Meetup.com has something for everyone. If you don't see a group for you, you can start one. Groups are designated by area and interest. You can meet different people, learn a new hobby, go places you wouldn't have otherwise gone, etc. I initially learned about these groups through another single person. I joined a hiking group, a singles group, and a dining out group. There are so many activities I know about that I wouldn't have known about before even though I have lived in this area for 13 years. I have met people I wouldn't have otherwise met despite the variety of things with which I have been involved. I live on the East Coast & told a friend on the West Coast about meetup. She joined a photography club and is loving it. You have nothing to lose by checking this site out.
