A very fast computer

By

from Somerset, NJ

Comments about eMachines desktop computer:

The eMachines EL1331 is a very fast computer. It has plenty of memory, which allows me to get everything done, without having to deal with the computer freezing on me. The computer comes with 2 GB of RAM, but it can be upgraded to an impressive 4 GB of RAM. I also really like that there are a total of 9 USB ports, with 5 in the front, and 4 in the back. That is very impressive, because I have never seen a computer with more than 6 USB ports. Another good thing about this computer is that its network card can handle gigabit speeds, with the use of the proper cabling. Gigabit speeds are helpful, especially when you have to transfer files from one computer to another, on your home network. This computer also comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit edition. It would be nice if it came with Windows 7 Professional edition, but Windows 7 Home Premium is still okay. I would highly recommend this computer to others.

So far no problems

By

from Morristown, NJ

Comments about eMachines desktop computer:

I purchased this about 9 months ago.  Mostly my kids use it.  The DVD player works well.  I needed to buy a monitor since it didn't come with one.  I prefered it that way, I wanted to pick the monitor myself, got a wide screen one.  The wireless connection was a newer one and so I had to purchase a USB since I use a g type router, the older kind.  But with that it does what I need it too.  For the money, it's a good buy.

buy a different computer

By

from Mifflinburg, PA

Comments about eMachines desktop computer:

emachines is a proprietary computer, most of it's components and software are made specifficaly for emachines and no one else. so new hardware costs more and is you try to change the software you will have a hard time if you change os's. this is not the computer that a begginner would want to purchase. I would not reccomend this to anyone.

win 7 is easier to use but will not take all of ur old programs

By

from Searcy, AR

Comments about eMachines desktop computer:

Windows 7 is very easy to use but it will not take all of my old programs. it tells me I have to go and buy the latest versions. I don't like that. I have a usb card that it will not use and will lock up the whole computer when I put it in. I took this card out of my old emachine so I know it works on emachines. it just don't work with windows 7. I love the new backgrounds and how you can make it change with your own pictures. I love the lock out so no one can use your computer while you are gone. I hated that you had to have a guest on XP but you don't have to have one on windows 7. That did not keep people out. I like the tab recovery feature if you browsers closes a tab than it can recover the tab in most cases every time. I do like that it turns on and shuts off fast compared to my old windows XP computer. if I would have to buy it again I would buy it but I would love if these little problems were fixed first.

Great Computer for the money

By

from Kittanning, PA

Comments about eMachines desktop computer:

I have pasted buying an emachine in the past because I have never heard anything good about this product. My Husband got me one for Christmas and I cn say that I Love It. As a lot more speed than any other computer that I have owned and there have been few of them. I play a lot of slots that you buy at WalMart or other store on my computer and this one keeps up on the memory and speed. The DVD writer is great it is better than the one I had on my compaq computer. It dose not skip while writing and te qulity is great when done. At first I was not all gong ho on the Windows 7.  That is until I got the computer hooked u and started using it. It has windows live e mail on it and you can add your old e mail address to your new windows live e mail so you dont have contact everyone in your ontact list to let them know that you have a new e mail address. This was a great thing for me because i do a lot of e mailing and not having to go back and forth or write down everyones address and set them up in my new one was GREAT. And emachines is nothing more than the cheaped compaq computer. You do know that compaq owns this product. It may be cheaper but I say it is a better computer than most of the compaqs out there today.I would not give up my emachine now for another computer right now. Love My emachine. The only con that i have found with my emachine is that my lexmark printer/scanner does not work with it so i will have to buy a new printer/scanner. Needed a new one anyway.
