Brittanyls says "They pay you alright, but not for the reason you think." about cashcrate

So recently I've been searching online for ways to make money. When I stumbled upon CashCrate, I found tons upon tons of glowing reviews, and how it's a really simple, easy way to make money. The only downside, their reviews said, was that it was boring.

So, I decided to try it out.

With CashCrate, you can make about $0.25 for each "offer" you complete. Some offers actually require you to pay to complete them, but the payout is more.

After I clicked on the first offer, I immediately knew this website wasn't for me.

You've seen those advertisements on the internet, the ones that claim, "Click here for your free laptop!" or, "Is the sky blue? Click here and win money!" And, if you've every clicked on one of those advertisements, either on purpose or by accident, you will see that you are required to put in information such as your age, where you live, your phone number, e-mail address, etc. With CashCrate, every "offer" was like this.

The CashCrate privacy policy states that...
...

Brittanyls says "A way to actually make money online, but not much." about YouData

When I first signed up for YouData, I was a little bit skeptical. I didn't really know if it was a scam, or if it was genuinely a good way to make money online.

As it turned out, it is a good way to make money online.

With YouData, you are paid to look at advertisements. You make roughly around $0.10 for each one, and you can get another $0.05 if you visit that company's webpage. You only view about five advertisements on a good day. I've only viewed two a day for the past few days.

The advertisements are chosen by the preferences you put in your MeFile. It asks you questions from what kind of activities you do, to how green you are. Basically, they don't want to show an advertisements for, say, a new kind of diet if you put in your preferences that you want to maintain your current wait.

Also, the ads aren't at all obnoxious. They are very tiny, and not for any scam websites. Advertisement I have seen have been for Piperlime, Bluefly, and SoyJoy.

This website doesn't...
...

Brittanyls says "Great zoom, but you have to have a steady hand." about Canon - PowerShot SD450 Digital Camera

So, this isn't my camera, but I did have to use it for a school project. The project involved taking close up pictures of nature and insects, and boy, did this camera live up to expectations.

It's very slim and portable, and has a lot of settings that you can play around with: auto, manual, digital macro, portrait, night, my colors, kids & pets, indoor, foliage, snow, beach, fireworks, and underwater. You can also take video.

In auto, the settings are pre-selected. (Ex. flash on/off)

In manual, you can choose all of the settings, and it's just a basic picture taking mode.

Digital macro is ah-mazing when taking close up pictures! After you focus the camera, you can also zoom in more. The zoom is a little bit misleading, though. On the screen, it will look very blurry, but after you take the picture, it will become incredibly clear.

Portrait provides a soft effect when taking a picture.

Night, indoor, foliage, snow, foliage, beach, fireworks, and underwater all enhance what...
...

Brittanyls says "I hate this computer; only somewhat good for using the internet." about Acer Extensa 5620z

I absolutely hate this computer.

First of all, it is not mine, and it was only bought to be used for going on the internet, which is the only thing it is good for. I use it all the time; it is certainly much better than my seven year old Dell desktop. But it's not what you might want.

This computer has only about an hour and a half of battery life, and the screen is visibly brighter when you plug it in.

I don't know if it was just the way it was bought, but this thing came with pretty much nothing on it. Just the bare minimum, and a 60 day free trial of Microsoft Office 2007. I had to install the old 2002 version onto it.

And I use Word a lot. When I noticed that the internet wasn't really up to speed, I decided that deleting my documents would help. All 300 of them. And that was just the Word documents. I also deleted videos, pictures, music, and a bunch of other stuff that I didn't need. It did help speed up the computer a bit, but I shouldn't have to delete files...
...

Brittanyls says "I've never missed an episode!" about American Idol

I started watching American Idol the year Fantasia Barrino won, and at first I wasn't really into it.

Now, I'm hooked.

The season starts with auditions that range from comical to breath taking to a little bit creepy. Automatically, you should be able to tell who will go far, and, at a glance, who won' t even make it to the first round.

The next round is Hollywood week, the most stressful of all. The aspiring singers have to sing in front of the judges and their potential competition, sometimes in groups, which always leads to a good fight or two.

After this, there is the "chair" episode. Contestants have to be narrowed down to the top 36. So, they will make the long walk to a chair that sits in front of the judges, and await their fate.

After this, voting starts. The judges now have no say, America chooses.

This year, there was a Wild Card round, where everyone voted off has a chance to come back, but the judges choose who gets through.

