Brettkatt says "A wonderful kids book with a valuable lesson for all" about Rainbow Rob

The other day my wife received an order of books, from one of the many places she orders things from. This particular order was for my daughter. The books were for her. One of the books is Rainbow Rob by Roger Priddy.

Rainbow Rob is the story of a penguin who is not happy being black and white. One day rob sees a rainbow and wonders what it would be like to be a different color. Through out Rob's adventure of trying different colors, he meets many different animals and tries out many different colors. He eventually meets animals who are black and white, just like him. He eventually settles on his natural colors.

Rainbow Rob is written in rhymes and also is illustrated very well. On the pages where new animals are introduced are touch and feel parts. For example: the red fox's eyebrows are fuzzy and the whale has a textured water spout coming out of it's blow hole.

My daughter, who is just over 10 months old, loves the book. She loves staring at the different drawings...
...

Imagine that one day you wake up and there is something different about you. At first you don't really know what is happening to you. You know you aren't sick. You still don't know what it is. All you do know is that you have an ability that you didn't the day before. You may be able to fly, you might be able to bend the space time continuum, you may be able to hear others thoughts, or you could be a homicidal maniac who removes other's brains for your own personal gain. You, my friend, are special; you are now part of the hit show Heroes.

NBC's show Heroes follows a group of different people who are all unique. They all have some special ability. Some of them are just discovering their abilities while others have had them for a long time. The main group of characters consists of a Japanese office worker and his friend, a striper, her son, and her ex-con boyfriend, a politician and his brother, and artist, a cheerleader, a cop, an artist, members of a secret underground...
...

Brettkatt says "This Toothbrush Helps Me get better Dental Checkups." about Oral-B Pulsar Toothbrush

I recently bought myself an Oral-B Pulsar toothbrush. This is not the first one that I owned. About three months ago my wife threw my first one out. She bought new toothbrushes and felt that I didn't need my Pulsar any more. Not wanting to pick my toothbrush out of the trash, I used the one she bought. I was not happy. I could feel the plaque devolve on my teeth, yuck. After some time the bush wore out, so I needed to buy a new brush. From the time this was written, I bought a new pulsar and have had it for 6 days; I can already feel a difference. The plaque that was building up is much less, in only 6 days.

I like the Pulsar because I feel it works. My teeth seem much cleaner now.

The way the Pulsar works is similar to normal brushes and there are some differences. The brush has the normal bristles on it. They are of different heights. This allows them to clean the teeth more effectively. In addition to the normal bristles there are eight rubber bristles (four...
...

Brettkatt says "A great Bluetooth product for cell phones" about Plantronics - 320 Bluetooth Headset

Recently my wife and I got some new cell phones. One of the nice features about it was that it has a speaker for hands free use. This worked for me for a little while. The problem was that I used this feature while driving and the road noise made it hard to hear anything on the phone. I decided that I needed something that will help correct this problem. I didn't want a wired earpiece. I have always found them lacking in sound quality. They also get in the way. I decided to get a Bluetooth head set. I went with the Plantronics 320 Bluetooth set.

The 320 is a simple wireless Bluetooth set. It has a built in rechargeable battery, a multi function switch (on/off, volume control, answer, end call, and setup), and it can be adjusted to fit on either ear.

When I first took it out of the box I had to be charged. Using the provided wall charger I was able to give it a full chare in about two hours. Per the instructions, the headset can stay on for up to 280 hours in standby...
...

Brettkatt says "Sci-Fi remake that is better than the original" about Battlestar Galactica

Back in 2003 Sci-Fi Channel announced that it was going to show a mini-series of a new, revision, of an old television classic. This mini-series was to be shown in December and was called Battlestar Galactica. Jump forward to now; Battlestar Galactica just finished season three.

Battlestar Galactica is a story of the human survivors, of a devastating attack by the Cylons, who are in search of a planet called Earth. While looking for Earth the survivors are also fleeing for their lives. The Cylons desire the end of humanity and are in constant pursuit of the remaining humans.

The original series was a campy space action show. It had the good guys (humans) and it had the bad guys (the Cylons). The show was complete with special effect and laser battles. In the Original, the Cylons were a bunch of evil robots that were created to destroy who ever they didn't like. It has been so long since I saw it that I don't remember who created the Cylons. I do know it wasn't the humans....
...

Brettkatt says "Interesting show about a Serial Killer" about Dexter

Recently my wife and upgraded our cable television to Digital Service with HBO, Showtime, and Starz. I also realized that I have way too much time on my hands. When I have down time, I have been watching Showtime on Demand. One of the shows I got hooked on is an Original Showtime Series. It is Dexter.

Dexter is the story of a Miami Blood-Spatter expert. He works for the Miami Police Department. Just about everyone in the department loves him and confides in him. He is just one of the guys. His girlfriend and her children adore him. His sister is his only family that is left. She too works for the department, just as their late father did. When Dexter is not hanging out with anyone he knows, he is busy stalking and killing people. That's right, Dexter is a Serial Killer.

Dexter is an adaptation of Jeff Lindsay's novel, Darkly Dreaming Dexter. I have never read the novel so I can't compare the two. As far as the show goes, I like it. I find it well written, most of the...
...

Brettkatt says "A great car that I would buy again." about Toyota Camry - 2007

In October of 06' I was in need of a new car. My wife was driving a 97' Toyota Camry. It has over 125000 miles and is still in good condition. We looked at several cars and finally settled on the 2007 Toyota Camry.

The first and most important reason we settled on the Camry was due to its safety ratings. It got good marks from both the US government and The Institute for Highway Safety. The first major feature is the 7 air bags that are in the car.. You have the drivers and passenger's bags. There side curtain air bags one each side. There is one for the driver's knees. And there are two elbow airbags; one for the driver and one for the side passenger. The car also has Anti-lock brakes and front crumple zones. And according to the dealer, the doors are lined with side impact tubes. Finally, the rear seats have latches for child car seats.

Besides needing safety I needed comfort. The cabin is very spacious for both me and all the passengers. The ride is...
...
