eHarmony Review Summary

Single people have many ways to meet people and one way that has become very popular is via the internet. Among the different dating web sites, Eharmony.com ranks as the most popular of all. Eharmony.com was created by behavior specialists and a good number of marriages in the United States are the direct result of Eharmony.com. But overall opinions of Eharmony.com are mixed, with comments ranging from “Great Concept” to “Not the Best Dating Site for Me”. Among some of the issues singles have with Eharmony.com are its lack of sufficient matches and its many fees. Still, with the number of marriages it has produced, Eharmony.com must be doing something right. It ranks among the most visited Dating Web Sites on the internet and it has produced many happy customers.

Amazing Success Rate — I'm friends with one of the founders of eHarmony, and I see him once or twice a year.  In 2005, he told me, when I inquired, that eHarmony was responsible for 1% of all the marriages in the U.S.   When I saw him a year later, in 2006, he told me that the… read full review »

I originally signed up for eHarmony with a one month subscription. Despite finding the personality questionnaire laborious, I pushed on eager to find a personality match. After the first week I was pleased to find so many matches but none included a picture. From week 2 to week 4 I received only two more matches with no photos. During this first month I was able to reach only the first stage of contact. After stating my dissatisfaction and intent to cancel my membership, eHarmony talked me into trying again for an additional 3 months at the price of one month. — — During the next… read full review »

I tried this out with a friend of mine a while back... mostly as moral support for her.  I ended up meeting one of my matches, only to discover after one date that we were not a match at all.  I don't know what they use to base the matches on, especially since I had to go through so many questionnaires.  However, I don't think that their matching capabilities are all they say they… read full review »

E HARMONY OVERHYPPED — E HARMONY, the  largest dating service, at least in the US makes many claims, especially about the values and amount of good matches one can get by following its guidelines, which including answering varying sets of questions, some with canned answers before there can be direct contact, even anonymous.  Extols its many virtues and large number of referrals that members can get. Seems like the real McCoy. — In reality, this 68 yr old single male, with Ph.D., living in county with 500,000+ people yet not as prominent as Orlando, West Palm Beach-Miami,… read full review »

I've actually had two separate experiences with EHarmony.  The first time I signed up, I took the billion question personality test and started receiving matches in my inbox.  They were horrible.  If I am going to spend two hours taking a personality test, you'd think it would match me with people of similar interest and temperament.  Not so much.  The people who were referred to me were different from me in every way possible.  And they were well outside of the geographic range I selected.  I live in Baltimore, and dating someone in Richmond, VA, as… read full review »

I recently joined EHarmony, hoping to find a nice guy.  I figured if someone is willing to pay this kind of money to find that right mate, he is serious about finding her.  Well, in the couple of weeks that I have been a paying subscriber, I have received so many matches (which I normally wouldn't complain about), but so far 90% of them are not within my radius that I specified, and I have had like 2 or 3 respond up to about the third round and then they quit responding.  —  I am not going to sit and respond to each and every match that I was given and I think it's… read full review »

I answered a number of questions, spent a lot of time and put a lot of thought into my answers.  Only to have e-harmony reject me.  No reason, Just rejection.  I feel this could cause a lot of harm to those who are not the perfect, wealthy, beautiful people.  Rejection by a whole site or place is very damaging to those with low self… read full review »

The dating service, eHarmony, bringing people together that are compatible and creating long lasting partnerships, had a fabulous promotion for the Valentine's holiday this year.  They promoted unlimited communication with all matches they found, for their clients, from February 15th till the 18th.  At first I was a little reluctant, which cost me a day off the promotion.  This would be my second time signing up with them.  So, I finally signed up for their promotion on the 16th.  Still reluctant, I went through the first step, profile imaging.  There are several… read full review »

I did not even make it through the eharmony profile questions to long.  Do people really believe everything they read? Wow!  I feel a very small amount of people find success.   All others married, looking for quick action and will say anything for it.  Everyone is screened.  Not so.  I personally have seen several men portraying as single when they are actually married.  Or literally married men looking for affairs, and they say so.  I say, get out find something for yourself and the soul mate will be near.  Don't believe the hype of these… read full review »

I tried eHarmony many different times. The survey questionaire contains several answers that could apply to you, but you are only aloud to choose one. I strongly believe that there is more to chemistry and compatibility between people than just one answer questions. No matter how many times I took the survey, I was never compatible with anyone "at that time". Then I tried it again with completely opposite answers, and again, nothing. I truly felt it was just a waste of time. Glad to say that I found someone outside of on-line dating. Thanks anyway,… read full review »

I signed up for an E-Harmony 3 month membership in December.  I have yet to proceed to the point of actually communicating with anyone.  I find the canned responses extremely impersonal and not conducive to furthering any kind of connection.  I believe their ads are totally misleading.  They entice you with the "free" personality test and enter you into the system whether you are a member or not.  Have been more than disappointed with the experience and would not recommend it to anyone!  —… read full review »

If you will take the time to be honest on eharmony, you will find your match.  I am not a typical woman - have some interests that most men in my region don't share, but I found the one guy who would say the same about himself.  We have common interests and our weekends are filled with doing things we both enjoy.  I never would have found him without the help of eharmony, as we lived 40 minutes apart (until we moved in together and got engaged a year after we met.) Try… read full review »

I was highly disappointed with the eHarmoney website. — After spending far too much time in my opinion registering for the site, it turns out most of the ppl that were my so called "matches" weren't serious at all.  Every person I met wanted nothign mroe than a "hook-up" or to see racey photos. — Another downfall, I had to unsubscribe sevrel times to stop the massive amounts of junk mail they were sending me. — All in all not a good experience. —… read full review »

Now, keep in mind that I haven't accually used this website fully yet.  Its because after a 20 page questionaire, I didn't have any matches.  When they finally sent me a email stating I had a match, they wouldn't let me see her picture with out paying $60/mo.  My thoughts were, if I was attracted to her, i might pay the $60 for the chance to be happy.  But i'm not going to pay the money and regret it… read full review »
