wild cats Four Paws at a Time" about Spots and Stripes

Spots and Stripes is a grass-roots organization that doesn't talk about helping feral and wild cats - they actually get to work doing things. They take no salaries or other pay for doing what they do, so all donations go to helping the cats. They encourage others to form their own chapters to help control the feral cat populations by capture-neuter-release to prevent unwanted kittens, and they get the cats checked by vets, then continue to feed and care for the cats in their colonies.

On a global front, they provide assistance and security for leopards, cheetahs, tigers and more on reserves in their native lands.

They do not have a shelter of their own yet, but hope to someday raise the funds to build four shelters for feral cats. One for ferals/kittens that might be domesticated and find homes for; one for ferals that will never be adoptable; one more for "retired" cats whose owners have grown to old, sick, or have passed on. The final shelter would be a quarantine/hospice...
...
