ebates.com Review

I have been an ebates user for about a year now. At first I didn't pay much attention to the site after becoming a member, but once I realized how much I shop online, I started to use it more and more.

Ebates allows you to earn cash back on your online purchases. You first have to log in to your account. Then you find the retailer you want to shop at. It will take you directly to that Web site and will track your purchases. Cash back will credit to your count within 30 days. Most sites are pretty good about processing the cash back quickly. There have been times where it didn't and I had to email customer service about it.

They usually credit the amount quickly, but a few times they did not and it was because they said the purchase did not qualify. For example, for Sears, you can't get cash back on purchases where you do an instore pickup. I didn't know that ahead of time and was disappointed that I did not get my cash back for purchasing an expensive dishwasher. I would have gone through another cash back program, like big crumbs,  if that was the case.

Ebates does not do a good job about letting you know the rules for each purchase. I think they should have that info right next to the retailer, and not in some fine print where no one can find it. Also, you can not use paypal when doing ebates, and get cash back.

In order to get your cash back check or paypal desposit each quarter, your account has to have at least $5 in it, not including referral bonuses.

You can earn $5 per person that you refer to ebates, but they have to make a qualifying purchasing before you get your money, which is understandable. I have made quite a bit of money from referrals, and the cash back seems to add up quickly here and there. Being able to get cash back on ebay, has been great.

Many times ebates will do double cash back promos, and other coupons for retailers as well.
