Much of the excitement of sports is in watching a live game. With these streaming sports packages, you are able to watch live games in HD and access a number of additional features such as live stats, game highlights and more.
Even better, most sports programming packages allow you to view games and content through the internet or a mobile device. The sports package options are numerous, and there is something for every sports enthusiast, regardless of which sport or team you root for.
Viewpoints is now collecting reviews of video streaming services to help you learn the pros and cons of each. If you have experience with any of the below, please share your feedback by writing a review.
MLB.tv allows you to watch live games as well as on-demand and in HD on your television. The service costs $110 per year while the premium version ($130 per year) allows you to to watch the same content offered in the original package on any mobile or internet-enabled device, including tablets as well as a free subscription to the At Bat 13 app (regularly a $20 per year subscription).
“I share this with my dad so we can both watch the Yankee games. I stream mostly through my Xbox which is a great perk – since it’s HD and 1080p on a huge TV. He streams on his computer or watches the games on his TV. I have it on my tablet as well – but the quality isn’t as good as my Xbox – I believe due to the strength of connection as my Xbox is hard wired to the modem. We are both Yankee fans and don’t live in NY where they are broadcast locally.” -jweezy2, Chicago, Reviewer since 2010

As with the other professional sports packages, it’s ideal for someone whose favorite team doesn’t play on their local stations.
NFL RedZone is bundled in some cable sports packages, while some television service providers offer it for purchase at an additional cost of around $7 per month.
The channel allows you to view every touchdown from every game and provides current stats, highlights and key game moments. If you doubt the addictiveness of the RedZone, check out this review:
“Picture this..it’s a normal NFL Sunday Morning, you are excited to watch an NFL game, but your favorite team is playing on Monday night football so all you have to keep you interested is your fantasy football roster. You plop on the couch, turn on the NFL RedZone channel and won’t move again for the next 8 hours, bring the chips, beer or snacks with you… there are no- I repeat NO – commercial breaks. In a dizzying array of cut a ways you will be transported from one game to another in 30 second to 2 minute intervals, where you will be able to see EVERY TOUCHDOWN or significant play for every game in real time!!!! Next thing you know, it’ll be 6:30 at night, the early and afternoon games will be complete, your feet will be numb because you haven’t moved in 6 hours – but wow what a way to spend a day.” –WalterPaytin, Reviewer since 2013
