Catieconner says "Love my pitties" about Dog Breed American Pitt Bull Terrier

I am the proud parent of two pitbulls and they are anything but killers. My oldest is 2 and we just brought his son home 5 weeks ago. Ive worked as a Vet. Tech. and in all my years Ive yet to be biten by a pitbulll. These dogs are what there owners make them and thanks to people like Michael Vick these dogs are given a bad rap. In England these dogs are used to care for children they are actually called nanny dogs, In World War II these dogs were sent onto the battle fields to drag back injured solders. I dont see any of thse soldiers who were saved by pitbulls saying how mean they were. People believe myths and rumors about the breed when the truth is they are so owner loyal and eager to please that they do whatevers asked of them. If they are taught that being mean and aggressive is what makes their owner happy thats what they will do. They dont have lock jaws and their is no bite test. Common myths! If you want a loyal dog get a pit!
...

Catieconner says "New meaning to fishing" about The Deadliest Catch

My husband got me started on Deadlist Catch and wow its something else. Its crazy watching these teams compete to catch crab out on the ocean. They get stuck in every storm imaginanable and all the things you wonder about on those ships out on the ocean they show it all. Ive seen men go over board and everything. It gives you a new respect for what these men are doing. Oh my god the kind of money they can make! All though I dont know if it would be worth going through some of the things they go through to make that money. I love the way they show the teams and go back and forth showing their progress. Once you start watching its easy to pick your favorite boat and cheer them on from your living room. Its fun to watch and easy to follow it doesnt matter if you miss one episode or twenty you can turn it on whenever you want and be able to pick up right where you left off. Theres not to many shows that you can do that with.
...

Catieconner says "Follow the points." about Weight Watchers

My mother and I have both tried weight watchers and had excellent results. The great thing about weight watchers is it is just that a weight watcher. you can eat everything that you eat now including fast food and all you have to do is follow the point system. For those who dont know about the point system let me give you a brief explanation. Every food is given a point value and based on your current weight and where you want to be you are given a point total. If your point total is 24 you cant eat more than 24 points in a day. All though it doesnt sound like alot it can be difficult to eat all those points. Some food are zero to few points making it easy to snack all day and never be hungry. Some days your so full you dont know if you can get those last points in, no problem you can carry them over to the next day so if you go over a few its not a big deal. Ive lost 54 pounds so far and my mom lost 120 pounds doing what you do everyday.....eating. The best thing its NOT a diet. Its learning...
...

Catieconner says "Loved it had to buy it." about Twilight - The Movie

I have never read the Twilight book series and had no idea what all the fuss was about. Someone told me it was about vampires and I thought what the heck me and the kids can watch it and see what the big deal is. We loved it so much we went back and bought it. The movie was great! Even my six year old was able to keep up with the story line and not only could she keep up she was actually into it. Its a definite movie for everyone and for once parents can watch a movie without worrying weather or not their kids are gonna see something inappropriately. Like I said Ive never read the book series but My sister has and says that while the movies leave alot out they kept the best parts in. The books would only give you more insight to the movie. After watching the first one we cant wait for the second. Its a wonderful love story between Edward the vampire and Bella the human. A love many of us can identify with. Great movie a must see!
...

Catieconner says "The WII isnt just a game its exercising also" about Nintendo Wii Console

I bought the Wii for my kids at Christmas and they love it. Some game they can sit down and play and others they have to get up and get moving. There are so many games that can be played and such a wide range of games that with four kids their is always a game to be played. The other great thing is it can make playing the game a family activity. Some games are competitive and others are just for fun. Its amazing how many different things you can do on the Wii. Not only are the games fun but some of the exercisng games are just as fun. Who ever thought it would be fun to exercise? Again even the exercising games can be done by the whole family. We love the Wii and its a great idea for families who want to play together.
...
