Shine Fighter made my skin want to fight back!

3

From the Avon website: "An intense purifying mask featuring **kaolin**, a natural, oil-absorbing clay. **Apricot**, rich in vitamins A and C, protects skin against environmental damage. 3.4 fl. oz" This was my 1st time using any Avon products. I occasionally look through the catalog, because everyone at work sells it. Some of their products always look so cute, and for goodness sake Reese Witherspoon is an Avon spokeswoman and she's got great skin!! I saw the Mark line for acne prone/oily skin and figured I'd give it a try. I placed my order and it came in a week. I received it on a Friday.Saturday morning I used the Mark [That's Deep Purifying Gel Cleanser][1] in the shower. (I also mixed it with the [Berry Grand Super Exfoliating Beads][2] ). I then followed up with the Shine Fighter Oil-Control Mask. The mask is blue, and kind of thick. It's not super thick like some masks, but it's not watery thin either. There is no fragrance. I applied to my cheeks, forehead, nose and chin. I left it on while I finished the remainder of my shower. Perhaps that was not enough time for the mask to 'dry out' like I am used to. Perhaps the mask is not even supposed to do that. I rinsed it off and dried my face.  was surprised at how soft my face felt after that one use. After I dried my face, I then applied Matte Chance Mattifying Lotion. My face felt pretty good! Then I applied Get Clearance Anti-Acne Blemish Treatment Gel to all of my acne. My face stil felt pretty good! Then Tuesday morning I used the face cleanser in the shower, but this time did NOT mix with the [Berry Grand][3] . I used the Shine Fighter Mask again (so this makes 2 uses - Saturday and Tuesday). I got out of the shower and my face was so red, itchy and looked like I had dunked my face in scalding hot water. It took a-lot of mineral powder to cover it up enough to be presentable. I didn't use anything else on my face after that, and it took at least a day for the redness to go away. I do not know if the irritation was from the cleanser or the shine fighter mask, but I returned the products to my Avon lady. I just couldn't chance that irritation again!! There must be some ingredient in one of the products that my skin just didn't like. Speaking of ingredients (from the website): WATER/EAU , HYDRATED SILICA , KAOLIN , SD ALCOHOL 40-B , MAGNESIUM ALUMINUM SILICATE , SORBITAN LAURATE , GLYCERIN , SILICA CELLULOSE GUM , POLYSORBATE 20 , SACCHARUM OFFICINARUM (SUGAR CANE) EXTRACT , PRUNUS ARMENIACA (APRICOT) FRUIT EXTRACT, SPIRAEA ULMARIA EXTRACT, ANTHEMIS NOBILIS FLOWER EXTRACT, CUCUMIS SATIVUS (CUCUMBER) FRUIT EXTRAC, PUNIC, GRANATUM FRUIT JUICE, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, TETRASODIUM EDTA, PHENOXYETHANO, TITANIUM DIOXIDE/CI 7789, BLUE 1/CI 42090 I don't even know what half those ingredients are, but some of them sound downright scary. If you have sensitive skin, you may want to be wary of this. Even though it's supposed to be for sensitive skin, I don't buy that!!
