Sephora Color Play Palette II

Sephora Color Play Palette II
I knew this Color Play Palette was too good to be true!
busy mom, like trying new things, an online shopper, beauty product lover

DEC
27
2009

I love having a nice assortment of eye shadow colors to choose from when I do my make-up, so when I first received my Sephora Color Play Palette II in the mail, I was in beauty product heaven.  This large make-up kit includes 36 eye shadows, 12 lip glosses, 2 blushes, a bronzer, a face powder and a couple make-up brushes.  It all comes in a slim, rectangular compact, with a small mirror on the top.  This make-up collection was only $24.00, but unfortunately, I am totally disappointed because the make-up is not high-quality at all.  On a good note, the product description states that this kit...

Smucker's Uncrustables

Smucker's Uncrustables
These tasty, ready-made sandwiches are a major convenience!
a first-time parent, busy mom, willing to pay for convenience

DEC
26
2009

I wanted to bring some convenient, easy-to-make snacks and meals for my recent vacation, and I thought Smucker's Uncrustables would be perfect for my toddler, and they were!  My son absolutely loves them, and I love how convenient they are!

A Smucker's Uncrustable is a frozen, round, peanut butter and jelly sandwich that has no crust.  What makes these sandwiches so neat is that they are pre-made and frozen, so you can defrost them as needed, and have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich ready anytime you want.  They only take 30-60 minutes to defrost, so I take one out before my son's nap so...

common sense

common sense
Glenn Beck - anything but COMMON but he does make SENSE
busy mom, reading non-fiction, trying to be more politically aware

Glenn Beck's Common Sense:  The Case Against an Out-of-Control Government, Inspired by Thomas Paine

It seems that most people who are familiar with Glenn Beck either love him or hate him.  I fall into the former category and a little embarrassingly admit that I even have a bit of a mom crush on him.  I was first introduced to Mr. Beck when I read his book, An Inconvenient Truth, which I really enjoyed.

I wouldn't call myself a political junkie but I have found myself pursuing a higher level of knowledge in politics in the past few years.  I was too busy daydreaming about boys to pay much...

Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite

Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite
Good Car Seat for the Price
busy mom

DEC
27
2009

Right now we currently have three different Alpha Omega Elite car seats.  I have two children, one is three years old and the other is one and a half.  We originally had the peg perego primo viaggio system and the Alpha Omega Elite was the first forward facing car seat we purchased for him.  We have had the car seat now for about two years and it is still in really good shape.

The reason we like these car seats is the price.  If you check on the web, sometimes you can find one for around one hundred dollars.  My daughter was bigger than my son so we actually purchased her's early and she started...

Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe Travel Galore System

Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe Travel Galore System
Graco Quattro Tour Travel System is amazing.
budget conscious, married, busy mom

DEC
26
2009

The Graco Quattro Tour Travel System has been amazing for both of our kids. We had the single one when our first was born, then got the double when baby #2 came 21 months later. I feel like the car seat is very safe and the stroller is wonderful too. This is one of the lighter double strollers, and I like that the infant seat is closest to me, so I can take care of my baby while my todller enjoys the view from the front. It's easy to fold up and unfold. I also love the snack and drink holders for me and my kids.

Cosco Convenience High Chair

Cosco Convenience High Chair
Thank you Cosco!
budget conscious, experienced parent, busy mom, looking for durability, parent of toddlers, a diaper changing mama!, loving this product

DEC
29
2009

I can't believe there were any bad reviews about this high chair. I bought this with my first child, over 5 years ago, and I still have it today. It's went through my 3 kids and I'm hanging onto it for the next one.. whenever that might be!

Obviously this high chair is durable because my kids don't really take it easy on things. It's a breeze to clean. The entire thing is plastic, including the seat cover, so I just threw the cover in the sink when I did my dishes and let it air dry. It was very easy to assemble compared to other baby products I've assembled in the past. You usually need a team...

Lavanila Vanilla Coconut Body Butter

Lavanila Vanilla Coconut Body Butter
If you like the smell of suntan lotion you will like this
Willing to pay for quality, busy mom, quality conscious, married, a woman

DEC
30
2009

On my recent order to Sephora I used my points to get a free deluxe sample of my choosing. I decided to get Lavanila Vanilla Coconut Body Butter. I love coconut and lotions and I also really like the idea of this lotion being all-natural.

