Parent's Choice Organic Baby Formula —

I am a breastfeeding mom who is supplementing my son with formula and after trying Similac Organic I decided to look for something a little more cost-friendly. Well after reading the great reviews about Parent's Choice Organic Formula  I decided to try it. It was only $14.97 compared to Similac Organic's $30! After just one day I discovered that it is absolutely TERRIBLE!

Besides the fact that it does not mix well and it produces soooo much foam/bubbles, the most important thing is that it has so much BPA exposure! Ok. Most (I haven't found any that doesn't really) canned formulas have bpa but this can has it all over! BPA can damage a baby's reproductive system and it effects their growth hormones.

After noticing that my son was very slow to drink (which he usually is the opposite) and that he didn't finish the bottle at all, I tasted it and it tasted like metal! What baby wants to drink that?! Parents that are already using this taste it and see for yourself.

Please don't give this to your child. You get what you pay for. I'm switching back to Similac Organic, where the can has a protective coating inside from BPA exposure.

Don't feed your baby a bunch of toxins!!!!

With regard to the formula not mixing -- we bought a Dr. Brown's formula mixing pitcher and it works extremely well. We have had no problem getting the Parent's Choice formula to mix perfectly. When we are traveling and have to mix a bottle by shaking it, it seems to mix just fine then as well. Our daughter was on Similac Alimentum for the first 6 months of her life because of a protein intolerance and we had a much more difficult time getting that to mix properly. She has been on the Parent's Choice formula for a week now and she is doing really well. It's obvious to us that she prefers the taste. Also -- we haven't had a problem with bubbles because we use Dr. Brown's bottles.
Your comment about the BPA exposure concerns me though and I will look into that.

It's my understanding that most of today's bottles are BPA free, atleast that's what we've noticed when shopping. I chose glass anyway b/c after my other 2 kids I've come the conclusion it's easier to clean in the dishwasher and cheaper than throwing out all those liners from the other kind of bottles. As for the BPA in formula cans I've read that it's found at the highest levels in the premixed formula that comes in plastic bottles, the concentrate has the next highest and the lowest levels are in the powdered cans. If the inside is lined with metal instead of plastic I would think it would be lower? How do you test that stuff at home? All the brands I've tasted taste like metal b/c of the iron in them.

Whaddaya mean exactly by "it has BPA all over"? BPA is an ingredient in the plastic they used in baby bottles - the concern was the warm liquid in the bottle was reactive to the plastic, and caused dangerous levels of BPA to be ingested. Lots of studies over the last few months have have found no health risks associated with exposure to BPA - we're not turning in our BPA-free bottes, however
Also, it may taste metallic because there's iron and other metals in the formula. We are actually switching from Similac organic *because of* how sweet it tastes - Similac adds sucrose (and not lactose, like many other brands), which is an unusual practice by today's standards. BPA comes from plastic...not from metal. And Parent's Choice Organic is metal inside the can, right? I know I have checked it out and it checked out fine.
When it comes to BPA, the most important thing is the Baby Bottle's themselves (plastic). Make sure they do not have a 3, 6, or 7 on the bottom in the triangle. Actually, most reports just say watch out for the 7. But the PC Organic should be fine.
