At the Stroke of Madness
I read another Alex Kava novel in the past and thought it was decent enough, so I decided to give another one of her books a try: At the Stroke of Madness. It is a fiction book based on Kava's main character FBI Special Agent, Maggie O'Dell.
Some of the same characters from the previous book I read were also in this book too. It starts off with bodies being found in barrels down in an abandoned quarry. The police keep finding body after body and they also find something in common with these bodies - but I won't tell you because I don't want to give anything away. With all the bodies being...
review »Tom Brokaw - The Greatest Generation
There is, in American culture and its language, a seemigly unerring penchant for the use of hyperbole and terms such as The Best of...The Most Popular...and The Greatest to promote, sell or attempt to sway people in some form or another.
You've probably seen at least a few "Greatest Movies" or "Greatest Sports Figures" lists in the course of watching television, browsing the Web or reading the newspaper. If you're into politics, doubtlessly you've seen lists of historians' "Greatest Presidents" lists and watched, bemusedly perhaps, as changes in the political mood of the country move certain...
review »New Moon (The Twilight Saga, Book 2)
The second installment of the "Twilight" series, "New Moon" was an intense read for me. I was enthralled from the very first sentence, and rarely put it down for anything. The characters from the first book come back in a new and exciting way with more emotions and more personal history. It is difficult to write a review that doesn't spoil any vital parts of the book, but I can say that the storyline was immensely expanded here and that questions are answered, but many more questions will plague you by the end of the book. You will want to keep reading the rest of the series as soon as you finish...
review »Seventeen Magazine
The Bottom Line: For mature teens heavily into fashion, make-up and celebrities, Seventeen may be right. I don?t recommend subscriptions for young/highly impressionable girls. Seventeen is too materialistic.
Review: Thank Goodess, I have survived my pre-teen years and teen years. Either I was a normal adolescent experiencing the pits and peaks of life or I was going bi-polar disorder. Before subscribing, I'd purchase a few copies to see if the content is what I expect. The magazine has changed over the years.Good overall magazine for older teens!
had a subscription to Seventeen magazine not too...

Llama, Llama Red Pajama [2005, Viking, ISBN: 0-670-05983-8 Hardcover] by Anna Dewdney is a delightful and fun32-page children's rhyming book about a little llama who is going to bed.
Well, he's supposed to be going to bed. Mama llama has tucked him and is downstairs busy washing dishes, but her little one decides he wants a drink of water. Mama Llama plans to be there in just a moment, but the phone rings. Little llama tries to be patient, but it isn't working very well as he experiences various emotions progressing from to an all-out emergency during the wait.
The illustrations compliment the...
review »Atlas Shrugged
Atlas Shrugged, is absolutely the best book I ever read. The book focuses individualism and egotism. Basically, it advocates individuality to collectivism. Through this book Rand explored her philosphy of Objectivism even more. The book does this in a highly capitalist society. The main character of this story is Dagny Taggart, she is the vice president of taggart transcontinental a railroad company. Taggart is unlike many of the characters, she realizes that society is crumbling around her, as the governments takes control of capitalist society. The "moochers" in the story start to take over...
review »Girls life Magazine
I'm 35 years old. I fainally found a magazine that I can relate to. I used to read Teen Vogue, Glamour,Harper's Bizaare and Seventeen ,but when I first read Girl's Life ( with a Miley Cyrus cover) I knew that I found something that was rare and special. I just started to read this magazine about 3 months ago. The content is exactly what my issues are. Fashion, weight, diet, shopping and sin and hair care. Exactly, come on admit that is all that is really important. Even if you are a 45 year old woman, think about it. The balance between fashion and health is exactly 50% so it leaves...
review »Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1)
I didnt want to read this book at first because i honestly thought that any books with a vampire in it would not be that good but i was deffinitly wrong. this book is great, and it really leads you wanting to read the other three books! if you dont like to read but you have to read a book, deffinitly read this one because it has a lot of action and everything that you think is going to happen deffinitly doesnt! the book looks like its really long and that it would take a long time to read but it goes by really fast. i wasnt expecting to get hooked, but after you read the first one then you have...
review »Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1)
I was initially hesitant to read the Twilight series because it was a) what everyone else was doing, and b) a juvenille literature series. After several friends, whose tastes I respected and trusted, recommended it to me, I decided to give it a try. I found it fascinating.
Stephanie Meyers creates a vampiric world unlike traditional vampiric worlds. Her vampires aren't burned by the sun, they glitter in it like walking diamonds. Her vampires are vegetarians (they don't attack humans), although her family group is one of the very few "vegetarian" vampire groups. And her vampires, at...

review »All You Magazine
I subscribed to All You magazine about 5 months and have already extended my All You subscription to two years because I was so impressed by this magazine. I subscribe to other simialiar magazines, Woman's World, Woman's Day and Family Circle but I usually get very bored with them quickly. The cover of All You is very eye catching, but more importantly it tells me exactly what I will find inside.
Often the other magazines would give a bold front cover topic but the article inside was very incomplete or barely really touched on the topic I was expecting to read. If the Other magazines article...
review »O, The Oprah Magazine
I've subcribed to the Oprah magazine off and one for quite some time and recently resubcribed encouraged by a pretty decent subscription rate offer. It is a nice big magazine so the price was a bargain. The magazine has lots of advertisements which I find my self bookmarking for later research. There are loads of articles but sometimes about half leave me feeling like I'm still waiting for more to come if you know what I mean (some leave you feeling like the article didn't quite reach its point). It is very nicely put together.I sometimes find that I have to read through it twice just...

Cosmopolitan Magazine
Cosmo is every girl's guide to success. It is absolutely amazing. It has tips on every topic from health to men. I use it all the time when I give my boyfriend the quizzes. He loves it!
I think the magazine provides insite to issues which are important to women. Many of the health issues which the magazine talks about are real threats such as the human papilo virus and breast cancer. It's different hearing the seriousness of these illensses from a magazine which we trust rather than a doctor who's job is to diagnose patients.
The magazine offers a friendly way to learn about health related issues....
