eHarmony.com —

I joined eHarmony with High expectations based on all the hype.  Took complex personality test that was supposed to lead me into being matched with compatible ladies. Live outside the major FL metro areas like Orlando, Tampa-St Pete, Miami-West Palm Beach, Sarasota, Daytona, Jacksonville,   I am 68, single, nice looking/trim gentleman with Ph.D. who has to continue working. Nonsmoker. I presumed most have good hygiene, are not addicts, racists or wild swingers.

Over a period of 6 mons, received over 650 referrals. Many of their personalities = totally unlike mine. Found about 80% who never answered even first set of questions or gave a courteous "not-interested" reply. Might have had six dates. No long term relationships or even second dates.

Found too many joined but then did not take the process seriously. Too many looking for quick match-ups. Chemistry counts, even though eHarmony says it is not important.

Received referrals about ladies living 300+ miles away and in different states.

eHarmony works for some. Has millions of subscribers. I suspect there is too much hype.

I DO NOT recommend people join eHarmony if not iliving in major metro areas, outside avg dating age range, if their photos are not like those of Bollywood stars and if they expect to get responses--even of noninterest--from many referrals.

eHarmony does not play my tunes. Inconsistent promotions. Too much hype.

n favorite target markets, appropriate ages,

In response to jannaut's comment from Jul 19, 2009 at 9:59PM:

59 and Female. Part of this depends of your interests, photogenic scale, religion and interests.

I would try www.plentyoffish.com, first. It is free. Match.com seens to attract somewhat younger women..
Yahoo.Personals....you can scan yourself. True.com = expensive. Singlesnet is also worth checking out.

One key point in looking at profiles is to see the last time the people checked in. There are photos of people
who haven't checked in for more than 2 mos. This may be more than 2 yrs. WWW.Jdate.com is a fine
site but some women haven't changed their photo in 3-5 yrs or checked in for almost as long. WWW.JLove.com has some lovely ladies but they live in Argentina or other S. American countries.

I will not pay to go to a dating consultant. There are too many executive headhunters who collect their
fees but do not deliver or come up with matches that are unrealistic. If you are $$, then maybe try. But living
in a big city helps. However, there are a lot of fashion plates with lots of plastic who look like dynamite. Yet the amount of powder in their brains is very low. Conceit.

At 59 , do not indicate you are looking for a guy 35-50. You may get some sex. Fine if this is what you
seek. For 59, I'd put 55-70.

Try sites where you can scan or plentyoffish....free. Do not sign up for 3-7 day trial offers and
give your credit card ## out. You'll automatically be billed for the next period. The firm might not
issue a refund, even when you ask (at day 5 or 7). Document any contacts made too.

I have not checked many senior-specific sites yet. But some of those mentioned have persons 8+ yrs older
than you.\\

Do you want bikers, travelers, swimmers, great dancers? I am none of the above. Hope this helps.
brains have very litt
