If you've ever seen a Quentin Tarantino film, you know you can describe them in many ways, but one adjective that never applies is "subtle".  His latest, Inglourious Basterds, suffers no lapses in that department.  What it is, though, is pretty good revisionist history entertainment.

Seeming to take...

One of the (many) things I love about going to the movies is to be surprised by a film when I had low expectations of going to see it and "Inglorious Basterds" held a few surprises for me but first the things that DIDN'T surprise me.

I am not a big fan of Quentin Tarantino as I find his pictures always...

Inglourious Basterds is the much anticipated 'new' film from Quentin Tarantino.

It's a 'what if' action fantasy film that has been marketed as a Dirty Dozen type movie with men on a mission in World War 2 to get Hitler and his cronies.   Actually only about one 6th of the movie is like the Dirty Dozen...but those along for the ride shouldn't mind because Basterds whips up suspense, humor, sadism and audience expectations into an audience pleasing cocktail--  assuming said audience member isn't too sensitive to an occasional bit of sadism and gore.

No spoilers here.     I will give away...

Inglourious Basterds is based on the WWII era, in Nazi occupied France.  The movie begins full of suspense as a soldier comes to inspect the house of a dairy farmer.  He's seeking Jews, and we see there are Jews hiding there.  They pile on the suspense right at the start just by reallllllllly stretching this part out.  It starts out slow and suspenseful, I can't say that enough!!  Christoph Waltz plays the solider here at the start and you will learn to HATE him right away!  Which means he was perfect for the part.  Rumor has it that Leonardo DiCaprio was considered for the part, but...

I’m a little rusty on writing, as I haven’t done it in a while.  Hopefully this review will be sufficient anyway.

Quentin Tarantino has done it again.  For all you Tarantino fans, you have to see Inglourious Basterds.  If you’re into history you’ll also like it, though not because any of it is true (OK…so Hitler did exist, but that’s about as close to the truth as this movie gets).  This is where knowledge counts – the more you know...

Quentin Tarantino and his movies do not rank high for me, but Inglorious ******** was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.  The soundtrack is genious.  The writing/storyline is intriquing.  It runs the full range of emotions - seamlessly.  It was like you were watching someone's life through a hidden camera.

The actors are incredibly well-defined and believable.  The only well-known name in the cast is Brad Pitt.  I'm not a big Brad Pitt fan either, but in Inglorious ******** he actually showed acting capabilities.  The two characters to really watch are the Nazi Security Officer...

I really didn't think I'd like this. While I don't dislike him per se, I'm not a Brad Pitt fan. I also really didn't like Death Proof. Tarantino's script was WAY too wordy a la Kevin Smith and came across more as a play script.. a really boring play with really artificial dialogue. So I wasn't really looking forward to sitting through this movie. Or paying $10 to see it. Anyways my boyfriend made me see this with him and I was pleasantly  surprised. Not a masterpiece by any means but thoroughly enjoyable. Funny, it moves at a good pace, and oddly enough, light hearted entertainment. Weird to...

Inglourious Basterds is an ingenious film directed by movie icon himself, Quintin Tarentino! Moviegoers that loved Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs, and Pulp Fiction, you'll enjoy what this spaghetti Western has to offer. This is a wonderful masterpiece and despite its flaws, once the DVD comes out, I expect to purchase the merchandise in order to watch it whenever I want and where I want. This has the making to be a cult classic if not for the disappointing ending, but actor Waltz serves up a convincing, power-hungry image of a feared Nazi colonel. If not for him, the movie would have no life, no unique...

Inglourious Basterds (spells with errors in both words), the new movie from Quantin Tarantino does not disappoint. It doesn't if you know what to look for and what to give up before the first frame of the movie rolls on screen. If you are looking for an emotional story, you won't find it here. If you're looking for a true depiction of history you won't find it here. If you are looking for social justice, you won't find it here either.

What you will find is a fantasy. You'll find an action movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat because you have no idea where you're heading. You will find...

Inglorious Bastards by Quintin Terrentino. The movie stars Brad Pitt and his band of Inglorious Bastards who like to scalp Nazi's. The beginning is drawn out making you wait for a killing that you know is going to happen. Subtitles in almost all the movie which I hate because I'm always doing something while watching a movie and I hate to have to focus on reading and watching at the same time. There are brutal scalping scenes...tops of heads being cut off...nastyyyy. I couldnt look... A lot of twists and turns. The accents are a little hard to understand and Brad Pitt to me, his accent just doesn't...
