My experience with Holmes heaters is that they are inexpensive, but do not last a long time. They also do not do a good job of spreading the heated air through a room. The Holmes Tower Heater will definitely keep you warm and cozy.

We bought the Holmes Tower Quartz heater with Max Flow in the winter of 2006. We have a three bedroom home and sometimes sit together in the family room to watch tv. Friends who visit us say it is warm and cozy in our home even though the large furnace is not on. The tower heater has low and high settings on one dial and the other dial has a thermostat setting from low to high with ten selections for settings. It has an easily distinguishable red reset button on the back. If the heater is accidentally knocked over or even tilted it will automatically shut off. The model number is MQH305. ... review »

This heater does what we want it to and was a reasonable price!

We bought this heater recently after looking at several different brands and models. It was an excellent choice for us. We heat mostly with a woodstove and have backup electric heat, which can get quite expensive. Since there are only two of us, and my husband works 12 hr shifts, it is not always practical to build a fire. We keep the electric heat down so that it will only turn on if it gets really cold, so that the pipes won't burst. I use this heater in either the bathroom or bedroom mostly. The Holmes Upright space heater is a great product. It's easy to use. It is light weight. It keeps the area warm. It has a great safety feature. If it tips over it will shut off. If you touch it you won't get burned though. It's a great value for your money. I like that it's light weight so it's easy to move it from one room to the next. That was important to me when selecting a space heater.

The space heating is good for a little room for quick warm up. not for long term use. The remote is good to control all the functions in the unit. The unit itself is at a good height about 30" and small but average power level for averge rooms
