Glee

Glee
Into quality tv, Not easily enticed by new TV shows

JUN
28
2009

If you watched Kris Allen  and Adam Lambert duke it out on  American Idol on May 19, 2009, then stayed tuned to Fox you might have caught the pilot episode of the next great television comedy-drama, Glee.   If you didn't, well, here's what you missed.

The problem with a lot of "dramedys" is they either get too cutesy or too serious, or they have characters that make you say, "who cares?", or they just plain try too hard.  Glee is guilty of none of those.  Created by  Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan and set in a fictional high school (William McKinley High) in Lima, Ohio, Glee...

Stouffer's Lean Cuisine Chicken Florentine Lasagna

Stouffer's Lean Cuisine Chicken Florentine Lasagna
Lean Cuisine eater, Italian food lover

JUN

2009

The Stouffer's Lean Cuisine Chicken Florentine Lasagna looks very appetizing from the box.  You see layers of lasagna filled with chicken, veggies and a creamy white sauce.  Unfortunately what you get is nothing like the picture.

My first bite was delicious, I got a bite of almost everything and it was very flavorful.  After my first bite, I noticed that all of the filling that is supposed to be layered between the lasagna noodles was all on top of the lasagna.  So each time I took a bite, I got a mouthful of three lasagna noodles all pressed together.  Pasta stuck together doesn't taste...

Kashi GOLEAN Waffles

Kashi GOLEAN Waffles
into trying new things, health conscious, loving this product, watching my weight, willing to pay for quality

JUN

Waffles are a delicious form of breakfast (or any other meal for that matter) but they are usually so rich that sometimes you end up feeling overly-sated and sleepy for a while afterward.  Now the famous Kashi Company has come up with a waffle we can feel good about eating ... Kashi GoLean Waffles.  These fresh warm breakfast goodies come in several flavors of which I chose Blueberry.  They pack the great nutritional punch found in Kashi cereals and deliver this in a product which fortifies and satisfies you for hours without putting your feet to sleep.  A six pack of these waffles is a bit...

Safety 1st Easy Saver Diaper Pail

Safety 1st Easy Saver Diaper Pail
a first-time parent, a mom

JUN
29
2009

When I was registering for my baby registry, I asked my friends what their experience was with certain products before I made my own decisions.  One of things I inquired about was diaper pails.  I heard that Diaper Genie is a pain in the butt and the refills were expensive, so I didn't bother with it; instead I got the Safety 1st Easy Saver Diaper Pail.  It appeared to be a relatively nice diaper pail and it was inexpensive, so it seemed great at the time.

The Safety 1st Easy Saver Diaper Pail can easily pop open with one hand for disposing dirty diapers.  It uses regular trash bags,...

Benefiber Fiber Supplement Powder

Benefiber Fiber Supplement Powder
watching my weight, mom of 3, Trying to get more fiber

JUN
30
2009

Most of us don't get enough fiber and that includes me.  So I supplement my fiber using Benefiber Non Thickening Powder.  The Fiber supplements have come a long way in the last few years, they used to be gritty and disgusting, and no matter how hard I tried I could not get a full serving of it down.

The Benefiber of today is wonderful.  It dissolves in to what ever you are drinking and you barley even notice it is there.  It just blends in.  There is no grit, thickness, or aftertaste at least not for me.

One serving for adults is 2 teaspoons.  For optimall health you would take tht3 times...

JUN

I read the book My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult almost two years ago and I emailed Picoult and told her I would love to see the book made into a movie.  I was pleasantly surprised when a few months later she emailed me back and said my wish was coming true, My Sister's Keeper was coming to the big screen!  By then my sister had already read the book as well as a good friend of mine and we were all waiting for the movie to premiere.

My younger sister's birthday is July 1st so I planned a day with the girls to get her to the movie.  One of my nephews asked if he could tag along because he...

CoverGirl Volume Exact Mascara

CoverGirl Volume Exact Mascara
a mascara lover, beauty product lover, like trying new things

JUN

2009

I have tried a LOT of mascaras on my quest to find the perfect one.  Even though I have found a couple really great mascaras, I still have fun finding new ones - enter CoverGirl Volume Exact Mascara.  I absolutely love Lash Blast and Lash Exact, so I thought I would love this one too, but that's not the case.

