Fresh or Frozen Safeway ground beef

Fresh or Frozen Safeway ground beef

I bought some Safeway ground beef and made an easy tortilla supper with 4 tortillas layered between with beef, salsa, black beans in mix and shredded Mexican cheese separate. After layering 4 times, bake 30 minutes or until brown. Yummy. This meal will fill you up.

Gatorade G2

Gatorade G2

I love G2! It quenches my thirst and love the taste of grape and there are 2 new ones: strawberry kiwi and lemon-lime. So far I only like the grape and strawberry kiwi. (I am not a lemon-lime fan so I am not even going to try that one). The taste is not overwhelming. It also quenches my thirst very well. I used to drink Frost "Riptide Rush" and like the grape G2 better - plus less calories. If you didn't like the orange or fruit punch (was disgusting), try another flavor.

Coors Keystone Light

Coors Keystone Light
a beer drinker, drinking my calories

DEC

2009

Poured from a 24 oz. can. Has a very pale yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Not much in the way of aroma, maybe some corn. Taste is lacking, basicallly water with some hints of beer. Feels like water in the mouth. Drinkability is good, in the same manner as water or iced tea. Overall there is not much to recommend about this one.

PureVia All Natural Zero Calorie Sweetener

PureVia All Natural Zero Calorie Sweetener

I like PureVia. it is sweet enough but is a healthy alternative. The best thing about it is that it does not leave an unpleasant aftertaste like so many other sweeteners.  I like it because it is natural and taste natural.  It is the best tasting sugar alternative to come along in quite awhile.  I like that it comes from the leaves of the Stevia plant, a natural source.

Gatorade Glacier Freeze

Gatorade Glacier Freeze

DEC

2009

There are so many athletes in the world today that need a sports drink to satisfy them. The athletes need to be hydrated and replenished so they're bodies can keep working as they play and love their own sport. Gatorade Glacier Freeze is delicious tasting gatorade that is a light blue color. Like all gatorade, it is to keep the athletes hydrated so they can perform to their very best. There are many different flavors of gatorade and this one happens to be my personal favorite. As an athlete, I am always buying this flavor of gatorade. It doesn't necessarily make me perform better compared to if...

Mrs. Butterworth's Buttermilk complete Pancake & Waffle Mix

Mrs. Butterworth's Buttermilk complete Pancake & Waffle Mix
a casual cook, Willing to pay for quality, practical, loving this product, value conscious

DEC

I decided to try Mrs. Butterworth's Pancake Mix because it was about the same price as other brands that I have previously tried. I like convenience when it comes to making breakfast, because usually I am very hungry and want to eat NOW! This mix is SUPER easy and fast to make, the pancakes turn out fluffy and delicious and they cook very fast and evenly. All you do is add water! How much easier could it get? So far this is my favorite mix other than Bisquick. You can also make waffles and crepes with this mix, and it includes easy to follow instructions for all 3 including pancakes. There seems...

Alouette Cheese

Alouette Cheese
wine lover, like variety, picky, a healthy cook

DEC

I loved the taste that Alouette cheese had for their blue cheese crumbles but holy heck their packaging stunk....the lid kept falling off and the top wouldn't flip up the way it was supposed to. So how do you keep cheese fresh if you can't keep the lid on. I was VERY disappointed by the packaging for this cheese, but would like it if they could and would change it.

Chobani Greek Yogurt

Chobani Greek Yogurt
loving this product, quality conscious, a baby boomer, watching my weight, an organic eater when possible, trying to lose weight

DEC

2009

I learned about Chobani Greek Yogurt at a 12-week weight loss class I have been taking. The reason it was mentioned is because of the amount of protein the yogurts have.

I just finished Blueberry Non-Fat yogurt. I have tried every flavor (except plain) and find them all really delicious. Make sure you stir them because the fruit is at the bottom. I have one a day!

Chobani Greek Yogurt comes in 6-ounce and 16-ounce cups. That is a bit strange because the larger containers serve 2 although they have 8 ounces. Obviously you'll get more calories in half of the 16 ounce yogurt.

The company donates 10%...

Nature Valley - Granola nut clusters

Nature Valley - Granola nut clusters
health conscious, fun loving, love to snack, loving this product, like to try new products, Trying to be a little more "green, into trying new things

DEC

2009

I received a free sample of Nature Valley's Granola Nut Clusters & I am now sure to always have a continuous supply handy.  My personal favorite, the "nut lovers", comes with clusters of cashews, pecans, peanuts, granola and honey.  They satisfy my salty cravings better than a bag of chips will & they are especially nice to snack on between work and the gym.  Since they are nuts, they are a tad higher in fat and calories than I usually hope for in a snack, but at least it is a healthier fat.  Each serving has a decent amount of protein, iron and fiber as well.

The clusters are bite-sized...

Naked Green Machine

Naked Green Machine
a casual cook, a serious student

NOV

2009

Naked juices are all natural with no sugar added. It's a 100% fruit juice smoothie with "boosts" added (ex. barley grass, or wheat grass). In one small bottle, you get the equivalent of several servings of fruit (in this particular one, there are 2.75 apples, .5 banana, .33 kiwi, ,33 mango and "a hint of pineapple". It is expensive for one drink and is overpriced considering the price of the original fruits, but it's still a tasty and healthy drink. As a college student who doesn't have the greatest eating habits, this is great for me. It's a quick fix for fruit I need (eating fruit can be messy...

Lawry's 30-Minute Marinade, Teriyaki with Pineapple Juice

Lawry's 30-Minute Marinade, Teriyaki with Pineapple Juice
Budget-Conscious, gastrointestinally challenged, not a gourmet by any stretch, the cook of a family with varied tastes

NOV

2009

It wasn't a conventional Thanksgiving dinner, but it was a good Thanksgiving dinner. Of course, we all know that what makes the best Thanksgiving dinner isn't the turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. It's the family and friends we spend it with. We had that part of the equation already set, and decided to forgo having turkey again this year. My sister-in-law cooked a pork loin, and my husband cooked a sirloin tip roast. What really made the beef was the marinade injection of Lawry's 30-Minute Marinade, Teriyaki with Pineapple Juice.

My husband got a meat injector for Christmas a few years ago and...

Yuengling Traditional Lager

Yuengling Traditional Lager

NOV
30
2009

Yuengling Lager is a beer for people who enjoy the eof beer. This stuff is a rich amber color, full of hops, and has just the right amount of carbonations. I prefer it extra cold in a frost glass. Now, if you grew up on those watery drinks like Coors, Bud, and Corona, just save your money as don't bother. This is not soda water with yellow food coloring. To compare Yuengling to those things is apples to oranges.

Trader Joe's Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Trader Joe's Extra Virgin Olive Oil
thirtysomething, child-free, not the best cook, but I try!, a homeowner

NOV

2009

As someone who is interested in cooking and always attempting to improve, I've been cooking more often with extra virgin olive oil.  The problem is that it is so expensive at the local grocery store--$20 for a 1 quart bottle.  I had been reluctantly buying it and sparingly using it due to the cost.  When I saw 1 quart bottles of Trader Joe's Extra Virgin Olive Oil for just $5.99 each during a recent visit to the store, I picked up two and now wish I had bought several more.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil is made from the first pressing of the olives which means that it has the most color and flavor...