In the top twelve, they are now...
...

Brittanyls says "Repetitive; the minigames were the best part." about Nintendo DS - Mario Party DS

Mario Party DS is one of those games which everyone is supposed to love, and I do.

There are five modes to play in: Story Mode, Party Mode, Minigame Mode, and Puzzle Mode. You usually start out in Story Mode, because you haven't unlocked any minigames yet, and Party Mode is boring.

In Story Mode, you first pick a character that you want to be, and then start right away. You find yourself on a giant game board like thing, where you have to roll the dice to advance. To win the game, you have to collect stars, and have more than the other players. There are about five game boards that you have to finish, and at the end of each, you have to fight and defeat the boss.

Story Mode really isn't that fun, but it's not the only way to unlock minigames. You can also unlock them through multiplayer games.

The minigames have to be the highlight of this whole thing. There are probably over fifty, and you can play them in different ways, such as in Rocket Rascals. That is where every...
...

Brittanyls says "I always use this before I buy!" about Gazaro

Have you ever wondered if you are getting the best deal on that flat screen TV? Well, Gazaro is here to help!

Gazaro is a website that shows price trending, and gives you reviews of that product all in one place!

For example, I typed in flat screen TV and clicked on something random. At Yahoo.com, this product has four and a half stars, but at Amazon.com, it only has three and a half.

When I clicked on "Show Historical Prices," near the bottom, it gave me a table of when this certain price was recorded, what the regular price is, and what this price was. For Buy.com, the regular price for this TV was $2,099. 96 days ago, the price was $898. Six days later, the price was upped all the way to $1894.06. And yesterday, the price was lowered to $800.

This website is good, because whenever you see a sale that proclaims, "Must buy now! This deal will not last!" you can see if that's really true. The only complain I have is that they are supposed to have a graph of the price trends,...
...

Brittanyls says "I am obsessed with this game!" about The Sims 2 - The Sims 2

I bought this game maybe five years ago, because I had seen someone playing the Sims 1, which looked fun, though I had never played it myself. And besides, the box did look pretty cool.

I am now proud to call myself a "Simmer."

In this game, you can start out by playing in a previously made family, or you can make your own. If you make your own, you get to choose what they look like, what they wear (to bed, to the pool, at formal parties, as underwear, etc.) and what their aspirations are. You can choose from a few aspirations, such as family, love, wealthy, and more.

After you make your Sim (or family, with teenagers, babies, grandparents, etc.) you have to move them onto either a house or lot. Houses are generally very expensive, but they are already built. If you move onto a lot, it is very cheap, but you have to build and furnish the house yourself.

Once you are settled, you can have your Sim(s) get a job, get married, have children, cheat on their spouse, etc. I, personally,...
...

Brittanyls says "I stopped playing, and then I was lost." about Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time for DS

Firstly, I just want to say that I think this game is very odd, and I don't really remember what happened.

This game takes place in the past and present. Princess Peach has been kidnapped (surprise, surprise) by the evil Shroobs, which are pretty much walking mushrooms with faces. Mario, Baby Mario, Luigi, Baby Luigi, and a talking suitcase set out to save her and rescue the Cobalt Star (which is somehow important in the game.)

Obviously, the Baby 'Bros are from the past, and the Big 'Bros are from the future. Whenever you fight someone, you earn EXP, which makes you level up. What is confusing is that in my game, the Baby 'Bros are at a higher level then the Big 'Bros, which is contradictory and impossible.

Also, this game can get very frustrating because you can't save whenever you want. You have to save whenever you see a Save Book.

It may seem like I have no idea what I'm talking about, and I don't. You see, I was so frustrated with this game, that I decided to stop...
...

Brittanyls says "My favorite game!" about Urbz: Sims in the City for DS

This game has to be my all time favorite.

You first start out by making your character, and then you take a quiz to find out which "rep group" you are in. Rep groups are almost like gangs. There are four of them: Nerdies, Richies, Streeties, and Artsies. Some Rep Groups don't like each other (ex. Riches and Nerdies). But not all Sims are in a rep group.

You then find yourself as a janitor whose just been fired in the town of Miniopolis, and you have to go on missions to progress in the game.

But remember, this is a Sims game. It's annoying when, for a mission, you have to get a 30+ relationship with someone, and then all of a sudden you have to pee. Or you announce that you smell bad and you have to take a shower.

