Full Metal Jacket
Before I bought Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket on DVD last year, I had only seen the movie once before - when it was released in theaters in 1987.
I was still in college then, a journalism major and - at the time - copy editor of my junior college campus' student newspaper. But because I had been the paper's Diversions editor during the previous semester, I still wrote entertainment-related articles or reviews if the section needed me to do so.
I went to see Full Metal Jacket with my friends Betsy Matteis and Richard de la Pena; we had met in elementary school in the 1970s and remained close...

Alf Great sitcom from 1980's different concept but still funny even today.
It's about an Alien Life Form (ALF) that crash lands through the roof of a typical American family, not only does it talk, but is very funny, but still resembles an Alien mostly covered in fur large nose eats cats. TV series lasted 4 years from 1986 to 1990 family friendly program teaches valuable lessions usassuming but comedy does add to fun.

Top 10 John Travolta Movies
John Travolta is a fantastic actor from very young to present he has made so many great movies. My favorites have been his part on Welcome Back Kotter, his movies Saturday Night Fever, Grease, Face Off, Michael, Hairspray, WildHogs, Broken Arrow, Ladder 49 and Domestic Distrubence to name a few.
He is a very personable person and I admire him for this. He maintains his privacy with his family with great respect.
tv converter boxes
What a rip off buying into those boxes. I had to buy nine and still don't work. can't wait to get that Vazio 42 inch tv so won't have to deal with these boxes for the stress of picture not coming in least 90% of time and then not all channel don't even come in. Don't want cable. Hope never have to buy another box ever again fo too costly.
The Biggest Loser Season 8
The Biggest Loser Season 8 was one of the most interesting seasons of the series to date. The contestants this year were significantly heavier than those of the previous seasons with several contestants starting out over 400 pound and including the heaviest contestant ever. As always the contestants endured their workouts and challenges to eventually achieve what I refer to as the amazing transformation. What amazes me more so than the weight loss involved is their personal growth from the experience. This season ended with a "wow" as several participants lost over 200 pounds with a few...

Finding Nemo
This is an all time favorite for me. It has great colors and outstanding graphics. I have watched it many times. I never get bored watching it. I also own a copy of it. If it came out in theaters again I would go watch it on the big screen again because the grapics look really good on the large screen. Ellen Degenres does a great job as Dory. It is a really funny movie. My favorite parts are when they get inside the whale, and also when the baby octopus inks. This is a great movie to watch with little children. They will watch it over and over. It is a fun movie for the entire family. Disney really...

After almost a decade of being waiting, the Simpsons FINALLY have their faces on the big screen. Sure many have been waiting forever for this to happen, but the wait was well worth it! It was laugh out loud hilarious in theatres and even more enjoyable watching it in the comforts in my own home. The practical and simple jokes are enjoyable to listen to over and over again. I have yet to forget any of the scenes or characters within the film. Not to mention this is one of those movies that anyone can watch and not be offended in any manner. I must say that I would like to see another one hit the...

I loved cars it showed how a person could be taken by truly seeing life in a new or old way to be exact. I loved the way it touched me to think of how we have lost the virtue of the life in so many small towns .I thought of how things were when I was a child. So much has been lost and so has the beauty of the land as they develop it to a concrete jungle. To me it was fulfilling funny kind of romantic so you just have to feel it inside of you .I would suggest it to anyone.
Flash Forward
This is a really good idea for a new show! It's nice to see something that hasn't been done before! The only downfall about this show in my opinion, is on the first show. As we were watching the first episode, we started to figure out that we should start remembering certain things about the show because they would come up again on that April 29th date. But then, the show starts to tell you "Hey! Remeber this date!" or "Hey! Remeber this person!" It was more fun to figure out for yourself what you needed to remember. I didn't like the show telling me what to remember. Other than...

TCM in December means its Bogart Wednesday, and Christmas Movie Thursday night.
The Bogart movies today include the 1940 comedy It All Came True about a gangster on the run who winds up hiding out in a boardinghouse full of eccentric characters (starting at 8:15 a.m. on the West Coast) followed by 1941's circus drama The Wagons Roll at Night. 1942's suspenseful war drama Across the Pacific where Bogart plays an American government agent trying to stop evil spies from following through on their plot to blow up the Panama Canal is a still exciting 97 minute gem co-starring Mary Astor and...

This is a really good show! Supposedly it was done in the eighties, but I didn't see it. This season is my first time hearing about the show. So, it has caused some controversy, which is always cool. The funny thing is that my boyfriend and I were watching the first episode, and when they started talking about hope and univeral health care, we looked at each other like we were thinking the same thing. Then when the reporter went to interview the head "V", and he was told not to ask her any hard questions, we both yelled out "Obama"! This show is just like Obama! Then the next morning...
