My home is always filled with animals--cats, dogs, and birds.  I run an animal rescue so there are always fosters here in addition to my 3 cats and 2 parrots.  Sometimes the total number of animals is a reasonable 6 or 7.  And there are times like today when the number is, well, a lot.  You may think...

While the Roomba is a nice idea, it doesn't handle heavy dog hair. I have four dogs. Your best bet is a good quality vacuum. If you have the money, go for a Dyson. I also like the rubber broom. They're about $10 and really get up the hair, especially on hard floors.

This product is amazing.

It picks up pet fur like you would not believe.

Pros: Moves under furniture, gets itself out of tight spaces, cleans floors like a full sized vacuum. Has different levels of cleaning: Spot cleaning for really small areas.
Clean for lightly dirty areas.
Maxium Clean
for the areas that are dirtier or have alot of pet fur.

Cleans hardwood floors, tile floors, vinyl floors and carpets.

Takes about 3  hours to get fully charged. Will clean a double-wide mobile home on one charge. Even picks up kitty litter. When battery is almost dead it returns to the base station for recharge....

The Roomba Sage is a great asset to any home.  I have been using one for about 4 monthsand every time I empty the dirt bin am amazed at how much dirt, dust and hair is in there.

You will have to sweep the dirt away from the walls and corners periodically as it doesn't hug the walls tightly and can't reach all the way into the corner.  Roomba gives you the freedom to do other things.  Instead of pushing a heavy vaccuum around;  just press a button, set the virtual walls and off it goes.  Since it vaccuums over each area more than once it really picks up everything.  Dust, hair, cheerios,...

I love my irobot! It is the best no getting the broom and dust pan out just let this baby run and its all done!!!! We have a flashy fawn boxer and three cats so you could imagine I was always sweeping up pet hair. I only have to "clean" the floors now one or two times a week its great.

I have 2 roombas. I live in a small one bedroom apartment, and still need to be there when it is going. You have to clean out the filter a billion times before it finishes one room. I couldn't imagine if my cat had long hair how much worse it would be. The concept is fantastic, it just fills up too quick.

The Roomber Professional Series as an anniversary present for my husband since his job is vacumning the carpets. We have two dogs and dog hair accumulates daily. Now, he just programs the rommba to clean specific areas and and it does a fantastic job!! We do this twice a week and then get out our heavy one once a week.. He hates to vacumn and now he just watches in awe as the roomba does its thing. We love it. We are now thinking about getting the one for the garage which picks up leaves and nails etc. Thanks for offering since a wonderful product.

The dog runs from it but I am in love!!!! It was pricy...yes. It does need to be cleaned out often...yes. BUT.....that's minor compared to the time that I am saving with this! We have 4 children age 8-14 and a american staffordshire terrier.....we only have one room that is carpeted....the other 3000+ square feet are wood floors....you know the kind where the dust bunnies make their way to the corner really quickly? I used to spend so much time sweeping and vacuuming every day. I remember thinking one time that I would like to have a job outside the home rather than work from home all the... review »

I never would have purchased this product on my own because I assumed that there was no way that they could work as well as advertised.  I ended up getting one as a wedding gift and was extremely skeptical but excited to try it.

I tried it first in the living room and since we had just moved in there was little furniture.  I watched the Roomba scoot around the room terrifying my dogs, but it got every inch.  It will sense when it is in a place that has more mess and stay in that area until it is clean.  I was also impressed with how it moved around all the furniture once it got in.  The...

I've had many different types of vacuum cleaners in the past. And of course, there's also the sweeping. We have guinea pigs with hay and hay dust around their cage, a dog that sheds worse than the guinea pigs, hardwood floors and carpet.  I am also so busy and the floors are constantly needing vacuuming or sweeping. I decided for Christmas to get myself an IRobot Roomba vacuum. I tried it out as was amazed at how much it picked up. Not only on the hardwood floors, but the carpet. The first time I ran it on my carpet, It really got up dust, big pieces of hay, and pet hair. It picked up everything!... review »

I bought this product because my old old roomba was having a hard time dealing with all the hairs generated by my 2 shedding beagles. I am so glad I did. This vaccuum is easily able to handle picking up after all the pet hair, without having to be dumped every two seconds (although I do dump it out after each cleaning and get the little stuck hairs off its wheels or it gets much less effective.) It is quiet and doesn't scare the dogs like a full sized regular vaccuum. It takes a while for it to get all over the house and vaccum everything, but who cares- i"m not doing it right. It has an easy... review »

I've had the irobot roomba for at least three years and absolutely love it.  It gives me time to do the things I'd rather be doing than cleaning!! I just got a cat the last year, so I highly recommend this to even those without animals.  It's just so darn handy!  The only things I have to be careful of are rugs with fringe and cords.  Don't forget it goes under things too. The first  time I set it up in the bedroom it got hung up on the cord to our electric blanket!  Also, it's best to clean the filter after every use. If anything happened to my roomba, I would definitely be out buying... review »

we'd joked about getting one off and on, but I felt it was way too indulgent - no matter how much I hate hoovering - and I do!!

My husband found a link to their new floor washing machines, no idea about them, but it led him to irobot website where he discovered you can get a refurbished one extremely cheaply, fully warranted. Mine only has a few minor scratches, has the new upgraded battery, and works wonderfully. Now if only it would do stairs!!

Take the time to read thin instruction book, as does have useful hints on uses

I just got this Roomba, after looking at them for about a year....and am I ever glad I got it. This morning, I set up some barriers to keep it from wandering into the ajoining room and turned it on. In about 45 minutes, my kitchen floor was clean and it had shut itself off. Al I had to do was plug it back into it's charger so it will be ready to go the next time. I have 3 cats and a lot of cat hair and it picked it up with no problem. It also entertains the cats:-) I highly recommend this cleaner to anyone.

My girlfriend has one of these in a home with hardwood floors. It was charging overnight, while her "insane" cat ran the around all night.  It was plugged in just outside the guest room i was sleeping in.  Hearing the cat throughout the night, all I could do was laugh out loud as he ran over the Roomba, turning it on... and off it went.  Beeping and cleaning all down the hall.  I honestly don't know how good the thing works - but it sure made for a good laugh in the morning !!!
