iRobot Roomba 530 Robotic Vacuum —
This is my second Roomba. I was one of the first people who bought the one originally marketed several years ago, and my first one finally died. I must say that the customer service was very good when I was trying to determine if my first one could be saved. They walked me through several things to check, and then sent me a new battery free of charge (normally those cost $40-60). When nothing worked, and one of those 20%off coupons from Bed, Bath and Beyond arrived in the mail, I just got a new one.
I love this one just as much as I loved my first one. I absolutely hate vacuuming, but with two kids, my floors are constantly a mess. With this, I just turn it on in one room, and then go do my work in a different room. When I come back, the floor's clean. Of course, I do have to do some preliminary things to make sure the room is "Roomba friendly." I pick up toys and put them in the toy box, and I make sure that things like shoelaces and electrical cords are not too prominent--it will suck those up and jam. To me, that's a very small price to pay for a machine that does a chore that I hate, and does it well. When everyone comes home, they notice that the house looks better.
I love having the extra battery, too. When I'm not using the Roomba, I keep it charging, and I switch out the batteries so that they are always kept charged.