You also have to make money by playing the mini games. It is not required, but you can also buy a bigger and bigger house, eventually getting to the biggest: the penthouse in a region of Miniopolis, Glasstown.

Also, your rep groups do not really affect the game...
...

Brittanyls says "Gets boring after a while; does not compare to Wii Fit." about Nintendo Wii - Wii Sports

Wii Sports is a great game! It came with the Nintendo Wii, so it is the first game I ever played on it.

There are five "sports" you can play with this game: tennis, baseball, bowling, golf, and boxing.

In tennis, you simply swing the WiiMote to hit the ball. In baseball, you can swing the bat or throw the ball. In bowling, you bowl the ball. In golf, you swing the club, and in boxing, you use the WiiMote and Nunchuk to hit your opponent.

Every time you play one of the sports, you acquire points towards that sport. Once you get 1000 or more points, you become "Pro." In some games, something special happenes when you are Pro, such as in bowling, where you get a special ball with stars all over it.

For each sport, there is also three training games. For example, in golf, you have to try to land the ball on a target, trying to get the highest points possible.

There is also the "Wii Fitness Age," which is a very, verydumbed down version of Wii Fit. What you do is play a series...
...

When my old mascara ran out recently, I really didn't feel like going out to buy a new one. So, I asked a friend if she had any extra, which she did. She gave an Estee Lauder Lash XL Maximum Length Mascara that she had a sample of from those free gifts with your purchase.

Let me just state for the record that I have no idea how old this thing is, so you might have a different experience.

When I first started using the mascara, it was great. It's dark, and it easily lifts and lengthens your eyelashes.

I'd been applying it for a while when I decided to breath through my nose.

I dropped the mascara brush, doubled over, and started gagging.

This thing smelled horrible.I don't know if it's just the mascara, or because it went bad and there was some rancid animal fat in it. All I know is that every time I use it, I hold my breath. And even for a little while after I stop using it, the odor is still there. (I know that there is the whole "when in doubt, throw it out" philosophy,...
...

Brittanyls says "Great contest website for women!" about Madberries

Recently, my hobby has been entering contests. Finally, I've found the perfect website that women would want to enter...and maybe there's some stuff there that guys would like, too!

Madberries is a website that hosts probably over fifty contests daily. The contests run for about two weeks each. There are five sections that the contests are divided in: Accessories, Beauty, Jewelery, Fashion, and Lifestyle. New contests are added everyday into a few categories.

The prizes are ah-mazing. They've given away makeup, $1000 gift bags, cute tees, and iPod portable speakers (I really hope I win that one! Fingers crossed!).

Not only does Madberries give away prizes, but they have a fashion blog that is updated pretty much everyday. Usually, the blog posts have something to do with what they are giving away. For example, they recently had a blog post showing Carmen Electra in some nice shades. They talked about the shades, and then mentioned that they were giving away some Marc...
...

Have you ever been so excited about a game that you decided to play it for 12 hours straight? Yeah, that's what happened after I recieved Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games as a gift.

The events on this Wii game are great: rowing, gymnastics, table tennis, etc. To advance in the game, you have to beat circuits, which can help you unlock new events.

Some events are special and very unrealistic. These are called "Dream" events. For example, in Dream Table Tennis you can do a special attack. If you are being Mario, when you do your special attack, your paddle will be on fire when you hit the ball.

The game that you should watch out for (because it is potentially injuring) is any type of running. When you run, you have to take the nunchuk in one hand, and the WiiMote in the other. Then, you proceed to shake them up and down as fast as you can. This hurts. Seriously, I contracted a temporary case of tendonitis (also known as Wii-itis) after playing this. My arms were...
...

Brittanyls says "A great game, but I feel like it still needs a little bit more." about wii - Animal Crossing: City folk

I have Animal Crossing: Wild World for DS, and it's a pretty good game. Animal Crossing: City Folk, is pretty much the exact same game, except it's been expanded.

Obviously, one of the most noticeable additions is the City. There are only a few places you can go in the City, and it's really not that fun. GracieGrace has overpriced clothing and furniture, Crazy Redd's Shop has overpriced furniture, The Marquee is where you can watch a boring show to learn an emotion, the HRA is where you can try to have your room showcased as the model room, the Auctio House is where you can auction off furniture to people that you've been on Wi-Fi with, Shampoodle is a hair salon, and Katrina's Shop is where you can get your fortune told.

I know that seems like a lot, but, if you play everyday, it gets old, and leaves you wanting more.

