I joined eHarmony with High expectations based on all the hype.  Took complex personality test that was supposed to lead me into being matched with compatible ladies. Live outside the major FL metro areas like Orlando, Tampa-St Pete, Miami-West Palm Beach, Sarasota, Daytona, Jacksonville,   I am 68, single, nice looking/trim gentleman with Ph.D. who has to continue working. Nonsmoker. I presumed most have good hygiene, are not addicts, racists or wild swingers. 

Over a period of 6 mons, received over 650 referrals. Many of their personalities = totally unlike mine. Found about 80% who never...

E HARMONY OVERHYPPED

E HARMONY, the  largest dating service, at least in the US makes many claims,especially about the values and amount of good matches one can get by following its guidelines, which including answering varying sets of questions, some with canned answers before there can be direct contact, even anonymous.  Extols its many virtues and large number of referrals that members can get. Seems like the real McCoy.

In reality, this 68 yr old single male, with Ph.D., living in county with 500,000+ people yet not as prominent as Orlando, West Palm Beach-Miami, Tampa-St. Pete or Sarasota/Ft....

HMMMM, you would think that in this day and age you would find when it comes to certain industries, like internet dating and personal community sites that you would be open to just about anything..

I am sure there could be a room for just about anyone's tatse.

However e-harmony gives nothing but a SORRY BOUT YA when they make you fill out your entire profile, which takes ages if you actually think about it and fill it out properly, you get your picture loaded and spend all that time in anticipation and hopefullness, almost giddy and have that old feeling of passion that you did when you were...

I recently joined EHarmony, hoping to find a nice guy.  I figured if someone is willing to pay this kind of money to find that right mate, he is serious about finding her.  Well, in the couple of weeks that I have been a paying subscriber, I have received so many matches (which I normally wouldn't complain about), but so far 90% of them are not within my radius that I specified, and I have had like 2 or 3 respond up to about the third round and then they quit responding. 

 I am not going to sit and respond to each and every match that I was given and I think it's not really all that it's cracked...

The site itself is laid out well.  Since this site came out there have been several more to come on-line.  Some sites do offer more exclusivity, this one does not.

The choices of men in St Louis MO are slim to none for the type of gentleman that I am looking for; I am aware of that.  This site does not offer anything tempting for the mature, professional, entrepreneur.

Overall if your expectations are not great this is a good site for you.  Many people just want to link up and have kids etc.  Mature singles do not have that goal in mind. 

There are too many men from small towns with long hair...
