Most HelpfulI shopped around for this DS because my daughter and I found it at Circuit City and I had a 15.00 off coupon plus came with a free game. It is pink and very durable. The screens are pretty durable as well but I would recommend screen protectors just in case your child is rough on them. The games are...

Most HelpfulNintendo Ds can be an addictive and fun video game, however I find it difficult to find games that I like for the console.
Pros:
Once you find an entertaining game, the system can keep you occupied and entertained for hours upon hours. Games like Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box/Curious Village,...

I have brain age which is exciting and old school games like mario brothers and yoshi island that I remember playing when I was younger. The biggest pro is that it's small enough to take ANYWHERE! Some may say it's a bit expensive but it's so worth it because you will use it all the time!
The first time I ever saw a Nintendo DS, I was disgusted. It opened funny- in fact, it was weird that it opened at all! None of the other handhelds by Nintendo had been that way. Next- it's games were tiny little memory card looking deals. Bizarre. Add to this you use a little pencil looking "wand" to tap things on screen and make them move around- BAH! Not for me.
As time moved on, more and more fascinating looking games came out for this weird looking handheld. I tried it a time or two in game shops and as the price dropped, my interest grew. It helped that the system is backwards...
read full review »I love the Nintendo Ds. We each have one (one for each kid and one shared among the adults). It is a great devise since the kids are all addicted to video games this is one that we can play together linking them or we can get them some educational games. And some fun games the boy loves Pokemon games, the girls love Barbie, and us adults love crosswords and mario games that we grew up on. It is a great devise that you can take anywhere and can keep the kids quite on a long trip or places like the dentist. Only complaint I have about the Nintendo DS is the games are very pricey. You can find cheap...
read full review »Nintendo Ds is a fun game portable console that is alot of fun to play with. You can play games like BrainAge Scribblenaughts and Mario games and more.
A big plus is that it is very sturdy. It is also really great for younger kids and is always fun to play with. It is also very affordable. It is also educational.
It leaned mainly toward kids and is it's audience is more for that age range not teens and above like a PSP for example. Yes and it is a great time killer if you are on a trip going camping or just really bored and want to kill some time. The cons are that games are sometimes expensive...
read full review »The Nintendo DS system is a great thing to have on family trips or when there is any waiting involved. It has been a life saver for my eleven year old son, in the car, on planes and in airports. We are a family who travels frequently and for my son to be happy and occupied in an airport during a lay over is a great thing!
The Nintendo DS system has good functionality, able to play both Nintendo Gamboy games and Nintendo DS games. Comes in many great colors. There are many games but some are diasppointing. My son has gotten a few games that he has been disappointed with and only played a few times....
read full review »I had been debating for months on whether to go ahead and purchase a Nintendo DS. My biggest concern was the price and whether or not I would get my money's worth by purchasing the DS. I'm not a huge video game player but I like to occasionally sit down and play a game or two.
I ended up buying a used DS and am happily content with my $100 purchase. The DS is well lit, has a entertaining variety of games to choose from, and is easily portable, even with the charger. The [price of the games is high unless you buy them used. I bought two used games and have had no problems with them so far.
I bought the nintendo DS for my than pre schooler and for my 7 year old daughters. They each love the games. I buy mostly educational games and they love it. There are games they can play with each other and they do. There are games that are played solo which is fine also.
We love to travel so this is a great way to entertain them for long periods of time. I travel to Israel which is an 11 hour flight and it kept them busy.
I would reccomened buying the DS for kids 5 and older. Most of the games require reading and that is when they start being interested in reading and the ABC.
Games cost between...
read full review »My five year son got the Nintendo DS for christmas last year, this has been an awesome gift for him!! Well worth the money, he is learning new things every day. There seems to be alot more variety of games out there for this game system, than the psp that my other son has. He has definitely taken good care of this. He has a car charger, so he can take this on long trips or to the doctor's office, keeps them occupied if there is going to be a long wait somewhere. They also have alot of educational games that can help with reading, writing, and math. This was well worth the money!!!
What a nice little portable gaming unit. I wish I had one of these when I was a kid. It is expensive if you buy it new. But why do that? There are tons of these units out on Craigslist or Ebay with extras. I only paid $70 for my son's and it came with a game and a case. I also got a SuperCard DS-One for it so I can download roms from the internet. The touchscreen is pretty cool, works with the stylus or just your finger. There are over 800 games for this console in many languages. And you can get them all for free off the internet if you know how. I'll just leave it at that.
I bought each of my kids one and each one loves it. I enjoy the fact that games are made for all ages. I even play it myself. I like how some games can be somewhat interactive by using the stylis and some you don't need to use the stylis. I have bought this for kids ages 11,5,3 and if you buy the games that match thier age groups they can play with no problem. I chage each DS before long car trips and I also have the car charger just in case.
My daughter (8) loves this. Santa brought it last year as a Christmas gift and she is still entertained by it. The most common place for her use is at the lake at bedtime. Since she does not have to go to sleep early on weekends at the lake she can quietly play her game while we fall asleep. She does not even have many games (maybe 6) but it keeps her busy.
