Rabbits are great pets if you buy a large cage (actual size depends on size of the rabbit), plus add a pen for play and exercise. Rabbits, unlike cats, for example, have been raised in cages or hutches for many, many years, and in the wild, most often live in cramped, underground burrows. Therefore, I do not feel guilty about not letting them free range of the house, as long as they have an exercise pen. This keeps them from chewing on your furniture, rugs and power cords! So if you would like to try having a pet rabbit, remember the rabbit will be happy and you will be happy if you keep it in a cage and a pen! Also, my rabbits quickly learned to use a litter box, and their litter boxes smell much, much less worse than a cat's!
