      Well first lets get to know me a little, I`m 48 yrs old, Disabled in a wheelchair, since Oct. 21 1997, I grew up in a small town Pop. 2700 (in 1970), I was 10 yrs old when we moved there, first off I was not an angel, far from it anyways I was always in trouble (all the time) started drinking and using drugs, sold drugs to have money to get alcohol, and to have drugs.   I felt like I was someone, my father bought a restaurant had to work for him starting at 10 yrs old, didn`t have much of a childhood, became an adult at 10, so I started hanging out with older people, (they accepted me for who I was), anyways was always in trouble with the law, grew up real fast, left home at 10, still worked for my father till I was old enough to join the Navy,(lasted a week), came back from the Navy went into the construction trade,(my grandfather started me in building cabinets at the age of 8).   I became a finish carpenter was very good at it ended up building million dollar homes, the last 25 yrs I was able to work, then I was in a motorcycle accident, pulled out of a driveway and got slammed by a minivan that was doing 70 MPH, shattered my lower right leg in 50 pieces, 3 yrs later I grew 11.5 inches of new bone,(first person in the world to grow this much bone), still its 3 inches short, been in a wheelchair since 1997, in 2005 I was arrested, for sales of meth,(at this time in my life I was smoking an ounce of crystal meth a day), I sold drugs to have drugs,(I sold a lot of drugs to support my habit).   So I went to court and the judge gave me a choice either go into a drug program,(PROP 36), or go to prison, at this time in my life I was homeless, in a wheelchair, and I was just sick and tired of being sick and tired, of living my life as a drug addict, so I choose Prop 36,(If I had gone to prison, I probably would either be in there for the rest of my life, or end up dead), so I started this program and I had to attend AA and NA meetings as part of my recovery,(This is what saved my life), I did what was suggested, I got a sponsor, worked the steps,(which I use everyday of my life), got into service in AA and NA, and for the first time in my life I got my head out of my ass and grew up, My father for the first time in my life said he was proud of me, that really made me feel good inside. Then he passed on last Nov. I will have 3 yrs clean Jan 26 of this yr.   Anyways getting back to poetry.com I have a poem I wrote in the first few months of my program and I entered it at poetry .com in their 10,000.00 contest and so far it has been chosen as the Editor`s choice and was published in a book of poems,(Title of book Forever Spoken), its on  the very first page, so if anyone wishes they can go to poetry.com and vote on it, there are still those people who I used to associate with that think that I will someday go back to doing what I used to do, but by the grace of God and our Lord Jesus Christ I pray I never go back to that life that I led.   Today I go to church,bible study, every week, I read the bible first thing I do every morning before I do anything else,(so far I`ve read the bible 2 times, and am on the 3rd time now, I`ve turned my life over to the care and understanding, to do things Gods way not mine today, and I have a very blessed life today, and this is what I will be doing for the rest of my life, their`s no turning back now, I can say that I love myself for the person I`ve become and this is the only way for me today.   May God bless each and everyone of you and your families each and everyday of your lives. Today is the first day of the rest of your lives so come to find an understanding that it`s His way, not your way to live your life today and everyday to come.