I received a 1 oz. trial size but an 8.5 oz. size will cost you $25. It's available for purchase at Sephora, Lavanila.com and a few other sites. This lotion is made of all-natural ingredients. There are no petrochemicals, phthalates, propylene glycol, mineral oils, silicone, synthetic dyes, sulfates or parabens. A few of the ingredients this lotion does contain is...

Matrix Hydrating

Matrix Hydrating
Because of " Matrix" my hair can be stretched and it won't break
au 'naturale', Willing to pay for quality, fun loving, busy mom, lipgloss only

DEC

2009

I love any Matrix shampoo. This hydrating shampoo in particular is awesome! It should be used everyday. I have used it for years and my hair has been very long for years, past my butt. It is extremely healthy naturally platinum blond hair and i just got a trim for the first time in 10 years! Trimming will make your hair grow faster anyway but my hair has been so healthy i haven't needed a trim because i use this shampoo. I stopped using this shampoo for about a year at one point. I just thought i would save a few bucks. It took a while before my hair started showing any change because it is so...

shark Stick vac Vacuum

shark Stick vac Vacuum
Shark StickVac does a good job, easy, lightweight, & inexpensive
Willing to pay for quality, Homeowner, busy mom

DEC
25
2009

When I first saw the Shark Stickvac, I thought there's no way its going to do a good job.  It was so light weight and small!  But, it did a great job of sweeping the kitchen and bathroom floors.  I will never use a broom and dustpan again.  It takes up very little room in the pantry, and makes quick work of sweeping the floor.  I have the kind of kitchen that needs to be swept daily, and it literally takes me 2 minutes.  The way it is designed it sucks up crumbs and debris right along the corners and baseboards.  It fits under the cabinets perfectly to get all the nooks and crannies clean,...

Palmer's Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula for dry itchy skin soothing oil

Palmer's Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula for dry itchy skin soothing oil
I couldn't last through my pregnancy with out Palmer's!
practical, itching, busy mom, a woman, married, value conscious

DEC
29
2009

WOW!!! I LOVE this product!! It's fast and easy to use. Just spray your belly after your shower (before toweling off). After a few moments pat dry. It's a spray oil that really helps stop all itching from stretched dry skin.

I just happened to find it when I was pregnant with my first child. I used it everyday. I liked that it not only kept my skin from itching but, soft and moisturizes as well. I knew then it was great but, when I became pregnant this time (now 6 months ago) I was at a loss to find it. I looked for this everywhere and when I would ask for it at stores no one knew what I was talking...

LG WM-0532HW Front Load Washer

LG WM-0532HW Front Load Washer
Best Purchase EVER
appreciate reliability, looking for durability, Willing to pay for quality, Homeowner, busy mom

DEC
25
2009

I was relunctant to try an LG washer because I'd heard some negative comments on them before looking at them.  I went to Home Depot and this washer was recommended to me by a sales associate--and I was looking at a more expensive washer to begin with!  He convinced me to purchase this washer and it has more than exceeded my expectations.

The washer uses very little water but manages to get my clothes cleaner than any top loading machine did.  It runs so quietly that at first I was afraid it wasn't working!

At first I was intimidated by the vast number of buttons and dials but quickly learned...

LEGO City Police Headquarters

LEGO City Police Headquarters
Lego City Police Headquarters is fun for both kids and adults!
buying for durability, a fan of educational toys, busy mom, buying classic toys, quality conscious

DEC

2009

My son, who recently turned six years old, started playing with Legos this past year.  He began small and built things like a Racer car or a Star Wars vehicle.  I was fortunate to find a huge container of various Legos at a garage sale that kept my son busy for hours each day (and still does months later).

Now that my son is getting older, he is able to follow the basic Lego instructions on his own and has requested the larger (i.e. more expensive) Lego sets.  While he hasn't received any of the large sets yet, his older cousin just got the Lego City Police Headquarters (#7744) set and...

Boots Flat Iron 1 inch

Boots Flat Iron 1 inch
As good as CHI
a person with long hair, Have thick hair, troubled by acne, Willing to pay for quality, fun loving, busy mom, appreciative of good service, practical

DEC
24
2009

I was desperate for a flat iron fix while on vacation in the UK, as the one I brought along was not compatible with my voltage converter. At the famous sundry shop BOOTS, I found what I thought would be a quick-fix solution to get this mop through a trip to the rainy kingdom. Upon using it, I found it to be equally as convenient, functional, lightweight, heat-retaining, and kind to my hair as the super-popular CHI irons I have used at home. The major difference being, I paid 12 BPS (about 23 US dollars at the time) as opposed to the US$100.00+ at which a CHI iron retails. I invested in a compatible,...
