Trans Siberian Orchestra
Trans Siberian Orchestra was founded by composer, gutarist Paul O'Neil in 1996, he asked his friends John Oliva, Rober Kinkel, and Al Pitrelli if they were interested in forming a band together.
the idea was to re create christmas songs in more of a rock opera fashion at first the idea didn't sit well, but as it turned out alot of people both old and young really like the music.
TSO uses a 60 piece live orchestra and a choir in all their concerts and albums. I think while the band was touring in 04' their lineup inlcuded (aside from the band) 14 vocalists, 14 musicians and 2 narrators.
since 96'...
review »Michael McDonald - Spirit Waves
This album reminded me of Pink Floyd and/or David Gilmour.
- Serenity - A bluesy tune that gives you the sense of falling and flying if you close your eyes while listening to it.
- Spirit Waves -This song features several intertwining harmonized guitar parts to form the melody of this song.
- Heaven Help Us - Reminds me strongly of an updated Pink Floyd. It is very atmospheric and haunting. Reminds me of something you would hear in a movie when watching an approaching storm.
- Peace & Tranquility - An acoustic piece that is uplifting and inspirational. You can hear the thunder in the background.
- Peace...
Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown
I've been waiting since American Idiot for Green Day's next album, and this one did not disappoint! I love their musical commentary on social and political issues. This is a must have for any Green Day fan.
Amberian Dawn
Amberian Dawn is another finnish symphonic power metal band. the band was founded by several members who happend to played together in another band called virtuocity but the band eventually split. while working on another band project Atheme One the members put out an ad searching for a classically trained female singer. eventually the found Heidi Parviainen (soubrette soprano) and former member of iconofear and after hearing a few samples it was decided that heidi was the vocalist the band was looking for and thus Amberian Dawn was formed.
some people may believe that Amberian Dawn was another...

Great Christmas Present for the Young Musician!
This is a great deal for the money!!! The Christmas edition come with a stylish amplifier and all the hook up cords. Your young musician will be a "ROCK STAR" in no time. Next, the requests of: "Can I get a ride to the local music store?" " I broke another string." They were doing something they love and have passion for. It's in there blood to play music. THEY WANT TO PLAY GUITAR!!!
This guitar has a smaller neck, which is easier for young musicians to learn on. Children who learn music also tend to...

Yes ladies and gentlemen!make way for the gurus of metal!though they are not the ozzy osbourne of metal they do make their stamp in the metal genre.they are somewhere catagorized in the rap/metal industry, they are original none the less.when I first heard of them I didn't know what to think and that was their first album.that album eventually grew on me but it was when I heard FOLLOW THE LEADER is when I took notice.I was like"is this the same group?"well, yes it was and I absolutely enjoyed it.every song on it rocks and my brother got hooked on them, bought the cd and can recite word for word from...

review »Still Fantasy by Jay Chou
First, Still Fantasy is definitely not one of his best albums. I would recommend Ye Hui Mei, his first Fantasy album, and his debut album "Jay," the most, but his third album, "Eight Dimensions" is also very good. Still I like this album very much. My favorite songs are Twilight's Seventh Chapter, and Red Imitation. Jay actually wrote a song like Twilight's Seventh Chapter in 2002, but there are also many differences as well. The reason he did this was to show everyone that he was still keeping his old style. The song is really genius and super creative. The music video also rocks. ...
review »Randy Jackson - Randy Jackson's Music Club Vol 1.
Before becoming a star as the smartest judge on the TV smash AMERICAN IDOL, Randy Jackson was a noted producer, songwriter, and session musician. In the manner of Quincy Jones's terrific albums from the 1980s and '90s, Jackson structures RANDY JACKSON'S MUSIC CLUB as a various artists record in all but name, with a variety of singers and musicians working in dance, rock, pop, and R&B forms. Highlights include Paula Abdul's Cher-like comeback single, "Dance Like There's No Tomorrow," and Mariah Carey's gospel workout, "Understand." Other guests include Jason Mraz, Travis Tritt, Sam...
review »Andrea Bocelli - my Christmas
Andrea Bocelli knocks another home run with his newest CD, "my Christmas". It's a wonderfull collection of traditional favorites, like "White Christmas", What Child is This", and "Jingle Bells"; along with "I Believe", "Cantique de Noel", and "God Bless Us EVeryone". Perhaps the most awe-inspiring cut on the CD is "The Lord's Prayer", which is masterfully sung, with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. In addition to the Mormon Tabreernacle Choir, Natalie Cole, Mary J. Blige, The Muppets, Reba McEntire, and Katherine Jenkins are featured. While the album is sung mostly in English, Mr. Bocelli...

WARNING - spoilers!
Our family likes the classical/rock Christmas stuff we'd heard from TSO, so I got us tickets for their show in Portland. I had heard there would be lasers.
Oh. My. God. This was the cheesiest, overblown, self-aggrandizing, over-the-top show I have ever witnessed - it even topped PARODIES of overblown rock shows. From the big hair to the scantily clad singers/dancers to the LED screens, lasers, fog and pyrotechnics, it transported us back to the 1980s, and not in a good way.
The first half of the show, the Christmas parable about the angel and such, was schmaltzy, preachy and...
