This is my second year putting up plastic film insulation. I had tremendous savings last year since I have old, leaky, single pane windows. But it feels like I'm living in a baggy.
The Frost King product sometimes has problems with the tape not adhering. I attributed this to maybe getting a kit left over from the previous year. Most of the time, the tape works well.
The Frost King product has "hard folds" in the large sheets of plastic as compared to "soft folds" of 3M or Duck. After using the hair blower, all the brands looked very clear but the Frost King had the occasional line left over from the fold. The film is very clear which is why this small defect is noticeable. In truth, the line is barely visible.
The plastic films develop wrinkles with extreme outdoor temperature changes. Touch-up with the hair dryer fixes that.
My experience with all the brands is that they all work very, very well if instructions are followed. I had occasional problems with the Frost King tape. 3M was double the price of Frost King and Duck was half the price and I had no problems with them. None of the tapes stick unless the surface is smooth and clean.
