I always like to buy the lowest-price item, and when it comes to computers, I go with Emachines desktops which comes with the printers and CRT screens. The printer can be any brand, and I've had Hewlett-Packard and Lexmark so far. They are usually available in a store like Circuit City or Best Buy. Not...

Received this computer last year for Christmas and have been pleased overall. I have never had a crash. I use the computer every day and the only problems I have noticed are that it sometimes runs slow and at times usb devices stop responding. The problem usually resolves after a minute or two with no... review »

This is a great computer.  It doesn't have all the extras you'd find in other bundle packages of HP or other, but it has it's fair share.  I had my first one for over 5 years until the lightening made our electric surge and it burnt out the modem.  I've had the 2nd one now for about 2 years.  I'd definitely reccomend it to the budget struck people out there.

I saw this computer first in Best Buy the price was right for me. A customer before me brought the last one in stock. While I was at WalMart the same day I saw the same computer for the same price and was able to make a purchase. It was easy for me to hook up and I've been working on it daily since February 10, 2008. It is very easy for me to use.

I was thrilled when i saw the emachines computer on sale at best buy in december of 2006.  Mainly because I believed it was a trusting brand and the rebates i would get back were around $600 total.  Which was like paying only $200 for a desktop computer.  It worked great initially and i didn't mind that  i had to do quite a bit of work collecting everything i needed to send through mail to make sure i got my rebate.  However, not even a few months later, after i had already received my rebates, the computer failed quite a few times in one day!  It would have error messages pop up saying... review »

In 2007, we went to Wal-Marts and bought the E Machines desktop computer. Within the first 6 months, we started having problems with it crashing, turning on by itself and off by itself. We took it to Best Buy where they replaced the motor inside the tower. Within the next few weeks, it starte again. So we bought a new surge protector and everything to make sure it wasn't us. Which it wasn't. I called the company and told them about the problems and they told me that they would be sending an empty box and for me to send them the computer and they will send me a replacement. Within a few days, I...

My emachine doesn't alway do what I wish it to. I'm not sure why, I suppose it could be me. But I haven't liked it since I took it out of the box. The computer is actually my mothers computer, but she has me set it up and work on it because she isn't very good with electronics. I was ok when I first set it up, I do belive she paid a little to much for a simple computer however. It doesnt even have a CD drive. Anyway, I set it up and was working just fine for about five months, and then it crashed. So I reinstalled the hard drive and got it all up and working again (losing all of her saved files...

I'm 82 years old and I need a computer that I can just plug in and use.  The emachine is that product.  It is reliable and easy to use, even for us oldtimers!  This computer system works.  I don't have the time or inclination to have to sit and read a whole computer manual before I can work on a new computer.  The Emachine is user friendly and can handle whatever jobs you need to do.  The Emachine is easy to clean with just a duster occasionally.  This machine has enough power to do what I need to do.  I like to search and research new products.  When I find a product I really like, I... review »

The e machine is okay, if had to do over again would probably choose something like a dell or something else.  It works for my kids but it's kind of slow. My kids love it but it's alway slow to me I'm always have to wait ten minutes or more for it to catch up.  my sister has a dell and it worked al ot faster than this.  I guess it serves the purpose it just takes a while.  My next computer I will shop a lot more.  Do my home work.  check out all my posibilities.  but like I said it works for my kids to do their school work and check emails but my goal is to work from home and I will need...

i can tell you now the throw away age is really here. my sister bought an emachine pc about 2 years ago. she had it loaded with many extras. after 2 years of general use (not alot of hours) it all of a sudden comes up with an error message saying display adapter not responding toook it back to the store she purchased it at best buy we talked to thier geek squad to find out mother board is no good. we asked how much to replace it they said 200.00 because they are hard to find the computer was only 499.00. i called emachines they said buy a new computer.throw away a new computer every 2 years @500.00...

alright.....here is the truth about this machine...I bought this computer from walmart for half the price of the "better" ones like dell and mac. I haven't had a single problem out of it except that it will run slow at times...but if will fix itself in a few minutes. I am a cost-conscious person so when I saw this computer I did my research and decided it was the right computer for my family. So I got it. I have a LCD screen that works perfectly with the e-machine. I also have a lexmark printer that works very well with this machine. SO far, I love it and I have and will again recomend this computer...

I was forced to replace my sluggish, 10 year old HP but, my money was pitiful. Everywhere I shopped, the best deal I could find was always nearly $600. Until I found an emachine PC. I'd never heard of it. I called my computer tech to ask would it be ok and he said, "Absolutely"!! I paid $298 before taxes and it had CD/DVD RW which I really wanted. Been using it about a month now. It's awesome!! Finally, something that gets the full benefit of my high speed internet connection. Plus, it is about 1/3 the size of my old HP. Can't say enough positive about emachine.

I have had my second emachine for a year now, my first one is 4 years old. I have had no problems with either. I highly recommend this computer for anyone who would like a good deal but not alot of problems. My first was a package deal with printer and a TON of rebates. I figured it wouldn't be the best but for what I could afford, I had hoped it would be good. I also didn't know alot about computers at that time. After owning it for a few years I wanted a second computer, I upgraded to this one and gave the other to my kids to use. They are both great.

when i saw this one i was drawn to it not only because it was priced almost unbelieveably. i didnt even care that the monitor was not included. this computer is fast and easy to set up and it has great performance when i play games or am online.. at only $300 i dont know what else you could possibly want from this desktop..i originally wanted to buy a lap top with my income tax refund but this was way better in terms of price and usability..my friend even bought the same exact computer and we are enjoying them greatly....a wonderful buy!
