I love, love, love Pokemon. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl? Got it! Ruby and Sapphire? Those too! Fire Red and Leaf Green? Do you even have to ask?
Right now my Pokemon obsession is being fueled by Pokemon Pinball/Ruby and Sapphire for the Nintendo SP. I know it is an older game but one that I just recently discovered. My little boy bought it used a couple of months ago for $14.99. He quickly lost interest in it but once I started playing I was hooked.
I was a child of the 80's and remember many a night spent hanging out in the local arcade playing the various video games. Pokemon Pinball for a handheld is remarkably complicated and fast-paced. Very exciting to play. It has all the usual bells and whistles with the added bonus of catching Pokemon. Right now, my high score is 3,486,162,683!! (give me a second while I pat myself on the back!)
With a little dexterity and luck you can play for hours on one game...racking up the points and catching and evolving Pokemon. If only this game had been around when I was hanging out at the arcades. I could have played the whole night for the cost of one quarter! Speaking of money...I consider the $14.99 I spent on this game to be well spent. In fact, I liked the game so much that when my son wanted to trade it in for a different game I bought it for him instead.
Pokemon Pinball/Ruby and Sapphire is a welcome addition to my growing collection of Pokemon games for Nintendo SP and DS. I am hoping (with my fingers crossed!) that Nintendo will soon put a new version of the game for Diamond and Pearl which will include all 498 Pokemon. My DS is very lonely these days...but I just can't get enough of Pokemon Pinball!
