Only good thing about nTelos is...

1

Unlimited data, text and calls are the only good about nTelos which is what you would hope to get from a phone provider but then there are problems like the connection speed sucks, the phones shut off in the middle of placing a call, and we have daily dropped calls and there are no service bars when I am at home. So you have a phone with this awesome plan but good luck trying to use any of it. If you travel a lot do some research first on your local area and where you will be using your phone the most to determine which provider is best based on where you live. It is your own fault for not doing research on tower locations before signing a contract because nTelos has crappy reception. I also should have own from the start when witnessing the workers professionalism. The workers were unprofessional, rude, and carry on fowl conversations with each other while you are in ear shot. Never again will I ever consider nTelos as my phone provider, I am glad I've been out of that hot mess for years now.

The company was okay but I found a better contract elsewhere.

I was actually pretty happy with this company while I had them. The coverage was decent and we had two phones on our line. Our two phones cost us around $90 a month but it only included unlimited nights and weekends, unlimited texts, and 1000 minutes to share between our two phones. Our data was very limited. We only had 10 MB to share between us and after a few days of using Pandora at the gym, we would get alerts about our data usage. The company gave us pretty good coverage. I never had any issues with service. Anywhere everyone else got service, I always had a bar or two. The real discouraging factor for me with this company was that the price was significantly higher than other prepaid providers were able to offer. We frequently expended our minutes and data because we were both working full time and in school full time. My guy is a Union Man and I work as a manager so we can't ignore phone calls or always wait until free hours to answer calls. We ultimately switched because of the discount another company was able to give us. Call Quality I had great service and coverage with this company. We frequently travel and I've never had any issues with coverage in our travels. Anywhere our friends have had service, we always had coverage with this company. Coverage I always had good coverage with this company, it was just the price that made it as issue. Plan Options There weren't a lot of plan options that could leave us truly unlimited for a reasonable price. Features They had a few nice phones but the phones seemed to be a little behind other companies. Customer Service I never had any issues with customer service.

Great Company When It Was Still Around

5

Several years ago, I used Alltel. They were the biggest cell phone carrier in Kansas, so I naturally gave them a shot because they had a good wrap about their services. While using them, I never had any major issues. Calls were never dropped, internet was always working, and the text message would send and receive quickly. When I moved to Colorado, I found out that Alltel wasn't available here. So I had to switch. I'm not sure if Alltel is still around. I heard they were bought out by Verizon, but they may still be operating in other areas. Overall my experience with Alltel was great. Never had any issues with them worth complaining about. Call Quality I never had any issues with the call quality. Coverage The coverage was great. I never had a dropped call when I used their service. Plan Options Plan options were typical. You had to do a 2 year plan, and had several options to choose from. Features Typical features that you would find at any cell phone carrier. Customer Service I never had to use their customer service beyond signing up. But initially it was a good experience.

Good Cell Phone Provider

5

I have been with Ntelos for over 10 years and I have to say they have grown into a great provider. They started offering the iPhone around 2 years ago, which was a big step for the company and they also have other smartphone devices, along with non smartphones. Their service seems to pick most anywhere I have been. They just recently starting offering the nControl plan, which is a much better deal. The more devices you have on the plan the cheaper the monthly plan rate. They also now offer unlimited service on all devices including Wifi for a lesser fee if included on the nControl plan. Call Quality Call quality is great. Coverage Coverage is good, there are places I have not been able to access cell phone service, but these areas do not have towers and when accessing cell phone service from other states the service can be spotty. Plan Options They offer good rate plans that anyone can afford. They offer minute plans; as well as, unlimited plans at an affordable rate. Features They offer smartphones and non smartphones, they have call centers, online services, and walk in services, and a downloadable app, which always you to view your account and pay your bill. Customer Service Customer service is always great. You can now access their customer service via online chat; as well as, calling the customer service call center. They are always quick and knowledgeable and I have no complaints about their customer service to date.

