I've now had this HP Pavilion a6400f for a little over a year. My old custom-built one was getting a little wacky and my parents surprised me with this brand new computer they purchased for around $500 at Office Max (they thought the deal was good enough that they even bought one). For a lower costing computer, this desktop had a lot of really nice features:
I've had no issues at all with this desktop and I can't believe how quiet it runs...it's got to be one of the quietest computers I've ever had! As of a couple weeks ago, I've upgraded some of the features in this unit: I added 3 more GB of memory (I now have a total of 6 running) and have gone from the Vista OS to Windows 7. The upgrades were easy to do and I haven't had any problems yet. I've also gone from the 32-bit system that the computer was set up for to a 64-bit system (yes, the system was compatible to perform the upgrade so I'm now able to use all of my 6 GB of memory - the 32-bit only allowed me to use up to 3 GB). I was also thinking of upgrading the video card but found out that this model only has a 250 W power supply max and most of the video cards need more than that - so if you're thinking along those lines, you'll probably have to upgrade your power supply as well.
For the price, you can't beat what you get in this little package!
