I have been using Seroquel for about 4 months now to help a mild bipolar problem that my doctor thinks I am suffering from. The med does help prvent highs and lows in behavoir and emotion, and with an increased dose at night allows me a deep and sound sleep. There are several side effects associated with this drug. Feeling a bit groggy the first 30 minutes or so upon waking, dry mouth at times, and heart burn are some of them. Another strange effect is that it seems to make my feet sensitive shortly after ingestion. Not a tingling or pain, but just very sensitive to pressure. This drug is effective and does cause some sedation, so care should be used when driving or the like when first started to be used. This drug is very expensive and is not probably suitable to those without insurance....

Inderal, and its generic cousin, Propranol, are an older chain medicine which is called a Beta blocker. It helps to reduce the heart rate and blood pressure of those who use it It kind of "lubricates the heart system, making it work more efficiently. It is also commonly prescribed for anxiety as it does two things to eliminate the physical symptoms of it. It reduces the racing heart rate, and stops any shaking or trembling. This is another factor of it being successfully used in treating things like alcohol withdraw. The drug is also extremely inexpensive, making it a prime choice for those with no health insurance....

Trazadone is one of the older sleep medicines that were utilized long before the advent of Lunesta and Ambien. Although technically considered an anti depressant, trazadone is often prescribed in such quantity when eaten before bed time it can help induce sleep. I have used it for a long time, and unlike Lunesta or Ambien, I have not developed any form of tolerance. One great thing about this drug is it's low cost. You can literally fill a month perscription for the cost of ONR Ambien pill. This makes Trazadone a very attractive option to those without health insurance. Aside from feeling a lille groggy for maybe 10 minutes after waking up, it has no residual side effects which is a blessing.

Lunesta is one of the new class f sleep aids such as Ambien or Rozarem. I suffer from sleeping problems, and my doctor suggested Ambien. It does help in sleeping, but I gave it a 3 out of 5 for two reasons. The first is that I noticed I had to increase the dosage each week to have the same effect (tolerance building). Secondly, the cost of the medicine is very high. If you do not have any health insurance, this is probably not the right medication for you. I think overall the medicine is great for the short term, but if you are going to use long term, Lunesta is probably not the right choice....
