mark. Winkink Felt Tip Eye Liner —

The Verdict:  Unless you're a professional makeup artist stay away from mark. Winkink.  It's really hard to apply.

Just the Facts:  Earlier this year I went on a huge Avon/mark. shopping spree and picked up a tube of mark's Winkink Felt Tip Eye Liner thinking it would work really nicely. Well it doesn't.

The eyeliner comes in a small plastic container that looks like a magic marker.  The cap screws on so it does not become dislodged and make a mess in one's purse or makeup bag.  The felt tip of the applicator also looks just like a magic marker, only very pointy on the end.  I drew a line on the back of my left hand with the eyeliner to see how it would look and to get the feel for using it. I liked the crisp black line on my hand and the way it dried quickly so I had lots of confidence and a good feeling about applying it to my eyelids.

Well, that proved to be not such an easy task.  The felt tip is very soft and applies the product very gently to the eye without any pulling or tugging which is good.  But the problem is that it is very hard to get right up against the lashes with the tip and also create a straight, clean line.  And for some reason once I've got my eyeshadow on my lids and try to apply the eyeliner over the top, it won't create a solid line.  It's too light and parts of it are dark and parts of it are light and just not a nice look.  Doing the bottom lashes is nearly impossible as the tip catches on the bottom lashes and skips and makes a huge mess which is not pretty at all.

If by some wild chance one manages to get this product applied satisfactorily it will dry quickly and stay put fairly well.  But good luck getting to that point.  I've tried the one tube I have time and again and am throwing it out after I'm finished with this review as I've just had it.

Closing Argument: 1 star.  At $6 this product is too hard to use and does not look good at all.  Avoid it.  If I had to leave my house and take only one beauty product with me it would be a eyeliner.  So needless to say I am very picky about my eyeliners and this one just doesn't cut it.

Have you tried the Avon Glimmersticks? I still think those are the best eyeliners out there. I also like L'oreals' Le Grand Kohl but it's a pencil and I hate the act of sharpening those things. Thanks for commenting!

I never had issues with the Mark products I have purchased in the past years, but good to hear the heads up on something that doesn't to save me some coin...right now I am still stuck with the pencil eye liners.

I used to be an Avon rep too a hundred years ago before mark was around. I like some of their stuff and don't mind the price generally unless the product doesn't work well. And this one doesn't. Such a bummer because it's a great idea.

I used to sell Avon and some of the representatives said customers complain that mark. was too expensive.
