I joined eHarmony with High expectations based on all the hype. Took complex personality test that was supposed to lead me into being matched with compatible ladies. Live outside the major FL metro areas like Orlando, Tampa-St Pete, Miami-West Palm Beach, Sarasota, Daytona, Jacksonville, I am 68, single, nice looking/trim gentleman with Ph.D. who has to continue working. Nonsmoker. I presumed most have good hygiene, are not addicts, racists or wild swingers.
Over a period of 6 mons, received over 650 referrals. Many of their personalities = totally unlike mine. Found about 80% who never answered even first set of questions or gave a courteous "not-interested" reply. Might have had six dates. No long term relationships or even second dates.
Found too many joined but then did not take the process seriously. Too many looking for quick match-ups. Chemistry counts, even though eHarmony says it is not important.
Received referrals about ladies living 300+ miles away and in different states.
eHarmony works for some. Has millions of subscribers. I suspect there is too much hype.
I DO NOT recommend people join eHarmony if not iliving in major metro areas, outside avg dating age range, if their photos are not like those of Bollywood stars and if they expect to get responses--even of noninterest--from many referrals.
eHarmony does not play my tunes. Inconsistent promotions. Too much hype.
n favorite target markets, appropriate ages,
