So I travelled to Orlando for a quick visit to Magic Kingdom--my first mistake was in thinking you could do this quickly. The park itself is remarkable--well organized, lots to do, very clean. And I know--there is definitely something magical about this place...having said that, My disclaimers:
Never travel during a school vacation week-the park was grossly overcrowded with tired, often angry families jockying for a spot in lines which at times were almost two hours.
The cost is high but would be reasonable if you were able to actually get on a number of rides, but due to the lines waits were excessive--the fast pass helps but you are limited to one fast pass per time period so that means some advance planning and running around.
It is hot in Florida!!
My kids (8,10,13) were probably on the old side for this park, even my 8 year old daughter was not interested in the traditional fairy tale based rides. They all loved space mountain, thunder mountain and splash mountain, which they rode on (and waited in line for) over and over. I also enjoyed the Pirates ride, the Hall of Presidents and the Haunted House--jsut not sure the sum of the day was worth the cost.
If we do return, it will be better planned (my fault), not during school vacation, and would most likely try one of the other parks (like Universal or MGM or Animal Kingdom).
