About MyLot
This community is based on discussion about everything from reality TV to relationships, health, depression - not many subjects are taboo. It is set up like a message board system and people start discussions in categories and members chime in. Based on participation, members get paid. I answered a few discussions and got paid a nickel my first day. lol.
As well, there is a personal profile area where you can upload photos, tell what your interests are, and see what discussions you started or added to. You can add friends or they can request to be added to your friends list. It is sort of like MySpace meets forums but somewhere along the line you get paid for your participation.
When you join, you will fill out a brief list of interests and info about yourself so that you can hone in on discussions that interest you. I added my two cents to a few wrestling discussions and to a reality TV one today. I don't know what I am doing but I made five cents the first day simply interacting with others about subjects I like. I only spent about 20 minutes that first day there.
I have since made a couple of friends, filled out my profile, added to a few more discussions, and started one of my own on day three. Some people make dollars a day - but I sense they spend hours on the site. This site is not really for old people like me. Many people are teens or 20 somethings and the stuff they talk about is not up my alley. Plus they speak in net speak which I refuse to try to decipher. However, some discussions are insightful and I like to think I can help some people who are going through tough times. I answered one post about feeling empty and hopeless, not for the possible penny I would earn, but to help someone who was down.
This community could be a lot of fun and could make you a few extra bucks or more. I don't expect I will be raking in the cash but I will drop by and add my opinion or my support to people who are genuinely reaching out or who are discussing issues I care about. Check it out. It's completely free and you don't have to give any personal info about yourself.
My Viewpoint
MyLot.com is a big discussion community that pays for your participation. There are a few ways to make cash on the site and I haven't gotten to them all but I will never be able to spend the type of time on the site to make any meaningful earnings. Still, it's a pretty nice community to discuss things that interest me and for me to do what I do best - advise. I really like to help people and some are in need and reaching out. That's when I like to step in and help. The money is an afterthought for me but, if you have the time to answer and start discussions, build your friends list, and be active on the site, you could make a few bucks or more a day just chatting and answering silly thinks like whether you eat pizza with your hands or a fork or who you think will win So You Think You Can Dance. Of course, there are serious issues as well. I give this site 4 stars. It's an interesting concept but many of the writers are young - or write young - and that makes meaningful discussion somewhat difficult.
