Archos - 605 WiFi 80gig
With most portable media players, what you see is what you get. But with any Archos product, the gear you buy is a base to which you can add additional features, for a price. Some accuse Archos of skimping on features to maintain an artificially attractive price, but you can also think of it as Archos allowing their customers to purchase only the features they want. Either way, the out-of-the-box 605 comes with most of the features people want in a PVP, and plug-ins--such as high-definition video playback, Internet radio, and others--cost only $20 a pop. Unfortunately, to truly take advantage of...
review »Archos 5 Wifi (60 GB) Digital Media Player
Despite the manufacturer's protest that Archos 5 shouldn't be categorized as a mere portable video player, video playback is the Archos 5's strongest feature. Out of the box, the Archos 5 offers support for AVI, WMV, MPEG4, and Flash video content with no transcoding necessary for videos sized at or below 640x480. Although Archos makes no mention of it, we were happy to see that DRM-protected WMV videos from Amazon's Video On-Demand service played on the Archos 5 with no problem. For an extra $20, you can outfit the Archos 5 with a high-definition software plug-in to enable 720p video playback...
review »Archos - internet tablet
That said, there's plenty to appreciate about the Archos 5's design and the improvements made to the latest models. For example, we love the built -in metal kickstand that hinges out from the back--a brilliant feature, especially for watching movie-length video content. The dimensions also make us happy, with the thinner 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB models measuring 5.5 inches wide, 3 inches tall, and a relatively svelte 0.4 inch thick (hard-drive models are twice as thick). In real-world terms, that means the Archos 5 is just small enough to fit into the front or back pocket of your jeans.
Aside from the...
review »Apple - ipod 5th generation
The user interface of the 5G Nano remains almost entirely unchanged with the exception of a few new menu items for the video camera, FM radio, and fitness features. The larger 2.2-inch screen can now display up to 12 lines of menu text (up from 10) and the Now Playing screen lists artist, album, and title information in three bolder, more readable lines at the top of the screen.
The majority of the Nano's hardware design elements remain the same as well. Apple's iconic Click Wheel navigation can still be found on the front of the device, just below the curved glass screen. The Nano's wheel measures...
review »SanDisk Sansa Clip (2 GB, 500 Songs) MP3 Player
Or several stacks of dimes, anyway. The SanDisk Sansa Clip+ is very similar to its predecessor in design, which means you still get an ultracompact shape (2.1 inches tall by 1.3 wide by 0.4 inch thick), a light weight (0.9 ounce), and a superhandy built-in belt-clip on the back of the device. That said, there are some notable--though very minor--differences between the physical aspects of the Clip+ and its predecessor. First, the player's control pad is square rather than circular, though it is the same five-way configuration, with play/pause, track FF/RW, and a contextual menu button surrounding...
review »Sony Network Walkman NWZ-S545 (16 GB) Digital Media Player
Sony did not skimp on the construction of the X-Series Walkman, which is modeled after a with its glossy face and back plates wrapped in a glittering textured edge. The player is made of sturdy metal and has a weighty quality that makes it feel as expensive as the price tag insists. It's not as slim as the iPod Touch, measuring 3.8 inches by 2.1 inches by 0.4 inch, but it's still quite pocket-friendly, and the 3-inch OLED display is nothing to scoff at. Our one complaint is that the shiny surface is extremely smudge-prone and nearly impossible to keep clean given the touch screen interface.
Apple - 32 gb ipod touch
For better or worse, the first thing we noticed about the third-generation iPod Touch is how unchanged it looks. Side by side with the second-generation iPod Touch, you'd be hard-pressed to find a way to distinguish the two models from each other. Aside from minor differences in the etching on the back of the Touch, the second- and third-generation models are spitting images of each other Just like its phone-wielding sibling, the iPhone, the iPod Touch is a touch-screen device with a glass-covered 3.5-inch screen that sports a 480x320-pixel resolution. In spite of its touch-screen interface, Apple...
Zune - zune hd
Like any touch-screen device, most of the Zune HD's functions are controlled by pressing or swiping your finger on the responsive capacitive display. Only three buttons have made their way into the hardware, including a large power/hold button on the top edge, a slim home button below the screen on the front of player, and a button on the left edge of the device for quickly calling up the Zune's onscreen playback and volume controls. We're not sure why the designers didn't just take a page from the iPod Touch and turn the side button into a dedicated volume control. Frankly, it's a pain to adjust...
review »Apple - apple - ipod touch
What Can I say about this ipod but it's really great. This ipod tops all other ipods that came out before this one. One word I can say about this ipod is that it's 'great'. It has all the best applications that I want in a machine. It not only come with all the application I want but it also has a touch screen for me to play games. I love the fact that I can play games which I love to do when I want to stress out. I also love that I can add all my favorite songs which I my taste changes from day to day and I can add all the oldies that I love.
Apple ipod touch 8GB also has application that I can...

FitNow, Inc - Lose It! App for iPod Touch/iPhone
It's a great app for doing 2 things: tracking what you eat and what you burn (exercise) and those 2 things are key to losing weight, getting in shape, and living healthy.
Things I like are: the quite extensive database is offline, so I don't have to be connected to use the app (I have an iPod Touch), the interface looks nice, it doesn't try to do too much (it has it's function and does it well, no need to bog it down with useless functions). It's free! Other apps that don't do half what this one does, charge for their apps. You can add your own foods, recipes, & exercises.
Things I don't like...
review »Apple - iPod Touch
I use the ipod touch mainly for the internet browsing and phone calls. There are many other features of the ipod touch, such as playing music, playing video, playing games, etc. I take the ipod touch as a convenient way of having a tiny computer in my palm, and a replacement of phone at home. Overall the battery life is good (normally two to three hours for my personal use per charge), the screen is crisp and the software/os is stable. The enlarge/shrink function of the touch screen is especially handy when the safari browser is used. With the help of many applications available through itunes...

Apple - iPod Touch
Just like its phone-wielding sibling, the iPhone, the iPod Touch is a touch-screen device with a glass-covered 3.5-inch screen that sports a 480x320-pixel resolution. In spite of its touch-screen interface, Apple includes a few physical buttons, including a slim volume control on the left edge, a hold switch on the top, and a home button on the face of the player, placed below the screen. The bottom edge of the Touch includes the same universal dock port and 3.5-millimeter headphone jack as previous models, piercing the otherwise unbroken expanse of chromed steel that wraps around the back and...