CoverGirl says: "Volume Exact has an innovative, flexible brush with tiny micro chambers that surround individual lashes with the right amount of mascara to create voluminous, yet separated lashes."

I was disappointed in CoverGirl Volume Exact Mascara because it provides absolutely no...

Hats in the Belfry

JUL

2009

Almost 20 years ago on a cool December day in 1989, Mom, my aunt and I were strolling along the sidewalk in the then relatively new Bayside Marketplace. While my mother and her older sister were happily browsing through the storefronts, I was in a less-enthusiastic mood; I didn't yet have a credit card, and in my wallet I had less than $30.00...and since I've never been fond of going to a mall just to walk about and "window shop," I was not very happy. All I wanted was to either find a Waldenbooks outlet or for my mom and her sister to get tired so we could get home.

In one of those strange little...

Mitchum Mitchum for women, Clear Gel

Mitchum Mitchum for women, Clear Gel
a beauty diva, a busy person, classic

JUN

2009

Bought this about 2 weeks ago after I heard that a lot of people with sweating problems have used it and like it.  I dont sweat a lot and I dont smell...I just like a deodorant that works--all day long.  I like to wear a lot of tops that are strapless and sleeveless--so no white marks are a must.  I picked up the Mitchum because it claims "leaves no trace on clothes".  Well, I can tell you thats a lie.  I had to switch shirts after it had been on for about an hour and it left a few white lines accross it.  Not too noticeable...but there were markes left.
It kept me feeling dry all day long...but...

Victoria's Secret VS Cotton push-up bra

Victoria's Secret VS Cotton push-up bra
a Victoria's Secret fan, a beauty diva, picky, a busy person

JUN

2009

From the site: The softest, stretchiest, sexiest cotton ever. Our signature collection, redesigned with lots of little extras. Logo-free band.

  • A softer, silkier finish
  • Improved padding for a better fit and shape
  • Soft, lined straps that stay put

I hate this bra.  They advertised a sale on these, so I bought 2.  I was excited to try the cotton bras because I am always looking for comfort and the silkier finished bras all seem to slide around throughout the day. I thought the VS cotton might just help out with this.  Nope. This bra is so uncomfortable that I found myself constantly tugging...

2009

I have used Photobucket in the past, but have found several places in their security that gave me cause for concern so I quit using it.  However, today after deciding to finally get rid of the last of the baby items in my household (after all my fourth child is almost 3 now) I knew I needed a place that was easy to share the photos so that I could sell these items quickly and hopefully make some money.

After hours spent cleaning out the house, sorting toys and taking pictures I was looking forward to the final step of loading my pictures and then sharing them on Craigslist and to my mother's...

Aleve Caplets Pain Reliever/Fever Reducer

Aleve Caplets Pain Reliever/Fever Reducer
a chronic pain sufferer, a mom of older kids, Back Pain Sufferer, a busy person, a woman, headache sufferer

JUN

2009

I have fibromyalgia and have tried to use many different prescription and over the counter medications.  Tylenol ate up my stomach.  Other medications made me sick to my stomach or didn't work.  I tried Aleve one day, after my mother suggested that I give it a try.

Aleve is easy to use, and most days it works at relieving most of the daily pain I experience. I wake up almost every day needing relief from pain and stiffness before I can even head to my daughters bedroom to get them up.  Most mornings start with one or two Aleve and a glass of water.

With Aleve, most days I get the relief...

I am online a lot. I use it for work, for play, for planning, for sharing and for communicating.  I have used all types of programs from AOL Instant Message to Yahoo Chat, blogging services, website development, chat rooms, games rooms, surveys, and even have some of my own sites and more.  I held out for a long time (sending my friends into shock when I actually joined) before joining Facebook. A couple of months after that I decided to try Twitter and see what all the tweet tweet tweeting was about.

I joined.  I created my own little design page on Twitbacks.  I tried. I really tried....

JUN

2009

Friday night was my monthly Girls Night Out with Memaw and Carla.  We originally planned on seeing My Sister's Keeper but then the younger girls including me decided we wanted to watch that movie with sisters and girlfriends so we had a change of plans.

I have been a fan of Sandra Bullock since I saw her in the Speed movies.  I loved her in Hope Floats and an attorney from church took me to see Two Weeks Notice.  Family and friends saw Miss Congeniality and then it was brought to my attention that we resembled each other.  Could I be her long lost twin?

The leading cast of The Proposal...
