FrontierNet —

My husband is a systems analyst, so he requires speed to be able to work from home. When we signed up with Frontier, we were guaranteed a speed of no less than 1MB. We were pleased with both the speed and the service. For a little over a year, we had absolutely no complaints. Sadly, when Frontier ran their promotion giving a free computer with the purchase of DSL, we watched our speed dwindle - especially after 4pm and on weekends. This made it difficult to impossible for my husband to work from home. There were nights he'd be called for a problem that he couldn't fix because our service was comparable to the service we had with dial-up. He would have to go in to work and fix a simple problem that could have been done from home.

When Frontier was contacted, they said they never had an offer where speeds were guaranteed above 1MB - and they've only had DSL service UP TO 1MB!! Exactly what does "UP TO" mean? Interesting that they never offered a high speed DSL, because when we signed the contract, there were two different prices offered and we were paying the higher price.

Frontier has us, and they know it. There is currently no competition in our area, and we are forced to stay at this point. We are still paying for high-speed DSL, but aren't getting it any more. It's really sad - the company and service was fantastic 2 years ago, but now - we'll be jumping ship as soon as we have opportunity to!!

Yes my Frontier DSL is not what I expected. I have to frequenly reset the modem and router ,some days several times a daily. Goodbye and good riddens to them. Verizon has better packages and speed .

I think Tweezle. hit the nail right on the head. For the last 9 months or so of my contract with frontiernet, the connections were terrible and they didn't offer any real solutions. Then they wanted to jack the price up by $15 a month for this crappy service. frontiernet is a BS ISP. I totally disconnected from them. Cheap *********