In your town, a lot of additions have been made. The town is noticeably bigger, and you can have up to ten neighbors in your town. Instead of each "person"...
...

Brittanyls says "An amazing game; I've never played anything like it." about Square Enix - The World Ends With You

Usually I'm not a big fan of 2D games, and more and more I've been neglecting my Nintendo DS. I've read various game magazines where this game has gotten stellar reviews, so I decided to try it out.

This had to be just about the best desicion I've ever made in my life.

The story follows Neku, a boy who likes to keep to himself. He finds himself in the center of Shibuya, and realizes that no one can see him. A mysterious text message on his cell phone tells him what to do. Neku is now part of the Game, and if he doesn't win, he disappear forever.

This game is amazing! You fight creatures called "Noise," and you use the top and bottom screen at the same time. On the bottom screen you use the pen, and on the top screen you use the the arrow keys. It is a little bit confusing at first, but you'll quickly get the hang of it.

On the bottom screen, you fight using "pins." Each pin has a certain ability. For example, if you quickly drag Neku the the left, a burst of fire might...
...

Brittanyls says "Hysterical; my favorite show!" about The Soup

I absolutely love watching TV. This show "The Soup," rounds up all the funny little clips and puts them in one show, where Joel McHale will proceed to make hilarious jokes about them.

This half-hour show has various different sections, such as Chicks Man, Chat Stew (Soooo Meaty), It's Miley!, Lets Take Some E!, Reality Show Clip Time!, The Clip of the Week, and, more recently, Stay Out of It Nick Lachey!

As you watch the show, you'll become accustomed to the various recurring jokes, and Joel's hilarious antics.

One of my favorite jokes came from last year, when Joel would sometimes play a clip of Gary Busey saying, "I going to pull your endocrine system out of your body!" Hysterical!

There are recurring characters, such as Mankini and Joel's intern (which he shoots in the chest everytime he sees him).

You should definitely give this show a try if you haven't watched it yet. I definitely recommend it!
...

Brittanyls says "Cheesy and awkward." about Twilight - The Movie

I read the book Twilight and thought it was good, if not a little bit drawn out. When I saw this movie in theaters, I saw it with friends, and thought it was great. But, yesterday, I got the DVD and watched it over and thought, "This has to be the most stupid movie I've ever seen."

First off, the cast is obviously wearing a lot of makeup, especially one character, Carlisle. It seriously looks like if someone poked his face, there would be an inch-deep hole, and their finger would be the color of snow.

Everything was awkward, when watching this move. When Bella asks vampire Edward to give here some answers, he says, "Yes, no, to get to the other side, 1.72..." It's boring, and unecessary. In one scene, they are just laying in a meadow, as Edward sparkles and Bella just lays there and just stares at him.

Some things were so outrageous they were funny, like when Bella jumped on Edward back and he ran super-fast. It was really, really fake. Or maybe when Edward climbed up a...
...

Brittanyls says "Words cannot even begin to describe my love for this book." about Gayle Forman - If I Stay

I've never felt so strongly about a book in my life.

When talented cellist Mia gets into a horrible car accident, she has an out-of-body experience. She can see herself on the hospital bed, yet she is standing right next to herself. She has to choose wheather she wants to live, or die, because death just might be easier than her fate.

This book is so sad, so inspiring, so...phenomenal, it's really hard to explain how good it is without giving anything away.

This is a "teen," book, but I'm sure people of all ages will enjoy it.

It is actually being made into a movie, being directed by Catherine Hardwicke, who directed the movie Twilight.

This is a really amazing book...I definitely recommend it!
...

Brittanyls says "Your friends will freak out when this thing reads their mind!" about Radica 20Q

For me, playing Twenty Questions with someone has never been fun, because I'm not good at guessing, so I'd need way more than twenty questions to get the answer right.

But this little electronic gizmo makes it so much more easier, and more fun.

When you first turn the 20Q on it proclaims, "I know what you're thinking!" You then choose from five categories: Animal, Vegetable, Mineral, Other, or Unknown.

For each question, you have four choices in the way you answer: Sometimes No, Yes, and Unknown (you can also choose this if the question is not related to what you are thinking.).

If the device does not guess what you are thinking after twenty questions, it will ask five more questions and then guess again.

This thing is probably right about 90% of the time, unless you are thinking of something outrageous, like "the nasal spray label." It's obviously not going to be able to guess that, so keep it reasonable. You also can't think of something new that was invented after 2003, when...
...
