I discovered the eagle cam - set up in coastal Maine - last spring and spend every possible moment watching the nesting, incubating, and finally when chicks were hatched, feeding. Then the thrill of watching the eaglets learning to fly... they'd boldly go to edge of nest, flap wings, then retreat. One fell to a lower branch and flew back up within an hour. Even after they 'left', they'd come back to the nest and mama and papa would feed them. This went well into July. My friends grew weary of my endless babbling about "my babies". They will feel a part of your family, too. Hard to spend hours watching the loons/eagles without getting so attached

Sadly this year the terrible spring storm destroyed the eagle eggs, and the cam keeper thinks possibilities are slim for another pair to mate/nest there at this late date. But I still keep checking.

Meanwhile, not far away, a loon cam is set up. I've seen no action yet , but saw plenty last year. I think it was July or August when the loon eggs hatched last year.

To see either cam live, you need to install a plug in, which they provide on the site. Or if you prefer they change the still photos each 15 seconds. Either way, you get to observe what you'd never have opportunity to see without the hard work of these dedicated biologists. They write weekly informative reports on a blog where anyone can write in and post queries or observations. Please support this organization if you enjoy is as much as I do. There are links that will direct you to the donation site. You will be rewarded with a huge bang for your bucks!

Another feature of this site: You can view archived videos or pictures. They are beyond fascinating! <p>

This can be terrific family fun, and sooo educational.  And, teachers, you can keep this site on your classroom computer.  Even your toughest students will become absorbed with the hourly dramas played out on these sites!

This is great, not a site I knew, but I love websites that increase knowledge of nature.

Wow this sounds like a great site. You would love the wildlife cams my dad sets up in the woods. Digitals set up with motion sensor to capture all that go by. Pretty neat pics he gets. ~Carrie
