Among many things, the local tech support they have hired are all over the age of 30 and more-than-likely uncertified redneck ignorant ... I think I'll stop there. They have 100s of Information Technology and Information Systems students to choose from if the needed more qualified employees. Here's the bottom line about this company: THEY DO NOT CARE!

Let me explain to you how their process works. They get you to sign a contract saying "You must pay us for x amount of time in order to get our service" where x equals most likely more than a year. They also are the only local DSL company in Statesboro, so they have even less of a reason to care. They provide DSL to all of the student housing apartments, meaning the lease offices pay for their services in bulk and include the actual DSL fee into each student's individual rent. This is why this company continues to suck on and on for years and years without improving the quality of its lines.

Since I've moved to Statesboro, the connection has degraded from 2400 kbps down, 385kbps up with 1% packet loss (minimal) to 1250 kbps down, 145kbps up with10%-35% packet loss (holy dog**** unbearable packet loss).

This is the main issue: Packet Loss. Through their local lines, they have extreme routing issues and most likely bad blades at every hub you hit along the way. If you are a power gamer such as myself, you will not stay connected to any game you play on this connection for more than about 30 seconds. This also goes out to those who would use Video Conferencing (not gonna happen on this connection)

If you are confused as to what packet loss does to a connection, the 1300 kbps doesn't mean a single thing, because once you lose enough packets, a distress signal is issued by your router and the connection resets (YOU GO OFFLINE FOR 15 SECONDS OR SO...)

So there you have it... Every 30 seconds, if you're sending enough packets, you are going offline for 15 seconds while your modem resets its connection. Honestly have fun with this company, and I personally hope some group actually takes them to court soon.
