"FUNNY PEOPLE" Reviews

I was really hoping for a movie like <em>Reign Over Me</em>. I'm not a huge Adam Sandler fan and I find much of his humor is around the level of my 16-year-old son, but in <em>Reign Over Me</em> he showed some actual acting chops. I was hoping for that same level of acting to come out of <em>Funny People</em>, but with fellow funny actors Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill in the cast, I wasn't sure how it would all turn out, but I left feeling good and having had a good time, and you just can't beat that.

Adam Sandler plays a character, George Simmons, that is pretty much like himself, a comedian and actor...

I went to watch this movie yesterday and it took all I had not to fall asleep.  Adam Sandler's losing his touch it seems, while Jonah Hill and Seth Rogan bring up the fire.  Adam finds out in the movie that he's got cancer of some sort and he takes Seth Rogan under his comedic wing as a stand up comedian.  Yea, by now, I've laughed, but I've also, by now, dozed off.  It's uncomfortable as hell in the movie theatre anyway, cold, and then having to suffer thru a movie you don't like sucks.  I ended up skipping out halfway through.

Please do not misunderstand me i have nothing agest any of the acts or actrees. I am a big fan of Adam Sandler. Infact i give all the acters 5 stars. Funny people was a comedy of the story of a famous comedian who has a near-death experience... and what he does with a second chance but its was not good at all.All of the jokes were dump and would only be funny to a moron.

But there were its possitive moments like the music was great and the myspace jokes were funny. The acting was every good as well all of the acts did a great job but i just found the movie to be unfunny and boring to watch i...

Funny People was an interesting character study of comedians. With a great cast and director they really show the world of stand up comedy as well as how they relate with each other. It shows how there world although competitive and cut throat its also very family like and protective of its members. Some great cameos and Adam sandler is perfect for the role of the elder sucessful comedian. There is a lot to like here but don't expect the typical Adam Sandler movie because this is not that movie. Its definitely worth  seeing all these people work together and make this an entertaining and fun flick....