We have had Ntelos for 2 years now

We have had Ntelos for two years now. They originally bought us out of a contract with AT&T. We picked out free phones when we signed up. Unfortunately, we very much dislike our phones, but we have been very happy with Ntelos. Through all the carriers we have been customers with, I have never had a phone company where the bill is the exact same every month, to the penny. It is so wonderful knowing exactly what is coming out each month. We are now at the point of renewing our contract. We love our service with Ntelos, but noticed that the same plan would be about $40/month than we are already paying. We went in this past weekend to ask about this, and the guy at the store said that all we needed to do is call the customer service line and they should be able to help us so we can stay with Ntelos. Very happy with this! Ntelos has us as customers for another two years! Good job Ntelos!

Ntelos is a steal in my book

Coming from major cellphone carriers I was a little hesitant to go to a smaller provider. I finally got fed up with the cost and lack of customer service from other providers and may the switch. I switched when there was the payoff the current contract. That special and the fact I could purchased an unlimited plan with an Apple IPhone was what attracted me. I've been with Ntelos for a year and have had no current customer service or billing issues. I am very satisfied with most things, but I feel that the coverage could be a little better when I am traveling. I travel quite a bit and that is the only reason I am not giving it a 5-Very Good. Call Quality Great call quality. Even when I have one bar I can hear and the other line can hear me clear. Coverage Around my local area I have great coverage. When I travel I do run in to spots where I don't have coverage. That is a slight inconvenience, but it doesn't happen often. Plan Options It has a great unlimited plan for my Apple Iphone. Some carriers are doing away with unlimited data, so this is great. Features It has all the features my family and I need. Customer Service I have never had any billing or customer service issues. If there are any issues I usually go to the mall kiosk and they take care of everything. I have not had any experience in the call center customer service.

Ntelos is one of the best deals around

I was looking to switch carriers last year and a friend recommended Ntelos. She was getting much better rates than I was at the time, so I compared Ntelos to all of the other carriers with good coverage in my tiny area and realized they were by far the cheapest. We currently have 3 smartphones on our plan with unlimited talk, text, and 3G data. Every other company I checked with would be charging me at least $40 more per month (plus the data would likely be limited). As I mentioned, I live in a very tiny rural town and the voice/text coverage is fantastic. I think I've only ever had one dropped call and have never missed an incoming call due to coverage. As for the 3G coverage, I'm unable access it at my house (but can just use my home wifi for that), but the main times I'd be using the 3G are when I'm away from home in surrounding towns anyway, where the 3G coverage is flawless. I can't really fault Ntelos for not covering the few miles close to my house, since no other carriers have data coverage here either. Also, if a friend refers you to Ntelos, you can give them your friend's phone number and you'll both receive a credit on your bill (at the time I signed up it was $30 each), so that doesn't hurt either!

nTelos is just okay when it comes to customer service

We have nTelos for a business account contract. The prices have always been fair, but lately it seems that they are not waiving certain fees like they have done in the past. I had an HTC phone on my plan but got a different phone instead. When I wanted to reactivate it for another employee, I was charged a $15 fee which used to not be the case with my plan. When I went in to get the phone cleared, the customer service agent was rude to me and did not even clean the phone all the way. All he did was important the new contacts on top of my old contacts. So now I still have to go back to have it done correctly. I have not had problems like this with nTelos until just recently. I will give them a few more months and see how things go, but there are too many other providers out there for them to treat their customers poorly. Especially ones with large business accounts and multiple phones.

nTelos is good enough for me.

Ever since my wife got Straight Talk I have said I was going to drop nTelos and get me a Straight Talk phone. Why? Because nTelos is actually cheaper for what I need out of a wireless phone service. My phone was free, you got to pay for a Straight Talk one even just the basic phone, and the plan is cheap, Straight Talk has cheap plans too but I only use it for phone calls, I have no use for text or internet through my phone. So buy staying with nTelos I am getting what I want and only paying $25 a month. Straight Talk has some cheap plans but no reason I would want to buy a new phone just to use thier service. I guess I will stick with nTelos for now as I have never had a dropped call and had no problems with it working wherever I go, it even worked when we went to Niagara Falls and I did not even have to change anything. Someone called and it just rang no need to change to raoming or international or anything. If I ever have to have something more my company would be paying for it because as for me nTelos is good enough for my needs.
