Bea says "Left me smiling..." about Nim's Island

Delightfully enjoyable movie. The father/daughter relationship was heart warming. Scenery was very nice, including dad/adventure hero. Loved the pets. Good message to always be prepared. The transcontinental journey was unrealistic and a distraction. Was a nice feel good movie with a bit of everything in the...

Bea says "Ann Rice it isn't but such a delightful surprise and fun book!" about La Vida Vampire

This is one of those just plain entertaining and fun books. A delightfully enjoyable read which one might not expect considering the main character is a vampire. If there is such a thing as a typical vampire, Francesca aka Cesca, is certainly not it. There is nothing typically vampirish about this book. — I would have liked more background information about Cesca and how she became a vampire earlier in the book but we eventually get it. This book is definitely a starting point for a fun series. Have to leave something for the next book. I am certainly looking forward to the rest of the series with great anticipation. — Saint Augustine is a great place for this story with its natural history and mystique. Nancy's descriptions make me want to go back to look around and see what I might have missed. — This is Nancy's debut novel and she did a fine job. I am definitely a fan!...

Bea says "Truly delightful read!" about Elizabeth Gilbert - Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India And Indonesia Books

Used to read a lot of non-fiction. Been awhile since I read anything other than fiction. This book came recommended by a group of like-minded beings. I am so glad I took action on that recommendation. This is the first book in some time to have a meaningful impact on me. Liz didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. She just said it in a way that truly resonated with me and flipped the light switch to an ah ha moment. I got it that everything is about the search for and connection between the Big I and the little i. And it has nothing to do with being self-centered. I did get a little weary with all her whining in Italy until I realized it was part of her process of learning to nourish herself. Loved the meal from a perfect peach. Then she went to India where she learned to pray and listen to her inner voice as she connected to God. Richard from Texas was a great addition. ...

Bea says "Forget it!!" about Forgetting Sarah Marshall

This movie has to be right up at the top of the worst movie ever list. Jason and his full frontal shots are definitely more forgettable than memorable. I heard him on an interview say that this movie is somewhat autobiographical. No wonder he can't get a woman to stay with him. I am not a prude but all the blatant sexuality is just disgusting. Nothing appealing about humping on a giant chess piece on the beach. The newly wed groom came out with a good line about God being a better developer than to put playground next to a sewage dump. And the popcorn was even bad that day! ...

Bea says "Absolutely a must read!!" about Christ the Lord Out of Egypt

Being a Believer, Jesus holds a special place in my life and heart. Reading this book from the viewpoint of Anne Rice about the life of Jesus as a young lad, gave me a whole other level of perspective. In no way can I say I am a Bible scholar. However, I know enough to know her facts are accurate and I believe her research to be accurate. The descriptions gave me the feeling of being right there in the midst of everything. I hated to see the last page of the story. Being a long time Anne Rice fan, the notes at the end of this story about what inspired her to write the book and her life changes were also fascinating. It gave the book even more meaning for me. I went to her website to see when the next book will be released. Much to my dismay, I discovered she supports Hillary Clinton. I won't hold it against her and still anticipate the release of the next book in the spring of...

Bea says "Adds a cute touch to the bathroom." about Cottonelle for Kids

White toilet tissue is so blah which is why I was so tickled to find Cottonelle for Kids with the puppy tracks. It made me smile. Then I discovered the design has a purpose. To teach kids how much tissue to use. What a novel idea!! Plus it gives the bathroom a touch of color. —...
