HMMMM, you would think that in this day and age you would find when it comes to certain industries, like internet dating and personal community sites that you would be open to just about anything..

I am sure there could be a room for just about anyone's tatse.

However e-harmony gives nothing but a SORRY BOUT YA when they make you fill out your entire profile, which takes ages if you actually think about it and fill it out properly, you get your picture loaded and spend all that time in anticipation and hopefullness, almost giddy and have that old feeling of passion that you did when you were younger, even if for a second.

You click on next and check that box that says HOMOSEXUAL

And then with baited breath to get the confirmation that you have been posted.....

You get

*** My words not what site said ****

Oh thank you for giving us all your personal information, your deisres, and dislikes, your age and height, basically who you believe yourself to be, we will take this information and store it but since you are GAY we have to say Ooops we neglected to mention we don't consider you marketable in the dating world.

****

No harm no foul e-harmony, I believe that people are entitled to their own opinions and I respect that.

Just be a little more upfront before someone wastes and hour.

In response to Meri's comment from Jun 18, 2009 at 11:04AM:

That's a keen observation you made there Meri about the personal information. I have to wonder that myself now

It sounds really frustrating. There is nothing worse than feeling mislead. Now, what will they do with all of that information? hmmm....

FYI, E-Harmony founder, Dr. Neil Clark Warren is a former dean and psychologist at Fuller Theological Seminary. Warren holds a bachelor’s degree from Pepperdine University, a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. This may give you a better idea on their prudish application and selection process. I've noticed that other dating sites are more accepting and open-minded. . . in my opinion! :)

This is not the first negative thing I've heard about E-Harmony.

My daughter tried this and all of them. If you know anyone straight in L.A. let me know! Jo PS I know it is a long process to fill out the application. They are missing out on a whole bunch of people!
