University of Phoenix -

University of Phoenix -
Don't go there
a serious student

DEC

2009

I did a lot of research about online schools. Being a single mom with my youngest not in school yet, i figured i would get a headstart by taking a few online classes before I go in full time. This is more of a business than a school. you cant even transfer your credits from there to any private university; which should be you first sign that something is wrong. Schools you can transfer credits from are Phoenix College and Rio solano. Your best bet when trying to take classes online though is to first check with your local community college, like here in AZ we have paradise Valley Community College,...

Soka University of America

Soka University of America
In Soka, above all things there is LOVE!

DEC

Yes, Soka does have a 9:1 student/faculty ratio, offers finantial aid to all students (nationals and internationals), has delicious food in the cafeteria, and has exception residence life. But above all things, there is love:

Love for learning

Love for getting to know other cultures

Love for our personal goals

Love for making the beat out of experience here

Love for making SUA the best possible college

Love for growing into contributing citizens

Love... for Soka

Eastern Kentucky University

Eastern Kentucky University
Great school if you want a one-minded view of everything.
a serious student, paying for school, a college grad, a good test taker, pc-user, public school grad, not rich, lived on AND off campus

DEC

2009

Eastern is a "be like us" or "be mistreated/not respected" kind of school.  At least in Richmond.  The Corbin campus isn't as bad (you can leave it).  I'd say the other extended campuses aren't as bad either.  But the students are bad enough, but they are brainwashed by the aweful professors.  I honestly wonder how most of the professors there got hired, and how they are allowed to stay.  There is clearly collectibely one liberal mind among the campus.  It was hard to find anyone who had a single shred of value or dignity or intelligence to their name.  Not to mention all the partying...

University of South Carolina-Upstate

University of South Carolina-Upstate
USC Upstate is a good option for a non traditional student.
paying for school

DEC
16
2009

USC-Upstate, formerly known as USCS, is an accessible metropolitan University. In addition to offering four year degrees, USC-Upstate offers graduate programs in education. The advantage of attending USC-Upstate is that it is more affordable than other colleges and is ideal for a working adult student. Many USC-U students are over twenty-five and work full time.

While there are some advantages in terms of acessibility and affordability, there are some disadvantages. I would not recommend USC Upstate for an academically gifted student who wants more of a challenge. Some of the classes are taught...

AIU - Business Administration

AIU - Business Administration
The Best Online University
Every day computer user, a serious student, value conscious, too busy to make beds, Willing to pay for quality, Homeowner, a green thumb, saving a little

DEC

2009

As a student seeking to earn my Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, AIU took all the necessary steps to make sure that I received the proper counseling about my academic past and future.  They said that this was important to ensure that I received a successful academic experience.  I felt that this was important to me because if you do not know where you have been, how are you going to ensure that you are headed in the right direction.

The next step AIU took was to see that I received a complete understanding about the costs involved in my chosen academic plan.  AIU also gave me...

Howard Payne was such a great place that I work for HPU
solid C student

DEC

2009

Howard Payne is a special place. I made many lifelong friends and received an excellent education. After graduating I spend some time in the outside workforce but when a job opened up at HPU, I knew I wanted to come back. No place is perfect, but neither am I. It is the Christian atmosphere, pursuit of academics, and solid character of the students, faculty and staff make it a great place.

Are you in Houston or are you looking at this school from somewhere else inthe country.  If you are in Houston and you are looking at UH ,  then it is likely that you don't have many choices right.  Well it is still a good school ,  if that is the case.  University of houston has some of the best programs at least in the south.  And if you have to pay for it -  this is probably the cheapest University in Houston.  Any way when I  went to UH I had alot of friends from Dallas.  I was extremely active -in many clubs ,but the academics are not lacking.  You-  reading can probably write...

University of Massachusetts-Amherst

University of Massachusetts-Amherst
Umass Amerst has something for everyone
a good test taker, into the social scene

DEC
13
2009

The University of Massachusetts at Amherst is truly a place to discover yourself. No matter what you are into this school truly has something for everyone. The large size of the school allows you to pursue many different interests. If you are looking for the social scene there is plenty of that. It could be in the dorms, frat row, or an off campus apartment. Since it is such a large school the town caters to it's students. Late night food is readily available for delivery to your dorm. The down side of the school is the long walks to class. New England weather is very harsh so fighting the elements...
